      You're the reason I got this kit. It's really good for just posing whenever, and even with the v fin broken off on the right, it's still really durable. Gonna get that RG whenever I can find it.

    Just finished building this kit and I absolutely love it. It looks amazing and it's sturdy as he'll. Granted, the plastic feels a bit brittle and it's kinda scary to handle, but still solid as a rock.

      Lol, mine broke the front upper left part of the torso by itself near the gatling gun. Gladly, it was hidden, so no glue was needed and it is really hard to see it, so no harm done

      Some kits are just nice and fun to mess with. I love my RG Rx78 and Wing Zero EW, but the kit i spend the most time playing with is my cheap $12 HG Leo. Super basic, barely any detail, but I love the thing so much and it poses really well.

      @@wolfbrother9025 Honestly, I haven't had any issues with mine, maybe I got lucky. I messed with it a couple days ago and its holding up just fine. The one thing I hate are the hands, but again, I personally haven't had issues with it. I guess the legs come off sometimes when I move them, but still hold a pose without issue.

    Now looking back at this kit, is just simply amazing. The “Action frame” it is using was the very first iteration of the full body inner frame, it laid a very solid foundation and paved the way for what we have today.
    There is also an extra gimmick for this and MG Shinning, the SD version(2002 version) of those suits come with extra pose hands that are compatible with the MG kits. Such little detail added a lot of flavour for those kits, that’s one thing I like about those older kits.

    Got this one because I just love G Gundam. Now I got it arms crossed on my shelf along the MG RX-78 Origin. It is amazing how firmly it just stands there.
    Great review, really liked the instructions on how to paint the kit. While the RX-78 was more fun and easier to assemble overall, painting the God Gundam was a really enjoyable experience

    I wonder what is the definitive color for the energy multiplier in its chest; in anime is green, but for the model kits is yellow.

    • @redheadphones6
      @redheadphones6  5 років тому +4

      Yeah, like you said since it's green in the anime, I'd say that's probably the default, and the recent Robot Damashii uses metallic green too. But yellow is passable imo.

    This will be my first gunpla when it arrives along with a basic tool kit. I watched a good amount of the 2nd half of G gundam as a kid so I had a nostalgic soft spot when choosing this one. Does it matter if I don't care about adding marker and detail first time around?

      @jegtano7079 4 роки тому +2

      You can buy a pour type gundam marker. Not the best out there, but if you’re a beginner it makes detailing easier.

    • @jegtano7079
      @jegtano7079 4 роки тому +2

      Also, since this gundam and several gundam from the same era have less part separation compared to newer MGs, not panel lining the kits would make them a little bland. Specially the face area, without lining you wouldn’t see the vents on the mouth area.

    I think I'm going to pick up this kit by tommorow, is it ok if I buy a black Gundam marker so I can add paint to the black trims on the shoulders, feet and front skirts?

    • @redheadphones6
      @redheadphones6  5 років тому +2

      Thanks!
      That's what I did, I used a Gundam marker for everything. They're just so convenient. You'll have no problem doing the bulk of that trim with a marker. I will say for the shoulders, paint the trim BEFORE you snap them together, because the ink tends to run down the seam line once they're put together.
      Best of luck!

    How tight must the screw go deep? Alittle loose or tighter?

    • @redheadphones6
      @redheadphones6  5 років тому +3

      There's sort of a middle ground. Too tight and the joints become very hard to move and the plastic will bend and crack. I'd recommend going loose, bending it a little, then tightening a little more until you're happy with it. Best of luck!

  • @U.C.1180
    @U.C.1180 4 роки тому

    I think your scoring needs some adjusting. I have noticed that you tend to hold older kits to newer ones when we know that the technology wasn’t as it is now. Also I may add that God Gundam is probably one of the best looking kits at its time so your appearance score is hogwash. Easily a 4-5.

    • @redheadphones6
      @redheadphones6  4 роки тому +6

      Aside from this review being my opinion, you cannot judge a kit solely based on the time it came out. If that was the case, we would be recommending 1995's MG RX-78-2 to beginners because it was 'better than the 1980 kit' that came before. Everyone's standards for what makes a good kit is different, but for me, it's based upon how difficult it is to get a kit looking like it does in the anime. From that perspective, the legs of this God Gundam are still scrawny. This was even addressed in the Hi-Res kit, where the legs were beefed up. Not to mention the extra black painting (with no channels) is needed.

    • @U.C.1180
      @U.C.1180 4 роки тому

      RedHeadphones6 yeah you actually can because obviously people who are just being introduced to Gunpla, they are going to be going for the newer kits because they have the newer technology. And comparing them to oh I don’t know Master Grade Barbatos or Double Zeta Ver Ka completely alienates older kits like God Gundam, Master Gundam, Shining Gundam, Gundam Spiegel, RX-79[G], EZ8, Dom, and Zaku 1, which are all still great kits for the time that they are built that don’t have 2.0 or Ver. Ka kits. So no you shouldn’t be comparing them. If you are going to review kits you have to hold them to the standard at the time and whether you would buy them. The thin you go on about is the work to get them accurate to the anime is part of the fun of building the kits. If builders were that concerned about the work we’d just buy the MSIA toys or spend the bucks on the Hi-Res kits which are glorified action figures that you just add the armor on.

  • @Baddest_of_Men
    @Baddest_of_Men 4 роки тому

    My main gripe with the G Gundam kits were the fact that the legs were so limited at the waist. I bought the MG Master and God Gundam at the same time solely so that I could do their iconic pose together, which I then found out they couldn't do. Disappointing, to say the least.
