You want to limit your thinking to one backswing thought or feel, and one downswing thought or feel.

- Former PGA Tour Player, Larry Rinker, worked with sports psychologist, Dr. Richard Coop, who wanted him to limit his thinking to just one back swing thought or feel, and one down swing thought or feel. He said if you are thinking more than that, you are thinking too much. Dr. Coop worked with Payne Stewart, Larry Mize, Corey Pavin and many others. Less is more.
I am having good results with my "feel's" I play left handed but am right handed, Backswing right bicep above right peck, Downswing right arm perpendicular to ground with a down/up release fwiw
Love this and agree. When you say “swing the clubhead past the ball” is this an active wrists getting rid of angles and throwing the clubhead past the chest? It’s not a passive move right?
@@jawjuh1005 yes correct. It’s an active move. The arms, hands, and wrists are active not passive.
What do you think of using the baseball swing drill. I just do that and then think of hitting the ball past my chin. Is that okay?
I have an 8 handicap. I am 74 years old.
If that works go with it. I just had a student in a three day school, who hit his driver better with the baseball step drill, than he did keeping his front foot on the ground.
I don't move my feet. I just use it as a drill before I use a regular upper core swing. It helps with my hand release.@@LarryRinkerGolf
