Atlanta is a business minded city, not a romance city. I live here and I paused dating to focus on me but I will get back on the dating scene. Besides that the city has been good to me. Atlanta isnt for everyone.
@@itslaurenmonique omg you second TRY? Girl the economy is not good right now. You’re better off moving upstate back to Chicago or up north to get resources and a decent salary. Atl don’t even pay enough to even try to “fit in” here.
Yeah the second try was definitely a huge mistake. The only good thing about here is that you get more when it comes to the apartments. Definitely trying to find a job in Chicago so I have a reason to move sooner
Great advice don't look for love in a major mecca city it's almost nearly impossible especially nowadays bc everybody is just trying to survive not really looking for love just make your money and if it organically finds you then that's great too
Atlanta was not for me either... I disliked everything about it except for the events like sports... I'd rather just visit for those.... It's overhyped and overrated... I was visiting ATL weekly for years but when I moved, I felt like I was suffocating and drowning in every way.... I still work my part time jobs there but not my 9-5 bc I transferred my 9-5 back home.... I am so happy to be back in my element.....!!
@killlamas57 West side is the best side. Pick your flavor. 80% of the population lives east. Look at other things besides culture. Instead of economy. Not saying look in to California.
I moved here from Miami and I like it here.. I don’t think I want to buy a house here and live long term but short term yes I’m a nurse also in Nurse Practitioner school I live in buckhead I’m married so it’s a different experience for me than for others, but I feel you. I love Chicago the food is so good the city a vibe best place I visited I just couldn’t live there.
Based on what you've said in the video, you don't like Atlanta because of the dating scene. You can have a great social life here in Atlanta if you don't put looking for love first.
I agree. I actually gave up dating after my first year in Georgia, but I have neglected my social life here so that could be a huge reason I don’t like it here
I moved to Atlanta in July of 2024 and I just told my sister that I can’t be out here, I’m moving back to Chicago where I’m born and raised or I want to try Charlotte, because I’ve heard nice things about it. But right now I’m honestly home sick and I’ve noticed myself feeling depressed since I moved here smh 😢
@ I’m sorry to hear that you been feeling a bit depressed as well, I can’t wait to go back to Chicago, I haven’t been there in almost 5 months and I’m hoping to be gone before my 32nd bday in March. I may go back home for a few years just way up north not back on the south side lol.
I’m from the south side as well but lived up North. I definitely recommend the Northside. I hope you get back before your birthday. Living somewhere that makes you unhappy is not good at all.
@ thank you beautiful, I’m praying I can move back before then too. I hope your time fly past as well so you can get back home to Chicago or wherever your heart desires💗
From Chicago, all 43 years; I lived in Baltimore, MD for 2 years between 2018-2020---and was forced to come back due to the pandemic. i recommend you NOT return to Chicago. I recommend Baltimore (live in Fell's Point or Federal Hill) with work commute to DC. Good luck.
Fall's Point and Federal Hill are 30-45 minutes from DC nightlife; 2-3 hour train-ride to New York, NY. If you're from Chicago, Baltimore's crime and culture is always 5 years behind ours. Baltimore is also having a real estate boom as well.
@@itslaurenmonique LOL! I know the feeling about home. I've lived in Chicago for eight years and spent the last four years in Edgewater. Before that, I lived in Norwood Park and Dunning. But Detroit is my home. I've gone back one weekend a month for eight years.
Greetings love! Love your videos!!🙂 I hate that you had a bad experience here in GA, I hope that you do find what works for you, However, I think you SHOULD STAY and continue to CREATE, and "make Atlanta work for you" in many ways that it can, not allow the negative "reputation" talk and superficial "hype" from others influence you, but from what you really do like about being here and most importantly, tap into your creative side more,🙂 What are your passions you want to pursue??? get more connected with groups, start getting around the people that share common interest you do, The city will give back what you put into it, As a "creative", & serial entreprenuer myself, WE Thrive here!, OK, Lets face it, there's a reason you moved from the midwest, I would highly suggest you just "RESET" and regroup, start planning more outings, and going to events more, and female networking groups, will boost you more! Truly, reinvent 💞yourself for ATLANTA.... (We sew seeds here, & then we reap the harvest, and then enjoy it even more!)
Hi! You are so right. I think I’ve spent my time here thinking about how much I dislike it, that I haven’t even experienced really living here. Even if I do leave next year, I think I need to use my time here wisely.
It is very lonely here and I agree with you I’m from Chicago as well I feel like people from Chicago we need a lively place to live we are not boring sitting in the house only seeing our friends at work or once in a while people we are very vibrant and Atlanta is not it’s so boring here I’m going home next year to a suburb somewhere close to Chicago because I can’t do it 🤣 I can’t do the jobs or the people with they fake social media lives here like do yall do anything else besides eat and hookah or be on social media all day….. wheew lol I feel you girl I’m glad you ventured out but yeah this is enough I’m ready to go and I wish you peace and blessings 🫶🏽
Three and a half minutes into the video, the blogger does not state what she dislikes about Atlanta. "The vibes are not for me" is fine, but why is Atlanta not for her? I would like to hear her reasons from someone who has moved to this city. This is a silly vlog.
It’s typical for any city, but vibes are something you gotta go experience yourself, otherwise it sounds petty most of the time.. I’ve heard countless ppl say they want to leave Chicago, but she’s saying she wants to go back.. Every city has the same thing to me, but vibe is personal.. I don’t like Atlanta btw 😂😂.. I lived in Honolulu and it’s boring after awhile 😂😂..
That’s sad 😢 I was thinking about Atlanta it seems nice I’m from The DMV but I kinda want to leave here I don’t even know moving seems like such a hassle . DMV is good cause of jobs and metro it’s very good easy to get where you need to be . Hopefully things get better but I’m glad I seen this so I’m thinking ATL is a no now lol 😆
Omg no don’t let me discourage you. Atlanta is a great city, just not my vibe. I’m so used to the Midwest and that’s just where home is for me. My friend told me I should look into the DMV, but I don’t think I can do the east coast. I would recommend visiting Atlanta for a few days to see if you can see yourself there.
This is from someone who grew up in both the DMV and the New England region. Don’t do it ! Ive been in Atlanta for almost three years and a half, everything she mentioned is absolutely true.
@ thanks yeah I’m probably going to stay here for a little while till I get myself together I been through a lot here so that’s why I wanted to move but it’s just I have no idea where the DMV IS EASY for me to navigate to get where I need to go main reason probably only reason why I like it here etc I need a place similar like that atleast

Being from Georgia (not Atlanta…. another town people mention), I feel it’s something off with that Slave state spirituality.
Part of how you feel happens if you move anywhere, but I think Atlanta will destroy your soul, if you have one
That sounds horrible but I can see how you can lose yourself in any major city.

There’s pros and cons for both cities
