My dad has Alzheimer's and its hard to get him to watch anything but he loves these train journeys. Thank you so much for taking the time and trouble to upload them
Hi, I'm sorry to hear your Dad suffers from Alzheimer's, although it is nice to know he enjoys these videos, the generally positive feedback makes sharing them a rewarding experience.
Likewise…my husband! One of our sons took this “trip” on the Polar Express, so when we saw this available on UA-cam…YAY! We would have loved to take it in person, but it would never happen. And here we are…a birds eye view, no less! Thank you.
I've rafted the Gorge many times and waved at the trains passing by, when I wasn't paddling madly. Seeing the river and the beautiful rocks again from this viewpoint is a rare treat. Thank you so very much.
This is amazing. I ran into this at random, and am kicking myself that I never picked up on the virtual train / drive / hike, etc, niche before. I can see me watching a lot of these from now on! Just beautiful.
Hi, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Other people have posted amazing "Driver's Eye" videos showing railways in countries such as Peru, Norway and Switzerland. The train driver has the best view and these videos allow us all to enjoy a similar experience.
Hi, how are you coping? I miss going out and travelling, but if that's what it takes, its a small price to get back normal life as quickly as possible. i hope you are keeping well. Tim.
Just watched with grandson. He’s five. Sat in his chair in front of video and played conductor. Whooo whooo. All Aboard 😎. Just beautiful scenery. Thanks for the trip. 😘
My mom's family is all from Canon City. I spent many summers kicking around that old town irrigating and haying. I remember the good old days watching Rio Grande coal drags coming through. Been to Royal Gorge several times - I remember riding the old Buckskin Joe railroad to the edge of the gorge and watching DRGW freights at the bottom. But, many things have changed over the years. At least there are still trains running the route and horns echoing off the canyons.... Thanks for this video. Brings back a lot of great memories.
Hi, I'm glad you enjoyed the video, those sound like some great memories. I have seen videos of the miniature railroad that used to run to the edge of the gorge, shame its gone. I will have to return one day, because there is a lot more to gorge than the railroad, I'd like to take a look at some of the other attractions.
Oh my God!! This video reminded me of the ride we took on the train in the summer of 1982. We had two children then, our son was 4 years old and our daughter was on 2 years. We enjoyed the trip then, and today you have rekindled our emotions again. The scenery was absolutely stunning. I vividly remember at the narrowest passage (the train stopped to allow picture taking), it was very scary. You almost feel the side of the mountain and rocks are going to fall on you. Thank you for bringing memories back!!
You must get a good view from the cab of your truck, but taking your eyes off the road can have terrible consequences, whereas a train driver can watch the beautiful scenery without the risk of leaving the road, so long as he keeps an eye his speed and the signals. I'm pleased you enjoyed the ride.
Hi, it is always nice to know my videos send people to sleep, it's what my wife keeps telling me. Thank you, I'm pleased you enjoyed the ride and I hope you feel a little better now 😊
I took a ride from K C to Needles, Cal. in 1966. I can say I am glad it was night time when we were in the mountains :) It was one fast train for sure. Love this video.
Yes indeed thank you to the train crew that attached the camera and you as well for posting this video I've been there many times but never seen it from this perspective and I also have trains in my genealogy and blood this was most enjoyable
Hi, I'd love to take the crew for a beer to say thank you. Now travel restrictions between the UK and the USA have eased, I'm looking to book another rail tour around the wonderful railways of Colorado. Cheers. Tim.
Thank you. I watch these because they are calming and I have always admired trains and the people who work in railroad industry. Would love to take one of these rides in the front seat one day.
Thank you, I'm please you enjoy these videos. For an extra payment it is possible to book a seat next to the driver on this train, but you will need to book it well in advance.
This is GREAT! I once belonged to the group that kept up the tracks between Waterville and Grand Rapids Ohio for the museum. I moved far away though. I miss it. Thanks for letting me tag along with you on this trip
Hi Janice, it was nice to have your virtual company, I hope it bought back good memories from your time at the the Toledo Lake Erie & Western Railway - tlew.org/
I also wanted to add, I have a 'connection' to these awesome train videos, for my grandfather was a track engineer for the Wabash Railroad, from Moberly, MO. He was self-taught in all the intense mathematics one would need to know for designing and laying out track - Did that for over 25 years, then worked 20+ years as a design engineer for the Army Corps of Engineers, designing locks and dams from Clinton, IA to St. Louis along the Mississippi. After that, he was VP of engineering for Weitz Construction (recently built the new airport in Denver) then was the VP of Delevan Manufacturing and invented the jet fuel spray nozzle that is virtually used in every jet engine in flight today! An amazing man. I'm but a *blip of what he was. Anyway, I am amazed and thoroughly entertained by your videos. thank you.
Hi Mike, your Grandfather's life story is really amazing, Denver Airport is a wonderful gateway to the United States, previously I'd only visited LA airport several times on my way from the UK to New Zealand, it was such an unpleasant experience it put off visiting the USA. Colorado is an amazing place, it showed the USA in a really good light, now I'm looking for a reason to return. I make my living as an engineer designing and making mold tools, so I really appreciate your grandfather's achievements. I'm pleased you enjoyed the videos and thanks for taking time to comment. Tim.
I turn the sound down and play legends of country radio. Amazing how it always seems to stay with the rhythm of the tracks. This is a good ride. Thanks!
Lovely start with a good healthy dose of train whistle. This is a heavy gauge train making all the beautiful noise one would expect from such a magnificent machine. Thanks Tim for your video. Sending blessings from Scotland as I now sit back to enjoy the ride as you've intended.
Hi, I hope you are keeping safe and well in beautiful Scotland. I love the sounds unique to American trains, the haunting sound of the locomotive horn echoing of the Canyon walls, along with the slow revving engine are a delight. I hope you enjoyed the rest of the ride. Cheers. Tim.
There is something magical about rivers and valleys in Colorado. Have been in love with them ever since first visited in 1965. This really captures the beauty of Colorado river courses and valleys all over the state.
Most of my favorite train rides feature, rivers, mountains and gorges, they are the most dramatic routes, often causing those who built them to come up with a whole range of novel ideas to conquer the most challenging landscape. Bonjour et merci pour votre aimable commentaire. Je suis heureux de vous accueillir sur ma chaîne et j’espère que vous apprécierez davantage mes aventures de voyage. Meilleurs voeux. Tim.
In 1988 I walked across the bridge over the "Royal Gorge"...was there with family; a little scary, but also very spectacular...I'm glad to have experienced this train ride along the Arkansas River!!...thank you.
Hi, I didn't get to walk across the bridge, something I would love to have done. I'm please the video bought back pleasant memories from your own visit back in 1988.
As a homesick native of Colorado Springs who's been transplanted to AZ, this video was a real treat for me, thanks for posting it. I visited the bridge many times and it's one of several things I dearly miss about Colorado. Thank you!!
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Colorado was amazing. I didn't have time to walk across the bridge, I'll have to return one day to see and visit some of the places I missed.
I hope you manage it. If you get the opportunity, try to get up to Manitou Springs, on the west side of Colorado Springs, and the "Manitou Incline". It's a narrow gauge, cog railway that goes up the side of Pikes Peak, one of Colorado's several 14,000' + mountain peaks. It will blow your mind. Cheers!
I visited a number of railways on this tour including "Pikes Peak", it was an amazing experience. Please click on this link to see a video of my trip - ua-cam.com/video/aoLcEx9-BDo/v-deo.html
Was there in 1994. Loved it. Crossing that bridge and the gondola ride was fun. Went to the bottom of the gorge on the incline railway cog. The opening between the slats looked huge from below. Haha.
Absolutely Gorgeous, I got chills when I saw the bridge, the last time I was there was in 1985, I hope to go again soon. I think I would have stopped the train to get out and touch the landscape. So Amazing. Great Video.
Hi Jessica, walking across that bridge must be amazing, I would love to do it. This was my first visit to Colorado, I would love to return and spend more time at some of the places I visited. I watched one of your videos - "You Raise Me Up (trumpet cover)", it was excellent and I loved the quotations.
Timsvideochannel1 Thank you so much :) I remember leaning over the side to take pictures and my parents freaking out. We drove the car across it, it was amazing. I love Colorado, it's where I want to live...eventually. I love trains too, you're videos are amazing.

Tim. Google Translate - Hi, I am pleased you enjoyed the video. This is a very interesting railway, it was part of the Denver and Rio Grande transcontinental route until 1998. Today it is a tourist operation, still carrying long heavy trains through the magnificent Royal Gorge. Best wishes. Tim.
I went on the very first train out when they brought it back many years ago and loved it , and went back three years ago on the dinner late run and it was amazing . Thanks for the great time Royal Gorge Railroad .
Hi Jerry, I'm sure the guys at the Royal Gorge Railroad will appreciate your comment, my dinner was very tasty, a perfect compliment to a really memorable train ride. Cheers. Tim.
This is so amazing it’s almost like the train came down from the heavens through the mountains I never thought railroads could exist inside the mountains this is awesome
Tim, another of your very interesting views from your travels. I found this locomotive based camera view led to more reflection on the investment in hours and planning to make a railway/railroad through such a torturous & inhospitable place. Let alone the separate building of a wooden pipeline - wow. 'Make do & mend' taken to extremes. Fascinating. Thanks for sharing another stunner. Peter
Hi, the driver gets the best view here, the history of the line is interesting, I included some links in the video description to give a bit of background information. I found the hanging bridge fascinating, a bridge that partly hangs from an overhead structure, who'd have thought of that? The challenges of those pioneering days fascinate me as an engineer (mechanical). I'm pleased you enjoyed this fascinating journey.
I AM USING THIS VIDEO FOR A SCHOOL PROJECT AND IT WAS REALLY HELPFUL, WE ARE USING IT TO WRITE A POEM ABOUT THE RAILWAYS THANK YOU FOR PROVIDING THIS RECOURSE.
Hello Rachel, the rhythm of a train lends itself to poetry, I love catching commuter trains into cities, you get a momentary glimpse of the lives people live, a shadowy figure in a window at night, children's toys in the garden, summer houses, friends enjoying a barque all seen in a fraction of a second, so many stories. I look at those in the train, reading, talking, looking at their mobile phones, they don't seen notice the world outside anymore than those outside notice the train. People, worlds apart even though they are only a few metres from each other. I hope your teacher appreciates your poem.
Great video- I love trains and ride em all the time that I can. Sounds like an F series leader and I have ridden behind them often. I grew up beside the tracks of the Old Pensy in York Pa. and watched all the troop trains pass daily. Thanks for making my day.
Thank you David, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I shot a second video showing this ride from an open passenger car from which the consist of the train can be seen, please click on this link to watch it - ua-cam.com/video/dIB6dPdMlGg/v-deo.html I have lived within hearing distance of a railway line much of my life, but most of the trains are simple units ferrying people to and from work or school.
I'm watching this video on VR on my virtual headgear it's just amazing. It's the train ride I always wanted to do but never had the time. That's not true, I had the time I just didn't do it. But now I feel as tho I am. Thanks for posting this scenic trip thru the Rockies.
In 3D it's even better and I speeded up the video because, to me, the train was too slow. The scenery was beautiful though. Now looking for a bullet train video from china.
@@jacksonmorganfroghin4815 There is a good selection of high-speed rides available on UA-cam from France, Spain and Germany. If you don't mind traveling a little slower I think you'll like this channel - ua-cam.com/channels/j-Xm8j6WBgKY8OG7s9r2vQ.html
Enjoyable reminder of watching the railroad. Thanks for the info on the current status of the trains. Growing up we used to travel along the Arkansas river to fish. This was back in the 1960's so no kayaking or canoeing or rafting then. The trains ran a few times a day but access from the road (US Highway 50) was very limited. The river had a lot of fish in those days and lots of water in great volume. Thanks for the video; it reminds me of one of the places where I grew up.
Hello Harry, those are nice memories to have. I wish I'd seen the railway back in the days when it was still a transcontinental route. I'm pleased you enjoyed the video. Cheers. Tim.
Thank you, I really appreciate your comment, most of the credit must go to the Royal Gorge Railroad Engineer who kindly attached my camera to the locomotive.
I walked across the bridge back in the 70’s as a kid. Remember being scared and in awe how the bridge could stand there and not fall. Just retired so hoping to make it back there sometime next few years.
Hi Maris, I am lucky to have seen so many railways around the world and it is always a pleasure to share my experiences. I'm glad you enjoyed the video.

Hi, I'm pleased you enjoyed it, when you mention Stobe, is it this guy you were referring to - ua-cam.com/video/vb_3OUHTpZY/v-deo.html Whilst the things he gets up to is a bit dangerous, its great to watch.
Hello Warren, I'm glad you enjoyed riding through the spectacular gorge and I'm looking forward to sharing videos from my recent Australian/New Zealand tour in the coming months. Always nice to hear from Australia, best wishes to you and Ingrid from a wet and windy UK 😊.
Hi, I'm glad you enjoyed the ride. Colorado's amazing, Denver looked a nice city too. If you make it to the Royal Gorge Railway, I'm sure you'll enjoy the experience.
The Royal Gorge Bridge comes into view at 23:49. "The Royal Gorge Bridge is a tourist attraction near Cañon City, Colorado within Royal Gorge Bridge & Park, a 360-acre (150 ha) amusement park located along the edge of the Royal Gorge around both ends of the bridge.[9] The bridge crosses the gorge 955 feet (291 m)[note 1] above the Arkansas River[7] and held the record of highest bridge in the world from 1929 until 2001 when it was surpassed by the Liuguanghe Bridge in China.[10] The Royal Gorge Bridge maintained the title of the world's highest suspension bridge until the Beipan River Guanxing Highway Bridge was completed in 2003, also in China.[10] The bridge remains the highest bridge in the United States and was among the ten highest bridges in the world until 2012.[10] The main span of the bridge between the towers is 880 feet (268 m),[note 2] the total length is 1,260 feet (384 m), the width is 18 feet (5.5 m) and the towers are 150 feet (46 m) high. The steel base structure is covered with 1292 wooden planks.[6] Passenger vehicles are allowed to cross the bridge, but only before park attractions open or after they close, times depending on season. Oversize vehicles, including large trucks, RVs and buses, are not permitted to cross.[2][11]" At 27:05 the bottom end of the incline comes into view. you can see a little shelter and a pedestrian bridge and overview platform that bridge the railroad line to allow people closer to the river. (Plus those weird electrical support beams... ;-)
Hi, I appreciate the extra information, the whole area is fascinating, I'd love to return one day to walk across the bridge and spend more time looking around the Park.
amazing geology on display. the bluest sky with the wispy white clouds contrasting. love how the engineer taps his horn to the rafters. thanks for uploading!
Our forefathers have left us with some wonderful reminders of life before air travel became common place. With all the climate change stuff going on, I wonder if long distance train travel will make a come back? I hope so, it is such a civilized way to travel.
This looks amazing! but for me, best train trip of the world is the journey between Bergen and Oslo! Best train trip of the world! ua-cam.com/video/mFuMkPur9_A/v-deo.html
@@Vovidi Too much tourist jabber in that video. Very little constant rate footage of the route, all from side windows. Not for me. You did a great job overall, but it's not a good video for route railfans. :)
There is something about trains of all types that fascinate people, myself included. A friend of mine had in his family basement very elaborate train systems. He used to spend a lot of time with his trains. All the neighborhood kids thought he was a weirdo. Then when I went to his house the saw his train setup, well, he was no longer a weirdo to me. I spent a lot of time watching his trains in his basement on a hot summer day. Thanks for this video. Very breathtaking scenery and is very relaxing to watch.
Hi, I've just returned from filming trains in Devon and Somerset (England). My love for railroads gives me a reason to go places, to do things, to make friends and be creative. The history behind the building of the railroads is fascinating, some were built to serve industry, others to take people to work or on holiday. In many cases the promoters never expected to earn a profit, but they didn't want their town to become a forgotten backwater with no means of getting products economically to the market place. Trains are so much more than a locomotive and couple of carriages. Your friend isn't the only person to create his own world in a basement, this is mine - ua-cam.com/video/0T_zWin1o7E/v-deo.html
Hi Ted, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I would love to have ridden in the cab, on the day I traveled cab rides were fully booked. The staff were really nice people and one of then very kindly attached my camera to the locomotive, allowing me to shoot this video.
@@Timsvideochannel1- When I was there in 1964 we drove our car across the RG bridge. As of May 1 only closed vehicles are permitted to visit the park and cross the bridge. No walking, no stopping.
@@algrayson8965 The current restrictions are understandable, hopefully we will get back to something close to normal soon, I'm beginning to really miss travelling.
Went there in the mid 60's and still recall how impressive it was. In three months a friend and I are going to spend a couple of weeks touring CO with our motorcycles. This wasn't on my list to see again, but now is.
This is one of the POV videos that I have watched to the entirety. 😊 Thank you for sharing. 😊 Thia is an awesome river and rocky mountain scenic view . 😊
Hi, the truth is I knew very little about the area, without Google I'd never have been able to answer many of the questions, but now I know just a little more, I would love to return at some time.
I was there in 1970, can remember walking across the bridge, if people walked in cadence the bridge would ripple with you on it. If I remember there was a finicular to ride down to close to track level . When we were down at track level a 100 car freight went thru, quite exciting. Thanks for the memories. Richard
Hi Richard, wonderful memories to have, I'd love to have seen a 100 car freight running through the gorge. I didn't have time to visit the bridge or any of the other attractions, maybe another day.
Bună, îmi pare rău să aud că nepoții dumneavoastră au autism. Este bine de știut că se bucură de videoclipuri ca acesta. Cele mai bune urări pentru 2022. Tim.
Thanks for this. I’ve visited the bridge a few times and always wondered about the railway at the bottom. There looks to be ruins of an older railway on the opposite side here and there., too.
Hello Tom, I didn't have enough time to visit the bridge, I bet the view is amazing. The remains you saw on the opposite bank of the river is an old wooden water pipe that used to supply drinking water to Cannon City.
Ah! Makes sense. The Bridge is fascinating mostly from the people with varying degrees of acrophobia who try to walk across. I think mostly it's well-meaning family members who think it'll 'cure' them that way. People were actually weeping from the fear. Hard to witness.

Some comments point to other places greener or more dramatic. Granted, this is not the Alps or the Grand Canyon. It is a place with its own qualities and charm. Beauty is in the eye and experience of the beholder. There is a quality of feeling in this drier terrain, the subdued colors of xerophylic plants, the hundred shades of brown and gray in the rocks, the miracle of flowing water in such a place, the intense brightness of sky and clouds, the sense of isolation, despite the sounds of the train and the rafters in the river. Is anyone rafting upstream? Watching the video, one could almost say "the heat." The environment feels challenging and unforgiving. Of course, we love the Alps, dwarfed in turn by the Himalayas, and the Grand Canyon, dwarfed by the Mariana Trench at the bottom of the western Pacific.
Hi, I enjoyed your reading thought provoking comment, your analysis of what constitutes beauty matches my own, it is not right to compare places, because in their own way all these places are unique and beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I'd never seen anywhere where the scenery felt so vast as it does in Colorado, just like in the old Western films. We live in a beautiful world and I feel lucky to have visited places I never though I'd get to see.
Hi Tim. Thanks for the like-minded reply. I really appreciate that more than a year and a half after uploading an iconic video, now with 1.2 million views, you're still reading and replying to comments. A lot of UA-camrs upload and simply move on, leaving their abandoned children strewn across the Internet. I just watched your "UA-cam Trailer for non subscribed viewers, aimed at showcasing the range of videos available on Timsvideochannel1." In that video you use a cheerful ditty to stitch together a lot of snippets. This reminds me to thank you for using only natural sound in the video here, where no music is needed, as the visual flow of the canyon already has its own unity. Usually nothing puts the viewer in the place and moment better than both seeing and hearing it, although sometimes that can be technically challenging. I just subscribed. -John.
@@alwaysuseless Hi, it's nice to have you on board, I hope you'll find this channel rewarding. Most of the comments make interesting reading, some people are reliving their own journeys, others are looking for places to visit, many are just curious, but my favourites are virtual tourists. For one reason or another (age, no longer mobile or simply can't afford it) they look for another way to take a holiday, they do it by watching a number of videos about the same subject/location whilst looking up points of interest on the internet, their comments often highlight things I'd missed. This aspect of UA-cam sets it apart from regular TV, it is truly interactive. My wife points out the comments from people who use railway videos as a kind of screen saver where the regular rhythm of the rails helps them to relax and sleep, she tells me videos send her to sleep. I try to include the original soundtrack where possible, unfortunately the camera has a way of picking up inappropriate conversation, music for which I don't have a licence and wind noise. Sometimes I do use music, but I try to limit its use to a minimum.
Presumably you could edit out a recorded sound of whatever duration by gradually diminishing the volume to zero a few seconds before the sound you want to eliminate, or in the case of a more or less constant sound such as wind noise, simply reduce the volume. Obviously the result will not be the ideal, but might be the best overall effect possible. Sounds like you're already doing the best you can. No pun intended.
@@alwaysuseless Hi, the editing software has many tracks, if there is a sound I want to replace I fade it out, whilst in another track I can fade a new sound in, then reverse the process to return to the original soundtrack. As an example, if I am recording a train ride and someone speaks to me not realising I am filming, I edit the film by simply removing the speech and replacing it with sound from elsewhere in the video. I still use music sometimes, but it is often not popular, people want to hear what they believe is the original sound track, it is tough to find music everyone likes. Over the years I have built up a large library of sound - bird song, a busy station, a train stopping or starting, crowd noise can often be used to disguise unwanted wind noise or speech. I am just an amateur and it is challenging to please everyone, but overall from the comments most people are happy with my approach, they soon let me know if they are not.
Yeah, judging from the aliasing in the phone wires to the right, it looks it's upscaled from 720p too. Also, the sample rate is too low for preserving all details in the grass and water. But hey, I'd say it's still in the top 5 on UA-cam.
You and me both, I think there is a long line of people in front of us. Hey, but the next best thing is to book a cab ride and hope the driver/engineer lets you sound the horn.
@@Timsvideochannel1 It would have to be the U.k or the euro lottery , the one here is not worth a lot , but no , i dont do any of them .
Hi, its nice to know to know this video rekindled good memories from your own trip through the gorge. It is an amazing place.
Purely visual highlights:

This is great nobody talking just the train ride. I love it. I’ll subscribe.
Hi, I'm glad you enjoyed it and look forward to sharing future adventures with you.
I’m a long distance trucker. It’s nice to see the scenery with someone else “driving”. Thank you!
You must get a good view from the cab of your truck, but taking your eyes off the road can have terrible consequences, whereas a train driver can watch the beautiful scenery without the risk of leaving the road, so long as he keeps an eye his speed and the signals. I'm pleased you enjoyed the ride.
I'm sick and unable to sleep at 3am. This is very beautiful and relaxing. Thank you so much!
Hi, it is always nice to know my videos send people to sleep, it's what my wife keeps telling me. Thank you, I'm pleased you enjoyed the ride and I hope you feel a little better now 😊
Get well soon! 🙏🏼
So rugged yet beautiful at the same time. Thank you for posting.
Thank you, I'm pleased you enjoyed the ride.
I went on this train with my children in 1982. We all loved it.
I took a ride from K C to Needles, Cal. in 1966. I can say I am glad it was night time when we were in the mountains :) It was one fast train for sure. Love this video.
You must have some great memories from that trip and I'm pleased you enjoyed the video.
Hi pretty how are you
nice cup of coffee, took a few days off from work, watching your videos! Great work, very relaxing...
Hi, it's nice to know you are enjoying these videos, I'm going to make myself a nice cup of coffee now.
I rafted the Arkansas River years ago. Still one of my favorite memories. Thanks for this beautiful footage. 💟✌🙏

Hi pretty how are you doing today? Your look charming
Wow! Amazing scenic beauty in that gorge! Thanks for posting!

Amazing scenery, the railroad, the images. Congratulations!
Thank you, I'm pleased you enjoyed the ride.
And yet some could find it boring and uneventful! Huh!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!! It's so great to escape from city life and still be in bed whilst enjoying a beautiful journey.
Thank you, I'm pleased you enjoyed this trip into the wilds of Colorado.
I hear this train every day. I love how its horn echoes off the canyon walls. Drenching our whole town in the sound.
I love your description of how the horn sounds, that's a noise I'd happily live with.
Excellent video. My wife and I took this rail excursion the morning of July 10, 2018. Certainly worth the money spent.
Hi John, it's nice to know you and your wife enjoyed the ride and hopefully the video brings back pleasant memories of your time at the Royal Gorge.
Tim.
There's lots to see over here. Most of it is good. :)
Your grandpa sounds so cool. Thanks for sharing his accomplishments and your appreciation!🍎
It’s funny watching ole buzzards, the way they do math. How you doin you ol’ buzzard?
One of the greatest cab ride videos ever, absolute must see. Excellent job man and thanks for sharing!
Hi, I really appreciate your comment. Thanks you.
I turn the sound down and play legends of country radio. Amazing how it always seems to stay with the rhythm of the tracks. This is a good ride. Thanks!
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the ride and it makes good sense to choose your own soundtrack.
The Fourth Watch ò
Tim.
It feels so good to see some people rafting from the train.
The rafting looked like fun, I'd love to have ago.
Awesome! I'm glad you saw it. I hope I didn't sound like an ass before, I just get excited about home. I'll definitely check out the link, thanks.
Hey, there's nothing wrong with getting excited about home, especially when home is somewhere like Colorado.
I love everything about a trip on a train, or a video of it. The sounds just draw me right into it. That vibration rattle is killing me!
The vibration is a bit annoying, but its doesn't affect the second half of of the video as the train returns back through gorge.

I'd certainly recommend it. Colorado has a wealth of great attractions and this is right up there with the best of them.
Been there, done that. Recommend it to anyone visiting there.

Was there in 1994. Loved it. Crossing that bridge and the gondola ride was fun. Went to the bottom of the gorge on the incline railway cog. The opening between the slats looked huge from below. Haha.
Is it Japan, may by
Absolutely Gorgeous, I got chills when I saw the bridge, the last time I was there was in 1985, I hope to go again soon.

I was there many years ago also. When I visited in the 90's it had changed a lot. More commercial now.

It really is breath taking scenery, the view from the train is absolutely awesome.
Thank you, Tim. This is awesome. It's also a lot closer to me than your New Zealand videos.
Yes, it is a nice video.
Thanks for the video here. I have never seen such a beautiful railway alongside the channel.
Hi, I'm pleased you enjoyed it, it's an amazing railway.

Cheers. Tim.

Thank you, I never made it up to the bridge, I wish I had, the view must be awesome, I can imagine walking across it must be really scary.
I walked across the bridge back in the 70’s as a kid. Remember being scared and in awe how the bridge could stand there and not fall. Just retired so hoping to make it back there sometime next few years.

The Royal Gorge Bridge comes into view at 23:49.
"The Royal Gorge Bridge is a tourist attraction near Cañon City, Colorado within Royal Gorge Bridge & Park, a 360-acre (150 ha) amusement park located along the edge of the Royal Gorge around both ends of the bridge.[9] The bridge crosses the gorge 955 feet (291 m)[note 1] above the Arkansas River[7] and held the record of highest bridge in the world from 1929 until 2001 when it was surpassed by the Liuguanghe Bridge in China.[10] The Royal Gorge Bridge maintained the title of the world's highest suspension bridge until the Beipan River Guanxing Highway Bridge was completed in 2003, also in China.[10] The bridge remains the highest bridge in the United States and was among the ten highest bridges in the world until 2012.[10]
The main span of the bridge between the towers is 880 feet (268 m),[note 2] the total length is 1,260 feet (384 m), the width is 18 feet (5.5 m) and the towers are 150 feet (46 m) high. The steel base structure is covered with 1292 wooden planks.[6] Passenger vehicles are allowed to cross the bridge, but only before park attractions open or after they close, times depending on season. Oversize vehicles, including large trucks, RVs and buses, are not permitted to cross.[2][11]"
At 27:05 the bottom end of the incline comes into view. you can see a little shelter and a pedestrian bridge and overview platform that bridge the railroad line to allow people closer to the river. (Plus those weird electrical support beams... ;-)
Hi, I appreciate the extra information, the whole area is fascinating, I'd love to return one day to walk across the bridge and spend more time looking around the Park.

Thank you for a great video! I keep looking at the river for a place I might want to go trout fishing.

I don't suffer from a fear of heights, but even I'd be wary about crossing that bridge.

Wow your Royal Gorge train ride is fantastic! All your train route videos are very enjoyable. Thank you so much.
Thank you, I really appreciate your comment.

Absolute best video quality of any train ride on UA-cam, thank you for your posting.
Sorry, but no. HinduCowGirl has solid 60 fps video, complimented with beautiful views of Norway. This video needs a lot more frames. :)
Yeah, judging from the aliasing in the phone wires to the right, it looks it's upscaled from 720p too. Also, the sample rate is too low for preserving all details in the grass and water. But hey, I'd say it's still in the top 5 on UA-cam.
OK! So we can see where have been! Cool!
Been there and seen that in 2007. I was above and looking down into the gorge!
O.k , where do i sign up for this job . I dont even want a pay check
You and me both, I think there is a long line of people in front of us. Hey, but the next best thing is to book a cab ride and hope the driver/engineer lets you sound the horn.
@@Timsvideochannel1 That would be an expensive cab ride from Ukraine )))
@@MrTarmonbarry Wow, that would set you back a bit. Do you do the lottery? 😉
@@Timsvideochannel1 It would have to be the U.k or the euro lottery , the one here is not worth a lot , but no , i dont do any of them . Did them for a long time as an individual and in syndicats but never had any luck apart from the odd £5 or so now and then so gave up on it.
O.k , that made me curious about how much the Ukrainian lottery is worth , its about 9hundred thousand pounds
@@MrTarmonbarry That will get you there, Good luck 😊
some of the most beautiful scenery i've ever seen.
It is something special, I really enjoyed visiting Colorado.
I enjoyed the video thoroughly - thanks to all who had a hand in it.
Hi, I'm pleased you enjoyed it. The engineer on the day attached my camera to the front of his loco. I'm really grateful to him for making it possible for us to see the railway as he sees it.
Amazing view !! Thank you for the video , i'm from indonesia 👍,
Hi, it's nice to hear from Indonesia, I'm pleased you enjoyed the video.
Incredible !
I'm pleased you enjoyed it.
Amazing! I loved the views and ride. It’s also enjoyable stoned 😁
Cheers I'm pleased you enjoyed, I smiled when I read the last part of your comment :-)
😆😆😆
This is a terrific video. It was posted less than 60 days after my wife and I visited the Royal Gorge in September 2017 during our vacation trip out West (we're from Indiana). The view was breathtaking. On our way back to our hotel in Colorado Springs, we stopped at the rail station in Canon City, CO and saw the train, but our schedule did not permit us to travel on it. This video gives us a great virtual memory. Thanks for posting it!
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it. This video was taken in September 2017. I would love to have had more time to explore, but I was travelling with an organised tour group and time didn't permit me to visit the bridge, maybe next time.
If you're in Southern Indiana, Frontier flies to Denver from Nashville frequently for less than $100 round-trip.
Spectacular scenery and railroad. Thank you for making and posting this video.
Thank you, I'm really pleased you enjoyed it.
