  • After years of trying for a baby, Ann and Steve had IVF treatment and were overjoyed when they found out they were expecting twins.     Here’s the thing, NEVER force feed your children; no food means they’ll get hungry and will eat what they are served. It’s called natural consequences; children WILL eat and drink when they’re hungry and thirsty and learn that they must accept whatever they are served. It’s NOT that difficult.

      Having to eat school meals at age six put me off force feeding for good; My three adult children were never forced to eat, and my five grandchildren were never force fed either.

    The 5 year old twins knew they shouldn't be in nappies, for heaven sake. Good grief even force feeding. How traumatizing is that? Inhibiting growth, so it made the parents life easier, really? Thank goodness Jo, was able to show these highly educated "parents", how to parent.

      Supernanny made the good point of them eating pureed foods delaying their speech. I didn’t even think of that and it makes total sense. Also, when you’re around your kids or whoever every single day, you actually start to understand them and their “language” even when it doesn’t make sense or isn’t clear to others. The father didn’t even realize there was an issue with their speech and he wasn’t combative when it was brought up. He was surprised.

    The more I watch "Supernany", the more I get convinced I raised my kids in the right way, MY WAY, since they were babies...And they've turned into great men, great sons and great husbands.

      Indeed yes,would have been hopeless to start discipline at the teen stage .
      mine are now mid 20s mid and late thirties and mid forties.
      Naughty stepped religiously as preschoolers.
      As teens they where rowdy booming elephant footed boys or shrieking with laughter and borrowing my cosmetics and pinching my tights girls .
      Different music wafting from every room .
      They are lovely people and their children are now disciplined as they where.yea😂

    I broke my youngest of throwing screaming fits ~~ I started parroting him right back to him. He’d yell or scream & I would do the exact same thing back to him. His reaction was hilarious. I also marched him right to his bed and make him stay there until he figured out he could come out when he minded his manners.

    One major problem with that purée food is that the teeth and lower jaw don’t develop properly. Humans are meant to chew harder, more coarse food to develop the facial bone structure.

      I am amazed at Jo's lack of shock and judgment. With American familles, you can not only hear the judgment in her tone and words she 'whispers' to the camera BEFORE telling the parents off, you can see the judgment in her facial expressions. Her behavior is sooo different when she is working with english families. Smh

      Even three is past toddler. They’re preschool age now! These parents just don’t want any of their kids to grow up. They treat them like babies and it’s severely impacted their learning and development.

    KIds need to eat different texture no wonder they won’t eat they are treating like newborns Who the heck would want to eat food. Oh they are fed the same food just puréed.     All the judgemental comments are scary. Are all these people perfect parents? I doubt. This couple is overwhelmed. From the start they admit their shortfalls. They were eager in cooperating with Supernanny. I just hope that they eventually pulled it through.

      marthaof8 The woman did not herself seriously and so the children didn't. She behaved like an overgrown twit so her children treated her like that.
      If you've been advised not to laugh/snigger when disciplining your children and you go against that time and again, then you are not helping yourself.

    Adorable children! There is so much change, so quickly! My babies are 43 & nearly 42 now with children of their own, my daughter is soon to be Grandma ❤ I was incredibly blessed with well-behaved little ones & so have my children. Where was Suoer Nanny when I was growing up, though!! My parents had 7 children & it was chaotic constantly 😢 I was 2nd born. My older sister & i were taught to behave before the younger ones were born. Jo was most likely not even born, yet 😉 I do love this show ❤

    Our two year old son suddenly started to refuse dinner and when it was the third evening, I did not set the table for him. He didn't like being left out that way and that was the end of his trying us out.

    It's amazing that intelligent and educated literate people with advanced degrees who want to have families can't be bothered to educate themselves on basic child development and successful approaches to rearing . Most of this information is available in books that can be read while pregnant. It's not rocket science.

    You still can read stories and cuddle at bed time. That's an important part of pre bedtime ritual . In our family when we were in jr high even our mom would read several chapters of an adult book to us all together. It's calming, enjoyable and educational as well.

    The mother is ridiculous. -- diapers at night and bottles and ground food for the older kids! And then laughing when Jo teaches discipline. And then teaching them to take food from her plate, spoon-feeding him when he doesn't need it.. And then the mother sulks. She is inconsistent and gives them mixed messages, so the kids don't know the expectations. She is so awful and immature

    Perfect example of "just because you CAN, doesn't mean you SHOULD!" Lort that mother just urks me. Almost 3 and 5 years old still with bottles and diapers and eating baby food.... Seriously?!? So glad JoJo fixed this, hopefully the mother will stick with it.
