Allied didn't care about my college level education and wouldn't even make copies of my certificates to put in my file. They hired me at a low level despite my being more educated and trained compared to others. They put unqualified people in supervisor roles and management. They would promote guards who dont deserve it. Unprofessional behaviors between guards were rampant and the site was poorly run. The online and on-site training was pathetic. I left the company quickly.

thanks for the heads up about your situation. I've been working with Securitas for over a year and while my boss is a bit laid back, he's mostly on top of things and in his defense, he's really old, like 70s. I work overnights alone and I can say that it's very quiet where I'm at and I haven't had to deal with any crazies like you get at the mall, let alone any shootings. Overall though, I know what you mean - I've worked a lot of low paying jobs in sales and retail and bad management / bad coworkers are the number one reason I've left jobs in the past. I wouldn't let it get you down though. Not all posts are like what you experienced. my goal is to get into a job like firearms instructor or maybe being a cop. Honestly I don't think anything will be easier than this job but I feel like I could stand to do a bit more in an environment I know and like, (ranges, using firearms) and be a lot more fulfilled. I do 12 hr shifts on weekends overnight and it's kinda killing my social life! Overnight is great because I don't need to deal with much on site but it definitely sucks not being able to go out and meet friends and girls when most people have off. I feel like I sleep away the days and spend all my weekend nights sitting in a guard shack in the dark. Hope you're well and that you've found a job that you like and are good at - it sounded like you were good at your security job and things could have been different if Allied management treated you right. God bless you brother and keep after what makes you happy

Allied Universal is a very unprofessional company that treats their employees like cattle. They have supervisors in charge that have no experience to do their jobs. I showed them muiltple permits I had. Went over the training, and experience. They didnt have the knowledge of what I had. Allied Universal isnt ment to be a career based job. Its ment to get your experience to move on to something better. If only the clients knew how bad they treated their workers. Not sure what your goals are. This goes to anyone seeing this. I been doing security for a long time. Doesnt matter what permits you have. If you want better opportunities to where you have better negotiating power during the interview. Get military police experience or law enforcement training. This is going to allow you to have better opportunities to where supervisors cant b.s with you. With crime rising. This will help you in the long run. Allied Universal is a honestly a joke. From what you went over in thr video. You honestly should pursue that unless you have other goals in mind. The mental health issues are getting worse. Im seeing it at both my jobs. Once again I seriously encourage people to look into military police training so you have better negotiating power to make more than 18 to 20 bucks per hour. Push that pay into 35 plus, and beyond. Also the manager I was meeting with. She was over an hour late. I should of walked out. That should of been my red flag.

You're speaking of Allied Universal as if every branch was run the exact same way. That's not the case of my branch. I am a supervisor, I have never missed work, I have never called in, If sick I deal with it like I should. I don't make any excuses for any reason. I lead my team by example and my local office supports me in every hiring decision for my post because they trust that I -along with my team will do what's right and what's on the book. It's not fair for you to make a blunt statement like that without basing it on facts. Just like the US has 50 states there will be 50 ways of doing things at Allied. I have worked in five other states and some branches were more professional than others.

    • @lofivibes3640
      @lofivibes3640 Рік тому +3

@kalulew the unfortunate truth is yes they are. Security work works against you. You pay for state training on your time. Security work will never be a career unless you gain military experience or law enforcement training. Its probably different in other states. California is ridiculous. The security companies goal is to see how cheap they can be to maximize profits on their end. It even goes as far as hiring security guards that wont sue them for labor law violations. I been doing it a long time. I constantly check the matket. Armed security right now is maxed out at 20. Thats disgusting, and unacceptable. Its the same pay as unarmed security work. Supervisors positions are 18 to 25 depending on the company. And you work for that money. The issue with supervisors with hiring to this day. No experience at all in security work. They don't understand nor care how expensive it is to maintain permits. I keep running into supervisors that don't even know what a CCW is. Yet they are hiring for armed security. Most don't know what a PC832 is. During the holidays we had muiltple incidents happen where law enforcement was involved. I did a report. When I finished the report. I reached out to all 3. Only one responds back saying copy. No one checks on the job site, or does a follow up. One claims to be going into law enforcement yet I somehow pass more information law enforcement related than he does. Its not even worth doing security work without the other training. With how bad the economy is. Seriously again military experience just suck it up. Or push hard for law enforcement. I also forgot to add how ridiculous some of the interviews get. I applied for a armed security position ccw at 35. 1st interview went well the second one got stupid. I was told I wasnt able to get the job due to not having SRT,FBI, SWAT tactical experience. They wanted, and expected me to have experience to jump out of helicopters. Clear office rooms in a tactical manner. They wanted Rainbow 6 siege type experience. They wanted me to also carry flashbangs with me while wearing a suit. I seriously thought this was a joke. I thought I was being pranked. But no they were dead serious. That level of experience puts you around 75 to 100 plus per hour. This was a corporate office building in a nice area. The crime stats were not bad for that area. To ask for that level of training. And to only pay 35 for it is insane. Its stupid. No one is going to take that position. They wanted a full on tact kit. While wearing a damn suit.

What they'd LIKE, in skill sets, compared to who gets hired are usually pretty far apart.
I've worked huge tech company's, small businesses, schools, currently at a Global Tech Co. And am finally making enough money to get current, & STAY current on my bills and get a little money ahead.
Next month, I apply to Social Security and Medicare, so that will "kill" money going out for Medical Insurance, AND give me a little cushion of income there.
Then try to hang in for another 5 years until retirement. And "Goodbye, Allied!"

Your experience is very typical of most private security jobs. 90% of the folks who stay in the job are highly unmotivated and lazy. The lack of quality training, lack of decent wages, and a lack of motivation to do better makes the industry a horrible place to work. Most see it as an easy job where they do the bare minimum to get by and the majority of companies are hurting so bad for people they don't say or do anything about it.

The problem with a lot of security companies like Allied is the fact, a lot of the Operations Managers were just guards on a post who got promoted to their position, so they are not college educated in the ways of professional management and therefore are "dihks."
When you get a good company with good management that doesn't favoritism, things are wonder...I know, the best boss man I ever worked for...I still know his first and last name to this day and that's saying a lot because I'm bad with names and will not remember your name unless you were something special.

Usually it isn't much better for investigators. A red flag to me also is the fact that Allied wants me to use my own laptop computer for company business!!! And why I've seen so many of them call the police or even go hands on for people taking photographs in public. If you are guarding a public building and a member of the public asks for you name and id number you have to provide it. The only time a security guard can go hands on is to make a citizens arrest, which means anyone could go hands on in that situation. Observe and report.

They pretty much higher worldwide I believe our nation why not sure. But you see them a lot in New York City and they horrendous. I have no idea how the New York City doesn't have no clue of how horrendous this company is which they have several contracts for New York City probably State and also Federal. Allied Universal all they do is buy small companies out and they take over it's all about money they don't care about your health they don't care about your safety they don't train you. Pretty much they just hire people from the streets that they are looking for a job send them to a location with no training not not knowing what to do. That's it it's all about having a body with a uniform and a security presence. They'll put you in a really bad location and they don't tell you nothing about safety what to do they don't tell you anything they horrendous. And you stay in a job like that I understand is because you might need couple of dollars. But they don't care about you at all. They are nationwide company they can replace you anytime any moment they don't care. Look at the history and all the lawsuits that they have nationwide is crazy. I know a girl working for Allied Universal she was posted in a Bank of America at Night by herself watching ATMs. I told her how she's going to use the bathroom she was told by a supervisor to see if she can find a basement and use the bathroom there. And then go back to post so you tell me if that's a good place to work for or not

I used to work for Allied Universal and they are the worst of the worst, the managers are awful and they simply dont care, now I do security for the Trump Organization which is in-house security and let me tell you, theres never "no-shows", that shit is not tolerated, everyone has respect for one another and the work envoronment is more of a brotherly bond. Highly recommend you ditch contract security and look for in-house.

I had a stupid supervisor that tried to write me up for insubordination. I was supposed to call different sights in the area once every hour for a safety check. Well, I got distracted one night and forgot to do it and he said I was insubordinate. I told him that I didn't refuse to obey an order, I just forgot to do a duty. His boss told him later that that wasn't insubordination. Dumbasses in all walks of life.

Get life experience, go to school, police agencies are hesitant to hire folks under 25 most of the time, due to maturity levels (males brains don’t fully develop until mid to late 20’s). The more experience you have on your portfolio the better, many young adults do security, it’s the usual paving stone to law enforcement, so what makes you better then them? Gotta stand out. Be prepared to be deferred if your under 25, it’s not that your not fit for police, you might just have some maturing to do, even if you don’t agree but it’s biology.

I just find it crazy bc its really a easy job but don’t say anything to anyone and don’t think there your friend bc there not . And never show that you are upset. I still working here but I may ask for a transfer.

this entire video sounds to me like you - as the new booty, had too much of an opinion and set a "complainer" standard for how the supervisor saw you, not enough overall experience for the amount of complaints verbally submitted, AND you developed an opinion based on the personal lives of others be it "cheating on wives" or otherwise.
best way to get along in security no matter the team or team leads, is to get in, do your time, get your money, and get out. everything else is noise. security is THE EASIEST job EVER, if you make it easy.

I'll be honest with you like take my word on this...... Allied will hire anybody and the job only works or benefits scumbags too include myself when it comes to work, like I was in school for IT shit, like I literally took that job so they'd hold my clearance until I finished my degree and then I skated and the whole setup worked for me, I could bring my laptop in and hotspot and not do shit while I got my school work done and I got paid...... now if you're wanting excellent leadership and progression I would not go to allied, its not going to work out for you if thats your profession , definitely not lying to you
