- Like my 5 Legends video this is one of my biggest video projects. This is a video about 5 villains; Big Boss, Liquid Snake, Solidus Snake, Revolver Ocelot and Psycho Mantis. Hope you like it!

• Ninja Tracks - Passage...
The message of Metal Gear is that there are no villains. No good guys nor bad guys. Just people carrying out their philosophy. This is an excellent video by the way
Then there's mantis
+ShyanTheLegend What? That isn't really the message, the message runs more along the lines of "Die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain". Some of these guys do some truly horrific shit, there's no doubt they're evil (and Hideo Kojima himself CALLS BB evil), however the way in which some of them get there is what's interesting. Nobody comes out of the womb evil.
Mitch Manta I don't know how people think BB is anything other than a villain, "muh SS kills people" he kills terrorists, for the mission, agaisnt people with intentions to you know drop nukes on the world, Big Boss takes child soldiers and wants eternal war, threatened the world with nukes too, anyone who thinks otherwise should educate themselves.
At best he's an anti villian.
Exactly
Except for Volgin, Skull Face, Liquid, Mantis and Sundowner, they are pure evil.
all the villains: *Epic Speech*
Big Boss: i am already a demon
Many don't see Big Boss as a villain. But even Hideo Kojima says "It is important for me to explain to the players how this hero became an evil to the entire world". And when you think about it he runs nuclear equipped mercenary company. The entire business model depends on the world being in a war. His operations are run by blood money, hires child soldiers, hides nuclear weapons from UN...
All the character that you mentioned are not mindless villain, they are humans with their character, emotion and actions which seems reasonable to them. Maybe you should have used antagonists instead of villains.
Anyway, Many people knows Big Boss from MGS3 and never played MG1 and MG2 so they don't know that he is the main villain for these games :P
Keep doing what you are doing :D
Go back and check the MSX games, he felt like a warmonger who rise child soldier!!
He is a villain pretty much, he has his reason.
And for me I prefer Solid as a person, not saying BB is bad.
You might be right but Kojima is mostly hinting for a darker BB
We'll see how it turns out in TPP maybe there is a good explanation. Plus, he seem to be raising some child soldiers but that is just a speculation.
And as I said before, MGS has people with different motivation and reasons, there are no good and evil, just like real life.
ZetsubouNoNnoitra well everyone has motivations, but that doesn't make them not evil!
the UN itself being heavily infiltrated by the patriots.
"If you had been in my place back then, maybe you wouldn't have made the same mistakes I did. Ever since the day I killed The Boss with my own hands, I... was already dead."
im pretty sure kojima was on mad drugs went he made psycho mantis
***** whats that suppose to mean ?
sorry, i didnt remebered its been a long time since i played mgs1
alexandre champagne na he was mad on drugs to make the button mashing torture scenes
have you scene da microwave tunnel in mgs4
+Alexandre Champagne (Captain Casual) yes, and it's scary as shit! Is Snake walking in lava?
How is Ocelot evil?
In the grand scheme of the things he was doing, he was as heroic as Solid Snake.
In '64, he was a spy for the CIA and helped Snake.
In '84, he helped Venom Snake stop Skull Face and stop all English-speaking people from being killed.
In Shadow Moses, he was once again a spy for the U.S. Gov.
In the Tanker/Big Shell incident, he tried to help Solidus overthrow the Patriots.
And during Liquid's Insurrection, Ocelot was revealed to have brainwashed himself to believe he is Liquid so that he can try to take control over G.W. because Ocelot knew Solid Snake would brave anything to kill Liquid once and for all, and he knew that Snake would also destroy G.W. if he had the chance.
Solidus was a black hero, he did very bad things but in 2 he tried to free the people and give them their Civil Liberties by destroying the Patriots.
Raiden was a operator for the Patriots, because Solidus was going against them, they sent Raiden to deal with him.
Sir Scrubbington didn't Ocelot betray Solidus and run away with Metal Gear Ray to deliver it to the patriots?
Ocelot was a hero, in the end, as was Big Boss and even Solidus to an extent. But what they did to achieve the goal makes them villains, at least in the MGS universe. There is no true evil in the MGS universe, not true villain, just people trying to interpret another's will, but none of them fully understand, and so they demonise themselves, intentionally or not. I guess the one enemy in this universe is war itself, managed through The Patriots.
Also, Venom Snake never did anything wrong, he isn't a villain and in fact tries to save everyone he can (at least when I play MGSV lol), I wouldn't call him a villain, but I would say Big Boss was, as he was willing to let a whole hospital staff and patients to get slaughtered, just so him and his legacy (Venom) would survive, so he could escape the public eye and escape death for the moment. However, we never see Big Boss pull the trigger on innocent people or on children, he himself may never have killed anyone, apart from The Boss and eventually the already dying Zero, depending on how you've played the games prior to The Phantom Pain.
I typed way more than I originally set out to do here lol, but the main thing is, there is only one clear villain in the Metal Gear universe; war.
Jaymes Shoreman well, Volgin is as close to a true 1 dimensional villain as we van get in the Metal Gear universe. Not trying to undermine your point, just saying
Jaymes Shoreman solid Snake and liquid are the main bad guys from my point of view I wish I could time paradox solids Mario mustache looking ass in a venom V.S solid fight
*Raiden* So your the boss around here....?
*Solidus*.......No....not just around here....I'm the boss to surpass Big Boss himself!
Then he got killed by newbie who didn't even had normal missions
@Starscream91 but it was in VR missions. They're like very different
@@NiCoNiCoNiCola Raiden was a child soldier. The VR was not his true experience of combat. The Patriots altered some of Raiden's memories.
@@JohnnyDominion so.... That just makes your point worse. Because if his memories were altered he could've forgot his combat skills (and he probably did)
@@NiCoNiCoNiCola Somethings you cannot forget and are so ingrained that it is a part of his core. Hell when Raiden finally confided in Rose about his life on board Arsenal Gear he even admitted that he never truly did forget about the things he did and was was suffering from PTSD. The point is Solidus didn't lose to a rookie, Raiden still had his prior experience but he couldn't remember who gave it to him, he didn't even remember Solidus at first.
The villains truly make the franchise what it is
God damn you're good at this kind of stuff
thanks man
KefkaProduction Man sorry but youtube doesn't allow me to give more likes :P
You really deserve more, I've watched this quiet a few times now.
One of the best videos for MGS on UA-cam.
Keep doing these masterpieces!!!
I'd love to see something about the B & B corp with Drebin talking about them!!
They are really underrated to the point that I never seen any video that include them :(
Hope you make my dream come true!!
***** Your view might change after the Phantom Pain, if you see the analysis videos on the trailer, it explains a whole lot, like that beginning scene depicts big boss walking with his belt unstrapped, signifying a devils tail, then the blood red face, and his debris is larger in some parts, probably symbolizing a horn, not much is said on liquid or mantis, but they're there and might be justified.
Greg60597 You might even say 'pretty good'.
I was expecting Big Boss to say "This is good, isn't it?" at the end.
this is one of the best edited montages I've seen. Great work!
Should've been Volgin or Skull Face instead of Mantis.
Zero as well.
Volgin or Senator Armstrong, really
+Gracjan Idziaszek Armstrong is not from Metal Gear SOLID!
+Crazy Gondor then Volgin!
+IGN clarify
This, and the Legends version, are hands down my favorite videos on all of UA-cam
I don't understand why Mantis had to be there,he is awesome but not the same rank as the other ones...
This, plus Mantis is kinda more straightforward than others. Iconic character in the series, yes, but not iconic villain, not even close. It would be more logical to include Volgin rank-wise, but he's way too bland.
who know, maybe the Phantom Pain would change your mind about Mantis.. :p
***** But TPP is not out yet,and we don't know anything about Mantis and what his role is in TPP. Anyway, even if he was a big number there,it doesn't change the fact that he wasn't so important in the other games.
Dejan Aleksić
like i said... who knows. :p
Dejan Aleksić Actually his spirit makes appearance in MGS4, where Mantis is revealed to be the controlling influence behind the Beauty and the Beast Unit. I would say that Mantis was a big number there.
I remember finding/discovering this channel after replaying MGS4 almost a decade ago. After all these years, these projects you made still hold up as one of the best MGS edit's/collage's/montage's/VGMV's. Thanks for the memories yo, cheers. Here's To You
Had to do it lol
Once again you did a masterful job for the top five villains video
you left me at awe!!! amazing video thanks for sharing!!! :D
Solidus is my favorite villain in the series. In my opinion he has the easiest goal to relate to (Destroying the Patriots, same as the heroes) and liberating everyone. His ruthlessness to get there is what made him a villan.
I'm the only one who prefer Gene for mgs portable ops?😅
That I'm already a demon
part give me goosbumbs everytime
Solidus did nothing wrong
I'm a nanomachine and I find that offensive
Big Boss did nothing wrong
***** Reminder that he was probably told to do so by the Patriots, as before Shadow Moses he was an agent of them, Just like Solid or Liquid.
Also, the patriots brought the world into constant war anyway by MGS4 with the war economy. Which would you prefer:
Traditional constant warfare, or censored ID controlled PMC-based warfare for wars that nobody believes in.
Child Soldiers.
***** Eh, i like to think that was all to tie in for his true intentions. But Solidus was a dick, and honestly i found him sort of forgettable, i much preferred the twin rivalry of liquid and solid.
I still come to this video and it's like watching it for the first time every time. Such quality and passion put into this.
My favorite part is when big boss say "i'm already a demon" and bossed around the staff of mother base. Truly the stuff of legend. Bravo Kojima !
For me Venom snake is not a villain
True
@@arthurmorgan8982 My MunEhhhhhh!!!!!
Agreed
I like videos like this one. Videos that show what characters are about, what their motivation is, what makes them unique, and what they've suffered through.
Kefka, you are awesome on your editing skills. Your vids are amazing. Keep it up
This is probably the bestMetal gear montage i've seen
"From now on, call me Big Boss" this is when Big Boss became evil, he proud and happy that he killed the Boss
No he wasn't
He is dead from inside
Because he killed her
He accepted that name
Not because he proud but for something else
The poor guy
His choice killed him in the end
He wanted the peace for the world but on stupid way
*liquid snake best villain for me!*
بتشوف وحشية البيغ بوس في فانتوم بين
سوليد سنيك ماتكلم عن وحشيته قصدت شخصيته
When I saw this i immediately thought of this as a showcase for all the future villains of the series to appear in the upcoming game. So far everyone but solidus snake has been confirmed to be making an appearance in MGSV. Could this be foreshadowing of a Solidus a.k.a. George Sears role...?!?!
Great video by the by
People in 2014: Wow nice edit, good job.
People today: Where's senator Armstrong!?
Man that was Boss... or should I say BIG BOSS. You are truly talented my friend. Just as good as 5 Legends.
I think big boss intentions were good. every character has a different goal. mission. future. philosophy. which all meet up down the road. creating obstacles in everyones way. causing a war. that's what I think. no one is really good or bad. all in the matter of perspective.
should be called top global threats or something.
You deserve so much more likes and subs, dont ever stop making these masterpieces
this is a truly fantastic mgs vid nicely worked together well timed a must see for any mgs fan!
something about this reminds me of those old toonami bumps. excellent work.
I love this video but to say that big boss and and oscelot are villains is just an understatement for both of them
So what about zero?
He said that ocelot bad man
And even big boss
So what do you think
Love that cinematic
This is it. Awsome video!
THAT IS VENOM SNAKE. THEY ARE TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE.
Well. as big boss said in his message to venom "I'm big boss, and you are too. No he's the two of us together". He also says " I am you and you are me"
This was made before The Phantom Pain came out.
Pretty much Big Boss is an image or a reputation or an ideal that both naked snake and venom snake desire to live up to. Big Boss is what they make it to be.
I like how there is almost never a true villain in the mgs series but it's always up to the player to make that connotative decision
Beautifully put together. :)
I love your edits man. Good shit. Quality stuff.
1:52-1:54 That was Awesome
OMG awesome! you should extended version with much more characters!
Liquids so cool, never liked Solidus when I was 11 and the game came out but, mgs2s story aged well I jus played it and I love the voice of Solidus..
what a intro. the essence of a game that sold the world.
Big Boss's will was always to create a home/base, for soldiers of war. In the MG games I actually viewed Solid Snake as the villain because he was blindly following orders of Langley and the Patriots. As for the child soldiers...they are better off in Big Boss's army than in cages, if you recall one of the MGS5 trailers. So as of now I do not see any reason why Big Boss should be labeled a villain.
In order for Big Boss to have a home for his soldiers, there has to be constant war in the world so that they are always needed and respected. So he doesn't give two shits about innocents or anything like that just as long chaos and blood is being spilt, there will always be room in the world for him.
still having child soldiers is definitely not good lol.
GentxScholar Venom tried to rescue the child soldiers from Africa and look what happened, most of them rebelled and escaped, stealing a half-broken Sahelanthropus, a helicopter and kidnapped a pilot to fly it. They were born and raised on the battlefield, most of them wouldn't want to give that up. Maybe its best to just offer them a chance to leave or continue fighting.
Ricky Lowell I don't particularly like that part of the plot. Someone would've noticed huey rebuilding a giant metal gear lol I try not to think about the mgs story too much though.
GentxScholar
But the thing is: Huey didn't rebuild Sahelanthropus, the only Metal Gear he only worked on was the custom Walker Gear and the Battle Gear. How Sahelanthropus got repaired was because Huey was chatting with the children every now and then and they would bring up the topic about how to repair it and Huey would say how he would've done it if he were to do it, meaning he unintentionally gave step-by-step instructions so the children could steal his supposed-to-be statue of steel representing Diamond Dog's triumph.
upcoming next..... Metal Gear Solid SIDEKICKS
That. Was. Awesome.
The villains always make MGS so awesome!
Their stories painted them as villains, where they intended to be heroes. The road to hell is paved with good intentions and the corpses of those that stood in that path.
damn ... keep going you really good it like trailer for a damn good movie
I saw a video analysis from MGS fans stated that Big Boss is not really a villain in the end. We are playing a different character who thinks he's Big Boss in MGS5....yeah sounds ridiculous but that video really blew my mind as it seems they really dig the clues that Kojima is hiding...anyways...this video is awesome!
Could you provide us a link?
Yeah man, LINK us up, post that link
Jedidiah Scott Look up PythonSelkanHD's channel. He's got a bunch of them.
***** yes I post a link from their video...but I think it's been removed.
Bastard was right
5 villains with honor for 5 heroes with honor
"..." Quoted by Big Boss
*GOOSEBUMPS*
thank you for making and sharing that video.
This montage is above genius
It blew me away seeing Venom Snake on here. Can't wait until MGS5.
Very intense
Solidus was a PATRIOT! His final speech at federal hall revealed his motives. To give the people their rights and civil liberties! Screw Raiden and Kojima with him, Solidus shouldn't have died in MGS2. If it weren't for him, I wouldn't achieved masters in politics & I hope he makes a cameo in MGS5 since the civil war in Africa matches TPP circa.
Fahad S.S He did raise child soldiers as a business though. That's kind of evil.
Solid SWAT Well, Snake just followed orders without questions asked and it also led to evil doing for the sake of the patriots. At least Solidus wanted to liberate people from their grasp. As for stupid Raiden, it was either a soldier or a corps. Solidus saved his life even if it was through a brutal process.
***** NYC has more than 10 million inhabitants since the 2012 census. Anyways, he just wanted to destroy WallSt
Not the city. That's what the patriots say and they're full of BS just like WallSt charging bull.
Raider had to kill him or else Olga's child would die. That's what the patriots told him if he lost fighting Solidus. Raider didn't wanna fight him at the end but then he had to.
lol what are you on about bruv. patriotism is the root of all international warfare and delusions of a greater country. if you mastered in politics you should understand the very materia of the matter. patriotism doesnt mean just loving your country, it encourages to feel superior towards other countries. thats where it begins. any history book of any reign of power structure, empire or kingdom will show that to you my man
You sir have talent
Volgin , skull face and vamp and majo zero been on list
Intense.
i love when big boss say im already demon
nice work wow
Sick Sick Sick Sick f'n Siiiickk
Best Video Ever
Awesome
Sick video
That was cool
this makes me feel like a badass
Epic.
Amazing...
1. Liquid snake
2. Phsycho mantis
3. Solidus snake
4. The fury
5. Volgin
awesome vid
Liquid Snake and Sniper Wolf are my fav
Phantom Pain will explain us why and how Big Boss becomes a bad person.
An enemy of the world, in fact.
We saw, in Guns of the Patriots, that he redeemed himself.
He let it go.
Now we will see WHAT made him the man everyone hated and feared.
This is going to be a kick ass chapter.
I'm from the future. I'm here to brace you for disappointment.
Great work but bout psycho mantis IDK if he's villain like so so cos he helps after you win with him
Ocelot works for every company in the world
All this time that Big Boss with a horn on his head was a fake Big Boss now I know why Solid Snake kill Demon Snake.
This deserves more views :)
Solidus: I'm the boss to surpass Big Boss HImself!
Solidus:2 Star Spirit on Super Smash Bros Ultimate
Big Boss:4 Star Spirit on Super Smash Bros Ultimate
More more more !!!!!!!!!
Beautifull
Man you are awesome! :D make a thrid video featuring master miller, otacon, the sorrow, gray fox and ocelot called loyalty
No vamp? He is literally the only character who overpowered solid snake in his PRIME! He also goes toe to toe with Raiden with his suit!
Well, he isn't really that important or reliever for that matter. While he may have beaten Snake in his prime, Snake did beat his ass in Guns of the Patriots if I remember correctly.
+Gracjan Idziaszek *relevant
Gracjan Idziaszek he killed the creator of the Patriots AI Emma. He was raidens main antagonist. He did most of the grunt work in mgs4 and mgs2. He is the best nanomachined powered dude who can deflect bullets with his knife, run of the side of big shell, pilot a jet, and was just such a bad ass. Him killing emma severely complicated MGS story. If sunny never showed up, they'd never be able to stop liquid.
+Emerson “Troy” Hodgson I see your point, but mine still mostly stands. He's comparable to the Orcs in Lord of the Rings. Sure, they did and caused a lot of trouble for the good guys, but they aren't really the biggest threat at the moment. Also, IMO, Raiden's main antagonist is Solidus. I mean, sure, Raiden and Vamp had a small rivalry, but Raiden had that with Sam. Solidus had the most impact on him out of all the villains, therefore, again IMO, he's his biggest antagonist
Snake was no longer at his prime during MGS2. He wasn't the exhausted dying old man he was in MGS4, but not the powerhouse he was in MGS, either.
And despite being a super soldier, Snake was never created to counter the likes of Vamp. Snake is basically a soldier at peak level, but Vamp is still a supernatural freak. It took Raiden to turn into a skull and a spine attached to machinery to counter his shtick.
Dude
Big boss
Not a evil
JUST another man trying to unite the humanity together to make the world in peace
But in the Wrong way like always
In the real life
In Game life
Muy bien echo sigue haci tus videos son grandiosos
Brilliant video...! That's all I'm going to say...
Amazing!!
Не плохой монтаж :)
A Great Applause for The Editing Really A Great Work You Are Indeed A Great Fan Of Metal Gear Sold And Zetsubou no Nnoitra is Indeed Right The are Antagonist Listening to your Comment now I feel Why would Snake would do such a thing I really liked Vic/Big/Snake/Boss But And Even though Revolver is an Enemy I Like Him in TPP And According to The Phantom Pain DON'T READ - FIRST PLAY OR WATCH METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN
The "Really Villain would be the Phantom Instead of Real One You Getting My Point, Ocelot Said to Miller At the Ending of The Truth Mission, Listen to It and Probably he is the One and Real Vic Boss is the One who Dies Due to FoxDie and the One Solid Killed was The Phantom Got it now I also Got the Point Where Phantom Pain Connects to The Whole Story.
It All Makes Sense and Thus V Has Come to An End.
Let me tell you this guys, THAT Big Boss in MGS5 that has a horn in his head and a prosthetic arm is VENOM, also known as Punished "Venom" Snake in the Phantom Pain. He is just a doppelganger for the real Big Boss, Venom is actually the one who Solid Snake killed with just a can of hairspray and a lighter, he is not the real deal. To know why he was the main protagonist in the MGS5 PP, just play trough it, then you'll understand.
+Nathaniel Tiamson Well your half right venom snake is the one you play in mgsv and solid snake does kill him but in metal gear and in metal gear 2 he kills the real big boss with the hairspray and lighter how is this so hard for peapole understand it's in the end credits in mgsv
Oh yeah? Then who is the "Big Boss" that solid snake met in mgs4? ;)
Well it's a long answer but i'll try to keep it short its the real big boss that solid snake meets at the end of mgs4 what happen's is after solid snake beats big boss at the end of mg2 the patriots recover big boss his alive but just barley they inject nanomachines in his body to induce a coma 15 years go by raiden finds his body for eva she uses liquid and solidus dna to restore his body then when sunny uploads foxalive in the ai system he wakes up boom there you go
damn you proved me wrong :D i didn't know that because of the long ass cutscene, i literally fell asleep
Yeah mgs4 is infamous for having some long ass cutscenes
Favorited
Kooooonaaamiiii...
❤❤❤❤
A lot of big boss's child soldiers where volunteers like Chico weren't they? Unlike the other pic or military groups who created child soldiers through drugs to make them fearless like with raiden aka Jack the Ripper
i dont actually consider liqui solidus or BB villains, more like anti hero's
