IMO the thing that sets Springtrap apart from the other animatronics is like you said: he feels TOO alive. The other animatronics are scary but still very clearly robots. They have specific patterns and one main goal: get to the player and stuff/kill them. Springtrap too has specific patterns and the goal of killing the player, but he's much more malicious about it. He actually TOYS with the player, he is actively trying to scare the player and make them suffer (ex. strutting past the window or peering into the door.) That type of human behavior from something that looks like a machine is absolutely chilling.

Five Nights at Freddy’s Three is the only game of the series I absolutely refuse to touch. There is no amount of money you could pay me to play it, I just won’t do it. The reason for this? Springtrap scares me more than *anything* in a game has ever scared me. I don’t sleep well after thinking about him for too long during the day. I just cannot handle him. Let alone be stuck in a controlled environment with him. Something about Springtrap turns off my brain being able to rationalize fact from fiction and I get nauseous. He’s also my favorite character, but damn do I hate him.
Same dude, he’s so well designed but he terrifies me, I actually was laying in bed after binging fnaf and I couldn’t go to sleep because I could see him when I closed my eyes
ever since i was a kid this has happened to me... once you think about his character, you really wanna know what drove him to do EVERY SINGLE LITTLE THING that led up to this point. it clouds your brains so much you can't get a full night sleep, try to take your mind of it? you can't. you're just stuck in confusion and terror of how a human being could do and go through all these things, and still be living, thirsty for more blood then the amount he already taken with his own hands. that's the truly terrifying part of this man, He's a genius psycho serial killer, a mix of things no human should ever be able to roam around freely with.

I love Springtrap in this game. Going 1v1 vs. a single animatronic is an awesome change of pace, makes the one animatronic much more menacing, and the fact that it's (possibly) Purple Guy? Feels like a final boss.
Note: The 10 in the phantom BB teaser was meant to be the beginning of a series of teasers leading up to the release, but was scrapped. This was confirmed in an interview from Scott himself.
In Scott Cawthon’s interview with Dawko, he said that the 10 on the phantom BB teaser was originally going to mean 10 teasers until the release of FNAF 3
I love how in fnaf 3 it was a 1v1. In prior games the animatronics certainly seemed to have a goal, but overall pretty disorganized. It was different with springtrap. He seemed calculated, more mature and intelligent, and seemed to have a much deeper hatred towards you. You and your tools vs him and his tools. It added a layer of intensity to it because it wasnt just fending off robo bitches anymore it was a fight to the death.

Fnaf 3 is when it reach peak hype
*insert compilation of fnaf fans screaming over FNAF: SB*
The ballon boy "10" teaser, was meant to be a count down, showing every character, with foxy or Chica showing up as 9-8 so on and so forth, but Scott wanted to release earlier, after getting impatient
@ccc310 Then he goes like "Hey, you got games on your phone?"
ever since i was a kid this has happened to me... once you think about his character, you really wanna know what drove him to do EVERY SINGLE LITTLE THING that led up to this point. it clouds your brains so much you can't get a full night sleep, try to take your mind of it? you can't. you're just stuck in confusion and terror of how a human being could do and go through all these things, and still be living, thirsty for more blood then the amount he already taken with his own hands. that's the truly terrifying part of this man, He's a genius psycho serial killer, a mix of things no human should ever be able to roam around freely with.
Same. Ngl at night I think of ways how I could totally annihilate him and not come back to life-
Bro what?
I had to click off "opposing force but the entire game is google translated" just for this

FNaF 3 Jumpscares: Hey I’m going to McDonald’s you want anything?
little tip I found out while playing myself is when you are on the camera springtrap is on and the camera fails you can still see and hear the static appearing when he moves, I haven't beat night 5 myself yet but I hope this could help
Pretty sure everyone know this lmao
understandable have a great day
I’m really loving these retrospectives. As someone who was also around and very involved with the community and the rumors and stuff at the time, I initially assumed this series would be missing quite a bit of the... “feeling” that had been going around for each game’s release. But I’m glad to be wrong - I’m very glad that you, as you also experienced this stuff firsthand, are the one to make it. I can tell it comes from a place of genuine love of the franchise and I’m very impressed with the amount of things you’ve managed to include, especially when it comes to the rumors and lore and speculation at the time. Very good work!
fnaf 3 the game some thought was a end to series, how wrong we were
Scott: The final Game...
God: Stop the Cap RIGHT NOW😹
It was, but not for long
It’s the final chapter in the timeline. It’s not the final game but it is the final installment in the timeline.
@@dylanrivera2244 actually Pizzeria simulator kicked 3 out of his place as last timeline game, and then comes the Help Wanted and Special delivery at the same time and then Security Breach
@@LuizHenrique9406 id rather think the seires ended in fnaf 3
Love the design of springtrap and how his character design is tied into his lore. Also I love the thumbnail it gives me the chills when I look at it!
babe wake up sagan hawkes posted
You mean that guy who does the fnaf video essays?
you are one of the few that blends their live face talking to the camera and a commentary voice together with no difference in voice quality idky most people cant get that right but u did so wooooooo
FNAF 3 still my favorite one out of the series, and the most scary.
the least scary*

Holy crap! I forgot about "There is no pause button". The memories are coming back & I cannot thank you enough
Finally, these videos are honestly so goddamn good. Looking forward for the next retrospective!
Fnaf 3 taught us alot about the series, I thought the gameplay lacked a bit,but it was very important and necessary for the series, Great video my friend and thanks for the amazing content you have taught me alot of what good fnaf content looks like, and I will take this with me on my journey, thank you.
I found you a few days ago. Your retrospectives made it easier to finish a long drive. I’m so excited for the new episode!
Gaurantee you man people will come back to these videos for years to come amazing
so no one gonna talk about how he put a springtrap face over his for a split second, dope asf
Bad ending fnaf 3: lights on meaning the child souls are still trapped with springtap
Good ending fnaf 3: lights off meaning the souls have been freed and springtrap has been left behind
my favorite part of this game is that stupid image of springtrap just stanting still in the middle of a street at night, I don't know why I find it so funny yet scary
The only thing I hated about this artwork of a game was how the secrets were hidden.
But even that I can ignore. This will always be my favourite game in the series.
FINALLY BEEN WAITING FOR WHAT FEELS LIKE FOREVER
lmfao "The Office" and then a picture of Carell shows up in the bg
you ain't slick boi
These retrospectives are such a joy to watch! I really enjoy seeing the breakdowns you do!
This FNAF and FNAF 4 are always going to be the last true FNAF games to ever be released for me. Since Sister Location things went so different and strange
fnaf world?
You put way too much effort into these, and I love it.
this is still my favourite game out of them all, especially in sound design and visual aspects
In the words of Count Dooku:
*I’ve been looking forward to this.*
My powers have doubled since the last time we met, Count.
Good. Twice the editing skill, double the dislikes.
I love how rather than admit he’s wrong and start anew, Matpat just doubles down on his awful theories.
He's admitted to his theories being wrong multiple times in other theory videos
THE MADMAN HAS DONE IT AGAIN! THE GOOD SHIT HAS RETURNED
I love Springtrap in this game. Going 1v1 vs. a single animatronic is an awesome change of pace, makes the one animatronic much more menacing, and the fact that it's (possibly) Purple Guy? Feels like a final boss.
Springtrap is the only animatronic to freak me out when i was younger
Fnaf 3 was the one game that just couldnt
FNaF 3 is the least scary game in the series imo, currently playing through it and I’m a scaredy-cat.
Very fun.
Been loving this series, special praise to your audio work with all the soundbites and music you put over the video!
I'm absolutely loving this series it brings me back to simpler times. Coming home from school and watching the new markiplier let's play ya know
This game has a special place in my heart, cuz it released at my birthday, march 2nd. It was kind of a birthday gift
Oh man when the Bonnie lullaby started the video up I knew I was in for a treat that theme is so nostalgic
The lore and theory constantly changing with these games whether good or bad is always kinda interesting
I’m so glad that UA-cam likes me watching your series to where this was the first on my recommendation. Keep up the good work man.
That was quick! I love this series, I'm happy I've already got another installment to watch! Go Sagan!
ngl when the game first came out, the animation of freddy shuffling down the hall TERRIFIED me. idk why but to this day seeing that for the first time was one of the scariest moments in any game for me
I won’t lie, I sometimes wish the lore and story of the series ended with this game, with either the normal or good ending
I like how the mall concept ended up coming back in the form of the new game, Security Breach.
While it falls short gameplay wise
Story wise this game excels
The good ending gets me every time with that music and sense of closure you get while watching
You did it.
They are freed.
You gave them their happiest day.
That ending was fire
The irony is that it’s the hardest game in the franchise, despite the fact that only one animatronic can kill you.
You can argue that sister location is as hard because of night 4 and the restricted room on night 5
Wow just, amazing. Theres no words to describe how well you did with these retrospectives so far. Just amazing
After all these years, it still blows my mind that this company would rather have full Faz-bear-iron-maiden suits, risk literal an employee, rather than make a spare empty suit. Like, idk, just seems like a loose-lose situation to moi 🤭✨💀🥳
Do you know cooperations?😂
I literally just discovered the retrospective and now this comes out now. Epic
Nostalgia, a strong power of human memory...
the introduction of multiple endings absolutely blew my mind as a kid, springtrap being a corpse also was the COOLEST shit to me god i remember watching so many theory videos on it
I still hold Springtrap as my favourite. Every aspect about him just feels cold and unrelenting. All the others animatronics I feel would kill you in a flash while Springtrap in all his derangeness would take his time.
These videos bring me so much nostalgia! Thank you for making them.
Happy sixth anniversary to fnaf 3! I’ll always appreciate this game for the story it told and the amazing ending it gave us to the original trilogy.
I love the "release" section of the videos, I really forgot about the trailers and the pictures, it was such an iconic era, full of chaotic speculation
3:37 I remember hearing that Scott was originally going to count down the game’s release with teasers, hence why it says 10, but ended up scrapping the idea.
It’s felt so long since I’ve been waiting for this!
