That mum is so impressive in her open communication during that sit down. She’s not blaming him, she’s trying to open his eyes and work with him on addressing the issues they have, and openly stating she is as much to blame. She emphasises that the family love each other but things aren’t perfect. She’s clearly very intelligent and empathetic.

Long Hair Boi people aren’t one dimensional. You can be ‘athletic’ and toxic. And quite frankly, him raising his sons to be emotionally distant and allowing them to say homophobic slurs is immensely toxic. Maybe you don’t think so because you were raised thinking all that is okay, and maybe you weren’t and you just generally support toxic masculinity, but quite frankly that is the definition of toxicity and it’s backwards and repulsive.
