I used this exact router in a lift for 8 years and it just took a dump today. It's been a really good router and I can't say a bad word about it...even after needing to find a replacement.
Great explanation! Thanks for saving me from that mistake of positioning the router so I can’t adjust the height when the fence is in the right spot. That’s a big deal. I’ll be making a router table for the tra001 next month and I really appreciated finding this video! Great job!
Absolutely. Thanks for stopping by. Good luck on the router table build!
I also mounted the Triton under the table myself, but when I connected it to an external switch - it doesn't work? Does anyone else have the same experience and how to solve this problem? It is only possible to turn it on with the switcher on the router, but not the external one?
Yes, that's an issue with the Triton routers. That safety switch makes it nearly impossible to use with a remote switch (like most people would). Even in handheld use, that switch is maddening. It's due for a re-design.
if you remove the dead knob (the one without height adjustment) you need less space you can even mont parallel to the plate.
Okay thanks. For my setup the knob wasn't in the way. Good suggestion, thanks again.
Good information. I am working on my Triton today its been annoying to keep moving the fence to use the height adjustment rod.
Yeah I didn't like that either! Thanks
An easy way to locate the hole for the height winder crank.
Thanks for explaining that you will need to access under the table to reach the depth lock lever and the on / off switch. I do have an NVR on my table but TBH the added peace of mind of the second, locked power switch definitely appeals.
I think I'll be buying one of these in a few months time!
Infinity has the 2.25 hp model... www.infinitytools.com/ssearch?q=triton+router
or the 3.25hp model here... amzn.to/4aRZpsI Good luck with your decision!
I really appreciate your videos and this one is so on point right now. I just bought a new Kreg setup - the precision routing table/fence, pairing with a new MOF001 and didn't think of the Triton crank placement at all, so glad I ran across this before mounting. I'll certainly pay more attention than just following the stock directions now that you've pointed out that gotcha - really , thank you.
Thanks for letting me know. Good luck with your setup.
Hi thanks for your video, very helpful.
I think I would pre drill both holes the same as your plate.
Thanks for sharing.
Ps what part of the states are you in, your voice reminded me of Brookes from Shawshank redemption.
Thanks again. 👍👍👍
Thanks. I'm in the Pacific NW. Best to you.
Thank you sir, for making this video! I’ve been having a heck of a time trying to figure this out.
For any other viewers wondering if their Triton fits plate C, Rockler states these will, on their website: Triton TRA001
Triton TRA002
Triton MOF001
Glad it helped. And thanks for adding the additional information. Best to you.
Where did you find the winder handle/crank?
The winder crank comes with Triton routers. Thanks.
Thanks for this. I’m questioning my still in the box purchase. With better design from Triton this seems like unnecessary tradeoffs.
You should have spent your money on a Bosch instead of the Junk Triton..
I have Bosch and Dewalt routers as well, and use them accordingly. Tell me what you don't like about the Triton, I'd be curious to know.
