Remember that Genesis hired 2 top ex-Bentley designers in 2016. The former design director Luc Donckerwolke & lead designer Sangyup Lee (Korean, btw). GV80 looking expensive ain't an accident.
I have owned three Genesis cars over the years. Hyundai has put in the work and shown commitment to making a quality product. In the end that’s what matters and it will show.

We have basically the same roll over accident with just days between them. The difference I was driving an old Corolla and he was in a Genesis. The results were similar, at least up to the moment I have no surgery but soon will have one on my shoulder. The point is ALWAYS USE YOU SEAT BELTS! We are alive because the safety features on our cars (even more in the Genesis than the Corolla) and the SEAT BELTS. Wishing a speedy recovery to him since I can say man I’m in you shoes right now.

I will never buy another Kia. Period. We contacted the Kia Corporate office to help with an issue we had after our car broke down on the side of the interstate 2 times after being serviced at 2 different Kia dealerships, Langdale Kia in Valdosta and Crown Kia in Saint Petersburg. Kia Corporate gave us the run around, telling us they would send our service request upper management to have it approved. After 3 weeks, they finally told us that no our car wasn’t under warranty! What?! It’s like they didn’t even read what we submitted. Kia doesn’t know how to fix their own vehicles and doesn’t care if they break down multiple times. This has been a horrible

Sorry to say this but the Genesis is not in the same league with Lexus or Acuras.. They are up there with the 3 German big luxos! And they are more affordable than the Germans!

That's because BMW and Mercedes are build for comfort, performance and luxury, not reliability. Technically they engineer their cars to break down after a few years to get people to purchase another one.

I was always a big Mercedes fan until I moved to Korea and seen Genesis, Best quality at possible lowest price, Genesis
10 airbags is impressive! And that dashboard, is very very cool!! Especially with the blind spot camera. Loved this. A really thorough review!

The remote parking is hilarious because in Korea, parking spots are unbelievably narrow. Getting out just inches from the next parked car is often an adventure. That's why all domestic/imported cars come with automatic folding side mirrors, even on the cheapest models.

I had the G80 for three years and I must say that I was pretty satisfied. Best part it was the fact that it was the base trim... didn't miss anything.
Great line vehicles.
Drove the G70 a lot (was the loaner when I went for service) and I was impressed, but it's more for a younger crowd.
Same goes for GV80 vs GV70. GV80 has open pore wood. GV70 uses carbon fiber. Seems they're designed for different age groups. It's not just a smaller version... in fact, the GV80 AWD 2.5T gets BETTER gas mileage than the GV70 AWD 2.5T, go figure.
Genesis nailed it with this SUV and, you nailed it with this review.
This is the best looking SUV on the market today…and that’s taking into account those SUVs that cost 4 times as much. This is one of the very best reviews of this vehicle. This guy makes car reviewing look easy (but it’s NOT). GREAT JOB REVIEWING A GREAT SUV.

Even though, I haven't seen ANY new Genesis on streets yet. NOT where I live, Northern NJ. Only the older models(namely G70, which I have seen a few so far), or just the old Hyundai Genesis. When it comes to newer models and 2 line headlights, I've only seen 2 G90s, but that's it. I guess I will have to give it some time, for GV80 and new G80 are just too new... Though I've been told they've already sold like 5-6,000 cars in the US but I haven't seen any. I've seen about 3 new Kia Sorentos on the street, but NONE of the GV80s, or New G80s... oh well...

I just got this car! I visited a Hyundai dealer to get a Santa Fe, but when I saw this I was blown away, it was so NICE and so I really wanted to have it. I’ve now have had it for 2 months and everywhere I go, people stop me to ask about the car, there is so much admiration for my car. It’s a gorgeous car!!

Genesis brings value by owning the entire vertical manufacturing chain, starting with raw steele. Hyundai is a huge, huge conglomerate (it even has a multi-billion weapons division). It's not cheaper than the luxury brands just by cutting corners.
Lot of consumers don't know that. Hell, they even have there own robots company for car manufacturing.
I've been impressed by the Genesis designs (exterior and interior) and quality of materials since they first came out. And look at this one, it's not simply a clone of a German luxury vehicle. I do hope more people will take note of it after the publicity arising from the Woods accident. Impressive safety features to survive that rollover.

The Genesis sign on the driver’s door was clearly visible, but it’s bizarre that he crossed the median that was full of trees and he went down the other embankment and rolled over. If Tiger was trying to kill himself, he picked the wrong car!
Yeah, pretty weird scenario. But the car certainly kept him safe. The GV80 is an impressive vehicle.

Great video....I just bought the GV80 3.5T Prestige edition today....absolutely love it.
Just an fyi, the pic of Tiger's car was not the Prestige package edition, it was the "Advanced" package ...the wheel rims tell the difference between the Advanced & the Prestige packages. Also, the Advanced Package trim does not have the "Forward Attention Warning" function that the Prestige package does. Had Tiger been driving the Genesis GV80 with the Prestige package he may have been alerted prior to his accident.
My wife got really pissed at yet another suspension fault light in our Range Rover Sport HSE and said "That's it! We're getting a new car". Over the years, we've owned Mercedes (240D, 300D, 280SL), BMW (320i), Volvo (850), Porsche (Targa), Saab (900, 9000T), Audi (Q5, Q3) besides the Range Rover. We decided to give Genesis a try. We've had our Cardiff Green, GV80 Prestige for 2 months now. We live in Colorado Springs and recently drove to the Telluride Fall Classic auto show. In a lot full of McLarens, Ferraris, Porsches, Bentleys and many beautiful classic cars, it was amazing how many people wanted to talk to us about our GV80. And, of course, the driverless pull-out from the parking space was a crowd-pleaser. Most of the UA-cam reviewers fail to mention why the car is so quiet inside - active noise cancellation...just amazing! Also on the freeway the adaptive cruise control coupled with excellent auto lane holding makes this a great hands off self-driver. The “GV” must stand for “great value”, especially if you can get the car from a dealer at MSRP as we did in Norman, Oklahoma. Good luck, though, as most USA dealers are putting up to a $15k premium on the GV80. Without a doubt, the most impressive car we've owned. Beware, however, of the “Concierge Service” claim. Upon further examination, the pickup service is optional with the local dealership. In our case, the local service manager told us that we were NOT eligible for the concierge program for two reasons: 1) We didn’t buy the car from them (because of the $5k markup), and 2) the dealership only had 3 loaners which they prioritized for their own customers. So while the first 3 years of service will be free, we’ll still have to drive the car to the dealership just like we did with every other car we’ve owned.

We have one, and surprised you didn't mention how it's focused more on kids in the back, the sun shades, whenever you leave the vehicle, and you have any type of pressure on the back seat your car alarm will go off, and tells you to check back seat^ so yes leave groceries in cargo space!
That's also the advanced version, the other gv80 doesnt have the self parking, or blind spot cams.. but do have the move forward/backwards on remote :)
