It's so important to me that Jo just accepted that Meagan didn't want to hug her and told her that it was okay- she could just wave from the window. Allowing kids to set boundaries is very important. Kids like Meagan may even appreciate it more at the time than you'd think

No child should be forced to allow anyone to touch them, except for cleaning, medical reasons or moving them from one place to another. No child should ever be forced to let anyone hug or kiss them.

Wow.... How do parents let their children get to this point? Slapping and biting guests in the house, and yelling in their face? I can't even imagine that.
Nothing will stop that but beating. Even the girl said the many didn’t change anything after she left
@@chelseahancock6933 It will if the parents stick to the discipline. My guess is the mother at least went back to some of her own ways
Exactly. I raised 2 kids on my own, and my tolerance would be zero for the insanity from these kids. Thank God they asked for help because mom does NOT know how to parent. She does not set boundaries or rules, and dad tolerates it to keep the peace with his doormat, passive wife. It’s absolutely unfathomable. But it’s in almost every case that Jo deals with.
Wouldn’t happen in my home. I can promise this!
My two children knew better then to talk that way. It’s all how 😅raise them and how you as parent allow them to act!!!
The parents realization that their daughter was capable of hurting another adult hit them and made them realize how dangerous she really was.

Honestly it was amazing how supernanny just stood there. No harsh reaction, just calmly said ‘this is not okay’. I was honestly in awe at how she handled it
That’s why she was so good at her job. As an adult it would be hard to not get frustrated in that situation especially if you don’t know how to handle it. Children don’t always know better though and screaming at them or hitting them is not going to help it’s just going to make things worse. Jo understood this better than anyone that’s why she was able to connect with the kids
At least it’s a good thing to get super nanny here. I was in awe at how she wanted to make the family happier and stuff
I was in awe, too, bc that wouldve NEVER happened again if I were Joe.

When Megan goes feral, Jo counters it by going calm and even. So many parents would ramp up and respond just as angry, teaching the child that yelling and carrying on is ok.
She gets to leave
@@tracythehippiechickTrue enough but, as the adult and parent, it’s important to at least appear in control of your emotions even when you’re about to explode. Parents need to be teachers and examples to their kids. If they aren’t, it’ll effect the child when they become an adult.

Classic "simple" case. Megyn was once the only focus of attention. Then she got SISTERS who took much of the attention from her. "You ruined it", she screams at her sister. Denise is very perceptive - she felt an "aura" around Jo when they first met. The "sissy stuff" was an example of the family catering to the younger children and ignoring Megyn's needs Jo's introduction of the "Thought Box" in addition to the special one-on-one ice-skating time with her mother, restored Megyn's special place in the family. I never regretted not having children because I would have been in jail. This show just reinforces my great decision, although I doubt even my kids wouldn’t have been this bad.
I had five. None of them acted this way because from the beginning we did not tolerate disrespect. Oh, they were naughty at times, and difficult, and even bratty, but it simply wasn’t tolerated. Omgosh, ONE LOOK from my mom and it would’ve been game over. I’m 48 and we were taught respect and we were disciplined properly. Not hit or screamed at, but firm rules and boundaries. And my mom would say those famous words, “wait until your dad gets home”. Yikes, it’s rare to see 2 parent homes and not because there’s divorce, but even both parents who were still married would undo punishments and give the wrong messages to the kids. We need more “united fronts” kind of parenting, where the parents would discuss discipline and punishments in private and agree with each other.

"it's sissy stuff that means it's babyish"
Jo is far too smart to give her the satisfaction. The child has to understand that you are clearly more powerful, and that means the child's little slaps and hits and scratches are really nothing to you.
did you.. really count all that
Laughed so much at 28:30 when even the subtitles just give up on interpreting.
Yes, I like how she corrected the mom when she said her daughter is angry because of trying to control her. Nanny said no, because of setting boundaries. Parents need to understand which I totally failed at that we aren't trying to control our children but give them boundaries. They need to learn about boundaries early because they are going to have to set their own when they make friends or even with their siblings or boyfriend and girlfriend relationship. My kids are grown now.
I feel sorry for this mum. She's seems so nice.
But not very patient
@@lauracoles7507 yea, but very kind nonetheless
@@silverpelt0 She wasn't kind when she doubled Meghan's timeout. Also, she's 9 not 18! U don't double the timeout!
@@lauracoles7507 well, to be fair, Megan was misbehaving
@@silverpelt0 True
I think when the cameras aren't rolling, these parents are very out of control. These children are presenting learnt behaviours, the language and responses Megan uses don't come from nowhere....
If the kids were being beaten up behind the scenes they would probably be absolutely scared of their parents. What I see is kids that are abusive towards their parents
it was the parent's responsibility to have control in those situations, and they didn't - that's on them. They're the adults. the child's behaviour only improved after the parent's behaviour improved
@@pedromarques9267I imagine that the mother is abusive to the father. I’m sure the kids have watched done real big blow ups from mom.
That’s where Meagan learned
@@pedromarques9267 i don't think that's what she meant. The behaviour exhibited, shows the relationship between the parents. Meagan has this beviour from likely her mother, who acts like this towards her and her father.
Meghan’s attempt to correct Jo’s “unacceptable”😂
lol and btw awesome profile picture and I subbed to you:)
This show is the only birth control that’s 100% effective
am I the only one who was concerned about the porcelain that was in the reflection room? Like... I totally expected that kid to wreck it.

OMG this girl is way beyond just bad behaviour. It’s scary! Something is very wrong
What I appreciate of Joe is she respects the children’s boundaries and sees children as their own human beings, also acknowledging that the adults need to be the adult in the situation and not shout at their kids. I know my mum always disrespected me and shouted at me and never validated my feelings. As someone on the spectrum it would’ve been lovely being able to express myself and my feelings validated also to be able to have my boundaries respected, especially when i feel overstimulated and need to de compress in my room alone. And my mum knocking before barging in my room
So important to emulate correct respectful behaviour.
