Half of ABA recipients meet the diagnostic threshold for ptsd due to it. Denying ND children needs/wants until they perform something that is painful/undesired also conditions them to accept ab*se later in life
I have a rare brain condition called Septo Optic Dysplasia. Having SOD caused me to be born totally blind, and it also caused me to be on the autism spectrum, and I have complex PTSD. Fun fact, blind individuals do a lot of things autistic people, but we may do a little bit more things that autistic people wouldn’t do. These are called blind isms,. Blind isms can include, head shaking, rocking, sitting with your head down, touching and exploring everything, ETC. Autistics can do the same thing, which is called stimming. Being that I have both blindness and autism, I do both of these things. I love them! I’m in music therapy and talk therapy, and we’re working on ways of healing my complex PTSD.
Thanks for the video sir.yesterday we visited the doctor and he told us that our son is a CAS.so we have started to teach him some vowels. But watching this video it make feel that he's gonna make it . bcoz he speaks some words but sometimes he just make sounds of wat he needs .like if he wants music he'll say mummy[todo todo ]as he dances. Instead of saying Bag...he says bap .yet he can pronounce letter G.but thanks for the good job pliz I appreciate.
I am an adult and it ticks me off when I am trying to say something and people don't listen. I don't understand why people think that children are different or would be more regulated than that. edit: I want to point out that a lot of autistic adults are against aba and it can create a trauma response and be very triggering. I would advise to look into alternatives as I am not an expert on autism therapies. I am just informing, please don't shoot the messenger. also I have ASD and due to Sensory processing disorder. what would you recommend in that situation?
Hope, you need to ask yourself who you wanna be and what kind of goals do you have for yourself. Answer that and you'll know why you wanna seek for help.
@@AgentsofSpeech actually I am pretty happy where I am right now. I made this comment to help parents of kids, especially those with ASD and SPD. I did this by suggesting that they look for alternatives to a possibly traumatic therapy and also informing them that there is a comorbidity called Sensory Processing Disorder which would lead to their kids not enjoying "normal" things kids would like tickling. We are on the same side here I would like to think.
I alwys try to teach my son during chores to speach, he gives me this concentration eye contact but won't say the word,. instead he'll smile or laugh and turn away as if he gets that i want him to speak.
