I’ve been waiting for this one for a long time! I bought my Cyber Gray Elantra N DCT at the end of June. Everything in your review was spot on 100%. It does have some stuff, like the cheap hard plastic on the interior, that reminds you you’re still in a Hyundai (there are some Korean market OEM Alcantara bits you can swap in that fixes that though) but once you put it in N mode and hit the twisties that stuff doesn’t matter anymore. Even my kids love it despite being so spartan in the back. And just like you said, you don’t have to spend money on an exhaust, better tires, suspension bits or better brakes because it comes stock with all those. It’s truly the most fun I’ve had in any of my past cars. And if you want to take it easy with the family you can just put it in Normal mode or Eco and have a comfortable ride and get outstanding gas mileage. You have to give Hyundai kudos for giving you the option of a DCT or a manual. They really did their homework and made this car for the enthusiast. As always love your reviews because you don’t hold any punches and give us real deal honest feedback. Thanks again Joe!
@@johnleewins3814 thanks! No exhaust drone at all. The exhaust is perfection. The road noise is about what you would expect for a compact sedan. @@n-power-automotive I’m curious to hear what your gripes were with the Accord? I was very close to buying a manual 2019 accord 2.0 last week and I was starting to think I missed out.
@@mauriciogarcia4190 my biggest gripe was the seat comfort. Sounds weird for a Honda, but for some reason the drivers seat was so uncomfortable to me. It felt like I was sitting on a metal rail. Also, the electronics in the car were very glitchy. Apple CarPlay would stop working anytime I tried playing music while using Google Maps. And then the infotainment screen would just black out for mo reason pretty much at least once a day. It was very annoying. Another odd thing with my particular Accord was if I tried to auto start it on a really hot day it wouldn’t work and when I did start the car from inside I’d get a check engine light. It was probably due to modern Honda batteries absolutely sucking. Performance-wise it was really fun, had nice torque down low which for a owner of many different Hondas in the past was a really odd feeling, but it definitely pulled really nicely up until about 5,500 RPM then I’d kind of hit a wall. I had the 10spd auto, which was mostly a decent transmission, but really too many gears for a smooth operation. It was pretty jerky around town and would have a huge pause to figure out which gear to go into when I’d floor it. That wouldn’t be a problem with the 6spd manual, though with the 6spd I heard the shifting was good but not great like the Civic Type R or even the Si, so you need better shifter bushings to correct that.
@@n-power-automotive awesome feedback! It sucks to hear about the cons especially being a Honda you just want it to be perfect but sadly nothing is. I was attracted by the balance of straight-line performance and “perceived” comfort, but surprisingly you’re not the first person to say that about the drivers seat. Does it hold the gear when you hit the redline in manual mode ? Or it shifts automatically when it hits the redline in Manual mode with paddle shifter?
@@juancruz-jg5pq not sure about the elantra n but my veloster n does not upshift on its own in manual mode, however it will eventually downshift on its own in manual mode.
I personally love the color combo with the blue bodywork with the red trim around the bottom. It's a cool contrast. Shame that one of my friends doesn't fully understand how far Hyundai and Kia have come, especially when we're talking about those two concept cars that were shown off not too long ago. I love your vids Raiti! I just got mine, intense blue 6sp manual 2 days ago. 2k over msrp. It is everything I expected and more. A message to those who are reading this and put a deposit down. I put a $1k deposit down at my local dealer and was told it would be 7-13 weeks for delivery and they agreed to sell it at MSRP. Well, 15 weeks later and when I checked for updates they said they couldn't get their hands on it. I was under the impression that I was factory ordering it but I don't think Hyundai actually does this. All my money was doing was reserving it if the dealer was actually allocated one by Hyundai. At that point, my local dealership helped me locate a dealer 80 miles away that had the car I wanted. At that point I just paid the 2K markup because my patience and putting a deposit down was not going to work for me. I'm thrilled to have the car but beware that if you put a deposit down, there might not be a guarantee you get the car. I drove the N back to the local dealer in order to get my deposit back and one of the salesman came to the street to check out my car. He was thrilled to see one in person. I'm telling you this car is like very hard to find. If you really want it, you gotta really pursue it. Good luck!
Traded in my 2022 gti SE for a 2022 Elantra N back in late July ., had a bunch of vw’s in the past ., gli’s gti’s and an ‘18 golf R ., as fun as vw’s are they really don’t have much soul ., so far loving the Elantra N for the performance , looks and the exhaust sound ., never thought I’d buy a Korean car but of the price / performance I don’t think there are many other cars that can beat it in that range .
I was a bit iffy about the red on the splitter, but as you were explaining the vehicle and going around it, I actually really like the red accent, ads a unique style to it. And btw, you have the best in depth reviews I’ve ever came across. 👌 my man’s knows his stuff. 💯🙏
You had me at 224 Jelly Belly Jelly beans, Joe! See you soon on other much anticipated content, including the ON THROTTLE event in the new Toyota GR hot hatch coming soon!
It's the hot hatch benchmark! It may not be the best in any one area, but it does everything so well! And their hp ratings are suspiciously underreported. As quick as you could ever want, especially with the excellent DSG!
I would choose a GTI over this, but this is really nice, too. I like how they incorporated the bottom red accent in the front, back, and side, it looks much better than what VW did on the new Jetta GLI. I also like the black on the back doors rather than body color that Joe preferred.
@@kenbeaver2683 it’s a love or hate thing with haptic touches but the infotainment itself is very easy to use. It works just like a phone essentially. Nothing is hard to get to and it all works well. I agree the climate could benefit from individual buttons but to be honest if you just set it to auto, you can adjust temp the same as a button would and that’s all you really need.
Love the vids raiti! But why does everyone keep saying GTIs are too expensive, yeah... if you get it fully loaded. I got my S manual for 31.5k (and I prefer the S trim... it has Knobs!). Civic SIs were 36K (dealer markups) and no elantra Ns in site. (Watch U-DRAG video on Edmunds, GTI beat the elantra N).
Great review of a fantastic beast of a car!! I've had my Phantom Black EN since June 2022. She is my 14th car (I may or may not have a slight obsession with cars) and hands down, my favorite of them all. While the red trim is a status symbol for the EN, it's just one of my least favorite colors. I wish they would have other color options available for that part. I have since changed the red trim to teal so she's looking quite extra now and I love it. I do also wish they would have added more ambient lighting or at least added an option for it. Of course I've added more because I like to shine bright like a diamond! 😊 I typically don't keep a car longer than 1.5-2 years...I think the streak has been broken for now. I'm going to hold onto her and continue customizing for sure. I think the only car at this point that would sway that decision would be if/when the Ioniq 6 N comes to fruition! Anyway, I super enjoy watching all of your videos! I'm incredibly envious that you get to drive and review all these cars!! I want a job like that!! 🤣
I’ve owned the 6 speed since December and about 15k miles. I’ve loved every second in the car and wouldn’t trade it for anything (well, mostly). For some reason I thought the “Death Star” would bug me when I first saw it on the regular Elantra. I honestly don’t even think I notice it… ever. The back is pretty stark but I appreciate the fact that they went with the alcantara and they are super comfy seats. Tons of leg room. The worst part about the car is the Bose system. It’s mediocre at best. The intense blue certainly isn’t its best color either
The blue body, the red on the rockers and the wheels make the car stand out. If it were white without the red accents and had different wheels, it'd be boring like a rental car.
Looks like a fun car, particularly for autocrossing. I'm giving the Elantra N much more consideration now since the GR Corolla is looking much more out of reach at this point as I can't wait till next year for a new car and still want something that is fun and practical.
I got a ceramic white DCT EN,only been a month with it and what a badass car for the money I must say. Definitely worth it if you're debating on getting one,it's my daily driver.
All of the N cars have slightly understated performance numbers, like with HP and torque, typically what's advertised is at the crank, where as the Ns all have the wheel HP/torque advertised.
Thank goodness for the room for the two PayDay bars, Joe!! Not to mention the space for 224 jelly belly jelly beans in the center console!! Thanks again for yet another good content video Joe and Lori
Have this exact car in my garage. Only 2 negatives i have found so far is ... 1) the lower seat bolstering is a bit constrictive. I'm a 34" waist with a 36" leg and I find my thighs can get uncomfortable if i don't make sure to position my legs a specific way so they aren't pressing on the bolsters. 2) The lock/unlock touch sensor on the door handles almost never works without several attempts which is odd as the older style button on my wife's Sante Fe works flawlessly.
@@nlmathias123 It's not harsh in the normal setting. It is still firm but compliant and not jarring, End of the day it's a track ready performance sedan...no getting around that. That may also be impacted by the quality of the roads around you. I'm in the south so the roads are pretty good. I could see where patchy roads and potholes may grate on you.
@@0.- how?!?!?! Which dealership and how can I do this? I would appreciate the advice bro. If I can't find a car before college starts next year (Arlington, TX doesn't have public transportation), I might have to live on campus or find a somewhat close (but currently even more overpriced than other areas) apartment to UTA.
@@JacksonWalter735 I just got lucky man. I told them a monthly payment i was comfortable with, and they based my trade in appraisal off that and helped me out. This vehicle is nicer than $100,00+ luxury vehicles. My advice is work on your credit, 700 is what you’ll need. go to a local credit union and apply there. you’ll get the lowest interest rate. got 5% interest on mine. not the best, but im 22 so i can’t complain.
My biggest criticism of the Elantra N, is that they didn't input enough HP and other performance enhancements, to directly compete with the likes of the Civic Type R and the Golf R. But still a seemingly great car.
Wow I have to say as much as I love this car I'm just a little disappointed as well. Joe you pointed out some real good stuff here. I also said that a few years back with the Veloster N. Give us a model that has better materials and functionality in that cabin. I want the luxury along with the power. If Hyundai is worried about losing 0 to 60 speed, then step up the HP like the Type R. Hyundai could have killed it here, 310 hp, 311 lb torque, then padded those hard azz doors, padded that dang grab handle, padded the center console trim. And +, you give the type r a run for its money. Honda doing its usual, sitting back waiting to see what Hyundai comes up with and then will make the R that much better.
Dude! I just test drove a 2022 Elantra N on Cyber Grey yesterday and OH MY GOD, it was N SANE! See what I did there lol but seriously, amazing vehicle!

$33,000 and you know that the majority of the money is spent on performance. It's probably $2,000 for just those wheels. They look better than what BMW is equipping with their vehicles.
I have to say, the best part of your reviews are your size guides. Jellybeans, swiss cake rolls, it's awesome. I want to buy one just to see how accurate your estimate is on how many swiss cake rolls fit in the door pocket.
No need for Brembo’s for the N line. I have the 2020 Veloster N. It would drive up the cost of the vehicle coming from a third party. I like how Hyundai design the brakes in house to keep the cost down. Brakes have enough bite.
Who would have thought an Elantra would be one of the best sports sedans you could buy? Hyundai is killing it right now. Would love an Ioniq5 too.

i got mine at sticker!! after calling 20 dealers lol and only 2 hours from me
If you are around Philly, Hyundai of Abington is selling at sticker. I bought a limited hybrid but know for a fact that they have N's that just came in
Yup I just bought my cyber gray from abbington hyundai. Got at msrp and yesterday they came down to invoice. Picking up on Tuesday. Not they got 4 in and all 4 were pre sold including my cyber gray
@@tmdgm2436 congrats! I had to pre book too. But it’s not much of a wait
Just got mine home today. Very impressive vehicle. When it came to performance cars I've always been an American muscle fan but this car is so well built. Its something else.
I feel you my dude. I went from a challenger scatpack widebody to a veloster n dct and I couldn't be happier. I've had way more fun than I ever did in my scatpack.
@@slimv3.162 you bet.
@@slimv3.162 awsome! At least you can leave the needle in the redline til you manually upshift. Hitting the rev limiter somethimes its amazing .
Really good looking Elantra N so far! I am sure I will love this!
It is a blast!
I personally love the color combo with the blue bodywork with the red trim around the bottom. It's a cool contrast. Shame that one of my friends doesn't fully understand how far Hyundai and Kia have come, especially when we're talking about those two concept cars that were shown off not too long ago. Not to mention, these N cars sound amazing unlike some of the competitors with stupid soft limiters.
As a Veloster N owner, I feel people need to break from the dated Hyundai of old mindset. Times have changed.
@@TheRealJohnWack I totally agree.
Great review Joe, looks like a great deal for the Money. Times are tough and so I’ll have to hang on to my 14 Fiesta ST, it has 100,100 miles on it and still runs and looks Show Room. What makes your videos the best is I know you are going to go Full Throttle as you say. The Fiesta Flash 🤙🏼🍺🍺🍺
I hear you Mike. This car looks & sounds like lots of fun; impressive. Like you, I have to hold on to my great Black 2018 Ford Fiesta ST and no complains at 44,500 miles. I am keeping it for a while.
At 12:40 , you do have the option in the settings to increase the brightness as well as customizing it to any color you want it to. But yes it’s defaulted to look like performance blue!
I like shape of rear wing..don't want all cars with same design..great vid.
I have a DCT!! Came from a Veloster N. I've also owned 3 Santa Cruz SEL premiums and a Limited. I love anything Hyundai, Kia, and if course Genesis!! My Elantra has a resonator delete and jb4 tuned on E30 and oh my God.... Incredible!!!! I actually turned down a purchase on a new SS Camaro because the Elantra N is the funnest car I've ever driven!!!
Good luck!
Traded in my 2022 gti SE for a 2022 Elantra N back in late July ., had a bunch of vw’s in the past ., gli’s gti’s and an ‘18 golf R ., as fun as vw’s are they really don’t have much soul ., so far loving the Elantra N for the performance , looks and the exhaust sound ., never thought I’d buy a Korean car but of the price / performance I don’t think there are many other cars that can beat it in that range .
does the N ride much stiffer than the MK8?
That is so very awesome! Thanks for sharing that!
@@HarryTwatter A little!
I was a bit iffy about the red on the splitter, but as you were explaining the vehicle and going around it, I actually really like the red accent, ads a unique style to it. And btw, you have the best in depth reviews I’ve ever came across. 👌 my man’s knows his stuff. 💯🙏
Happy Friday Joe
Another great review from Raitis ride 👍👍👍
I own a Beemer M3 and test drove the 2023 N and I was extremely impressed! Awesome Job Hyundai. Love it
You had me at 224 Jelly Belly Jelly beans, Joe! See you soon on other much anticipated content, including the ON THROTTLE event in the new Toyota GR hot hatch coming soon!
Every car is compared to a VW GTI because the GTI is so good.
It's the hot hatch benchmark! It may not be the best in any one area, but it does everything so well! And their hp ratings are suspiciously underreported. As quick as you could ever want, especially with the excellent DSG!
Those pops and crackles sound so good. Hyundai is coming into its own. It's crazy how much they have improved from the beginning to now.
2 row suvs shouldn't exist and there should just be 3 row or sedan with a hatch
I disagree with that statement. We car enthusiasts still love our Cayennes, G Wagens, and Broncos.
Thanks for your thoughts!
6 passanger sedans need to make a comeback
I would choose a GTI over this, but this is really nice, too. I like how they incorporated the bottom red accent in the front, back, and side, it looks much better than what VW did on the new Jetta GLI. I also like the black on the back doors rather than body color that Joe preferred.
The red accents they added to the front of the new GLI’s look terrible in my opinion.
The VW infotainment is horrible
@@kenbeaver2683 it’s a love or hate thing with haptic touches but the infotainment itself is very easy to use. It works just like a phone essentially. Nothing is hard to get to and it all works well. I agree the climate could benefit from individual buttons but to be honest if you just set it to auto, you can adjust temp the same as a button would and that’s all you really need.
Why would you choose GTI over Elantra N??
Love the vids raiti! But why does everyone keep saying GTIs are too expensive, yeah... if you get it fully loaded. I got my S manual for 31.5k (and I prefer the S trim... it has Knobs!). Civic SIs were 36K (dealer markups) and no elantra Ns in site. (Watch U-DRAG video on Edmunds, GTI beat the elantra N).
Former 2019 GLI owner, yes its better, but I ended up in a Santa Cruz with the 2.5T and yes that's an awesome vehicle too.
I had 2017 Elantra sport 6 speed manual turbo and it was so fun I loved that car so much and it sounded so good with an exhaust put on it ❤
I think GTI would be the way to go. Just a fun little car. But the Hyundai N is looking very good! Just the interior leaves a lot to be desired.
So I'm assuming all your cars have all been short leases? Since you mentioned you don't keep cars longer than 2 years.
I really like the red it really gives it a sport looking.
Thanks for letting me share it with you!
Joe you are awesome!! Love your reviews! Long time subscriber here. Thank you for all of your hard work sir!!
That means the world!
Awesome job Joe. I love the color with the red bottom lining and the design In general is a solid 8/10 maybe even a 9/10.
Good luck finding one! Have only seen one in person in the last few months 😣. Would love to see this trim in a forte 👍🏻
Goddam, that thing is quick!! Awesome review, Joe!!! F'ing get it!!
Such a sharp looking car!
I am so glad that you approve!
I just wanted to search for this car on UA-cam and now I got this video notification 😁
It was meant to be!
The review I’ve been waiting for!
I think you so are so very right Chris!
Love this review! I just started to change some things on mine. Men cant wait for the summer to driver it back again!
Look's like a blast to drive! For 35gs makes this really affordable.
Especially in Massa Bidens America #GasPrices
10k markup here in Georgia ;(
You can get it for 40k if your lucky in today’s economy. I paid 41k for mine , but they gave me 6k for a shitter trade in so I took it
Love the color combo on this example
That empty space on the dashboard is perfect for a suction cup phone mount
I got a ceramic white DCT EN,only been a month with it and what a badass car for the money I must say. Definitely worth it if you're debating on getting one,it's my daily driver.
a black elantra n with that red to make the n stand out gives me a james bond 007 vibe loving it
As a VN owner in PB...enjoy your EN's, peeps! Hyundai N performance is here and times have changed.
Imo GTI is way better, however it's more likely competitor is the ionic which looks pretty neat too as a hot hatch
I’ve been waiting for this video
These hyundais look so nice
You better believe it!
4.8 0-60 if factual very impressive little sport sedan ! Kinda want one 😏
All of the N cars have slightly understated performance numbers, like with HP and torque, typically what's advertised is at the crank, where as the Ns all have the wheel HP/torque advertised.
Didnt expect 4.8 0-60 with 286 hp. Definitely understated
@@wavyhomeboy The estimated crank hp is around 320 I believe
That was a fun review. I had a 2016 GTI that was 220 hp and was such a nice fun car. I am looking at this N or the KIA K5 GT.
Love you guys ❤️❤️
We love you too!
I like this car a lot, i had a focus st for a while and that thing was fun and practical, this runs the same numbers
Picked mine up 2 weeks ago, couldn’t be happier!!
Thank goodness for the room for the two PayDay bars, Joe!! Not to mention the space for 224 jelly belly jelly beans in the center console!! Thanks again for yet another good content video Joe and Lori
Love my 2021 FK8 but this looks like an absolute blast to drive!
Trust me it is!
Just picked up my Elantra N dct in cyber grey last Friday. Such a dope car!!
Also this car does not have wireless Android auto or Apple car play. Wired only
You also don't need to move the shifter to the left to use the paddles
Have this exact car in my garage. Only 2 negatives i have found so far is ...
1) the lower seat bolstering is a bit constrictive. I'm a 34" waist with a 36" leg and I find my thighs can get uncomfortable if i don't make sure to position my legs a specific way so they aren't pressing on the bolsters.
2) The lock/unlock touch sensor on the door handles almost never works without several attempts which is odd as the older style button on my wife's Sante Fe works flawlessly.
How does it ride in its softest settings? Other reviews I've seen stated it's a harsh ride even in the normal settings.
The “death star” is for holding a phone with a metal case, it’s a magnet.
It is not a magnet.

ua-cam.com/video/xSDJjeQBuwM/v-deo.html Just going based off of this.
joe getting us want to buy all you review 😂 nice review
First time seeing him enjoy a car other than a BMW and Mazda
man if my local Hyundai didn't have this at $8000 above MSRP, I would have bought this as my reward for getting my masters and starting my career.
got mine yesterday for 800 under MSRP ;)
I think they should have used a red Hyundai badge on this car.
Between this, the Corolla GR and the Dodge Hornet, there's some interesting new options since I got my last 2016 GTI.
No on the Dodge Hornet!
My biggest criticism of the Elantra N, is that they didn't input enough HP and other performance enhancements, to directly compete with the likes of the Civic Type R and the Golf R. But still a seemingly great car.
Those cars are 45-50k this starts 32k so...
Love your reviews
Hey Joe, that "blue" strip is actually 64 colors ambient lighting. It can be customize any color you want!
No zonks necessary! This is a huge hit.
I am so glad that you approve carlos!
Watching this in my EN 😁
Nicely done!
Joe had fun driving this Elantra N. Hyundai is the real deal....
Dude! I just test drove a 2022 Elantra N on Cyber Grey yesterday and OH MY GOD, it was N SANE! See what I did there lol but seriously, amazing vehicle!
Joe, you can be honest with me. You take quick naps in all these cars before videoing right ? I get the feeling you probably don’t sleep much lol. You’re definitely one of the hardest working guys. Love your videos.
$33,000 and you know that the majority of the money is spent on performance. It's probably $2,000 for just those wheels. They look better than what BMW is equipping with their vehicles.
Close, stock replacements are $400 each.
I have to say, the best part of your reviews are your size guides. Jellybeans, swiss cake rolls, it's awesome. I want to buy one just to see how accurate your estimate is on how many swiss cake rolls fit in the door pocket.
Really nice. I wonder how this compares to the last Evo?
No need for Brembo’s for the N line. I have the 2020 Veloster N. It would drive up the cost of the vehicle coming from a third party. I like how Hyundai design the brakes in house to keep the cost down. Brakes have enough bite.
Yo Calvin have you had to replace those breaks yet it's about time for me to replace mine I'm just worried about the cost possiblely
@@ArcticN Never. Going on two years now. They still have the same amount of stopping power as they did when I bought it.
Everyone is a gangsta until the Sonata N Line shows up. The Type R Killer.
In my opinion in this market I’d take the Wrx
I went with this over the WRX Crosstrek 😂now if were going for WRX I would go for last gen... this gen kinda killed it for me.
It is always nice to have options.
Great review Joe .. would get one if the mark-ups wasn't so high on them
Crazy how expensive GTI is now and Golf R is pushing 50K. This smokes the competition
