I like graveyard shift. That means you can get your car smogged in daytime, get tires changed, do errands, doctor appointments. Can't do that stuff at night.
I currently work for allied in California. The pay is decent, and I don’t do squat. And I’m a shift supervisor. Easy money. Ya it’s boring but a hate working labor/construction. The only that’s stressful to me is being asked to work 12 hour shifts constantly. But it’s still the easiest 12 hours you’ll ever work.
@@atlasg2402 Nice bro. Ya different sights pay different. I know some of the hospitals here in Ventura ca are paying guards like $21. All easy money bro.
@@davidevan4461 im trying to get in allied myself but they take a minute to contact you after phone interview any tips? and what do you do watch cameras?
I work for allied currently as an Elite Officer in Texas, I actually love it. 22$ an hour isn’t bad, and all the overtime you want. Long/boring hours, but I’m simply grateful to have a job. Try looking at it from a different perspective.
My son works for allied - been there 4 months as security guard. Was 40 hours week and just got told yesterday they were dropping to just weekends due to “ a change in contract “ ? I feel bad because he was happy there but for them to do this so suddenly is so unprofessional. I don’t blame you for leaving
Please keep your children out of that industry. It's not good for them. I mean I know your child's an adult and has to make that decision but still please please get them out. It will ruin your life with them. I know for sure.
I used to work as a security guard for like 3 years and then quit. Honestly being a security guard overall is an okay job. It's not the worst job in the world but it's also not the best. The biggest problem I have with that whole industry is the scheduling. Like I did the graveyard shifts for about a year and then had to tell them I couldn't work those types of shifts anymore because it started destroying my health and I started getting these really bad migraines and throwing up. So thankfully they blocked that shift. But then there's also the whole double shift/mandatory overtime bs which is legit bs because the supervisors or managers make their problems your problems and you're just like, "yo wtf I thought I was getting off now, you're telling me I'm forced to stay for another 8 hours, man this some bs." One time I was forced to stay at work for 20 hours straight. I was so mad during those last 8 hours I almost abandoned post but I just sucked it up by not even working. Was just playing music on my phone and stuff. The job itself is alright though. Some places are worse than others though. Anyways I hope this shines a light on what people are actually getting themselves into when they sign up to become a security guard.
Yeah those double shifts are str8 ass. It’s not our fault you guys pay low and can’t get any personnel to cover the other shifts. I got places to be outside of work and I’m a student but you want me to do a whole 16-20 hour shift then get mad when I say no like isnt 8 hours enough for you? I’m fine working a 10 hour shift, 12 is pushing it but anything beyond is ridiculous, especially when you agreed to work w/ part time hours.
The problems im having with Allied Universal are that they always want me to work overtime at least 4 hours after my 8 hour shifts and they only give two 10 minute breaks per 8 hour period with no lunch time. Allied also doesnt allow us to do anything to help pass the time either, not even read books or magazines.
@@nanashi5139 Its super easy work and can be good money if you work in places like airports you will be making $18-$20 an hour for unarmed security guard work but it can be difficult to stay awake because they dont allow you to look at your cellphone, read anything (books, magazines, etc), listen to audio books, listen to music, etc. Basically your trapped in a post either walking around for your whole shift or staring into the void of boredom.
I work in a call center and I've worked my way up the ladder, but man I just can't handle the stress of that job anymore. That's why I applied for Allied. I did the online interview thing and now I have a phone interview so we'll see how it goes. After having to deal with angry and entitled people on the phones all day you make this job sound pretty great haha. But we'll see.
Watched this before starting at allied & I was like you're tripping thats sweet. Now that I work here I get why some would quit bc they're doing "nothing". It's a cool job if you have online classes or another job you can do virtually. I'm happy I'm not doing a customer service job. I do miss having someone to talk to at work though.
The crazy part is all other security companies are the same. I learned that the hard way. The last one only paid in checks and they bounced because the owner had a gambling problem and used some of the security officers money to pay for it. Plus it feels like high school when you’re an adult 😂 it is easy money but it’s not worth it in the long run
NYC is not getting that pay at all. I've been applying and find many are 15 dollars with maybe a few 16. They are not going that high at all. Idk where they are working.
8:31 …. It’s not your jobs responsibility to further you….thats on you to study for certifications, school work, etc…..really sounds like you left because you think you’re job is supposed to shape your life’s path when it’s not. Also I just saw some of your videos, you're in good shape King! Think about a trade, a lot of them end up being good hobbies too! Trades are involved in the arts, plumbing, fixing, etc. Such a huge field! Easier to get into than I thought and I discovered passions I have. Anyway do what works but personally I think security is a bad job on every level.
For certain positions you need experience ,some you dont but that info should be in the description at the start of application. Yes its an actually interview where you gotta go sit down and all but its more on the relaxed side, it was more of a conversation about the position of the job.
I left the industry since it's a scam finanically. The amount of work, stress, and respect is not renumerated properly with the pay. Im sorry but at least in Canada when I see security guards, I feel they're suckers. Good people, getting scammed by being conviced that to show you're a good person you have to work security. Don't believe it.
Also while I might have a clean crimina abstract, a lot of the people I work with now might, and do, not, and they're better, nicer people that many who don't have a criminal record that I've worked with in security. also we all make twice as much as average at the lowest pay, than a security guard at the highest, so yeah ,suckers. Peopel with criminal records are making more than you still. Don't think otherwise lol. A clean criminal record and being dumb enough to apply for a security job shows the recruiter you're a sucker to believe this is appropriate.
