    Fun fact; Syd Mead is the designer of Turn A.
    ......while that in itself is well known, what is probably less well known, is unlike the mobile suits designed before the Turn A, the Turn A was designed with a full internal design graph with "built as an MG model kit from the start" in mind, as Syd Mead was fascinated by the MG model having a full internal frame and decided to design the Turn A Gundam with that kept in mind.
    The MG model of Turn A was in fact built according to Syd Mead's design and is the first model to have no PC parts for joints.

Afterall it was already designed by him, so that almost makes it an unnamed Ver. Ka. like the Sinanju Stein NT. Ver. As for RG, I still don't know if it'd be enough to top this, yea RG's have come a LONG way since the Grandaddy Gundam, but I almost feel this is literally the best Bandai could have done, aside from(and almost guaranteed to never happen) a 2.0, even though I don't see the need, or complete overkill with a Perfect Grade. The only downside is we don't get that seperate pilot figure for the cockpit, makes it a little hard to paint it and honestly discourages me to paint it like the Gundam Ver Ka and the God Gundam. Would I still buy either? Probably, but I juts don't feel they'd hold a candle to this

      The High Grade version is a pretty solid kit too. It's very much just a smaller, cheaper version of this kit. Even has the moving fins on the back of the leg. But being an HG, there's a few stickers, specifically the gray lines on the arms and thigh that are inner frame on this kit, the HG's cannon is entirely white and there's some red stickers on the legs. There's also some more require gray painting for on the legs. It's a solid buy for it's price, but this MG is my preferred Turn A for sure.

    I don't why this account recommend on my timeline. But sir, you just got a new subscriber.
    Oh btw, is this kit kinda rare these days? I found it difficult here in Indonesia

      Thanks!
      I just checked my usual shops, and yeah, this kit seems to be low on stock right now. It'll probably get a restocked in a month or two, Bandai's usually pretty good about that. I remember wanting the MG Ez8, and it was double the price because it was low on stock. I waited 2 months, got the restock and the price dropped to $10 below retail lol Best of luck, man.

    Really wanted to get this but now having second thoughts after seeing your review. The kit looks very floppy. And given that the issue seems to do with the ABS plastic, I am not sure how effective it would be to attempt to solidify the kit a bit with a layer of topcoat or thickening the joints with some varnish. It’s a shame because I really like the design and would love to have this kit to complete a set with the turn X

    • @redheadphones6
      @redheadphones6  3 роки тому +1

      It's still a great kit, it just loses some poseability over the years. It you already have the Turn X, then this kit would look great next to it. I say go for it. And if after a few months/years the kit becomes floppy, you could always try that top-coat or glue to tighten some of the pieces up. There are ways to get it solid again, but worse comes to worse, just having him standing next to the Turn X would be worth the price in my mind. Best of luck!

    I build one recently too but all the joints on mine are actually extremely tight to the point of being a bit scary to move instead of loose. But you are saying thats gonna change with time? Thats a bummer.

    • @redheadphones6
      @redheadphones6  5 років тому +2

      Yeah, it also depends on how you pose him too. But you can always go back in and tighten up the joints later on.

    If the cockpit is in the crouch with a glass dome there's no point in having a head

    • @matthewjoyner1595
      @matthewjoyner1595 Рік тому

      The cockpit is almost always inside the chest so there’s never been a reason to have a head, realistically. They do fill the head with sensors and that is how the Gundam “sees” but the head is completely unnecessary. It makes them look more human

    If you don't mind my asking(aside from a few exceptions) why do you tend to steer away from reviewing newer kits? Is it because so many other people review those already? Also, may be out of your comfort zone, but have you ever considered looking into(not so much as reviewing them) building some of the SuperNova Wing kits?

    • @redheadphones6
      @redheadphones6  4 роки тому +3

      For me, Gundam ended in the year 2000 with the last episode of Turn A Gundam. So I'm really only interested in suits from the year 2000 or before. I'm down to buy newer kits, I just want them to be older designs, ya know?

    • @Killdust99
      @Killdust99 4 роки тому +1

      @@redheadphones6 I can understand that. When I got into Gunpla about 5-6 years ag0, I had actually never watched a single episode of Gundam-anything. It wasn't till last year that I actually sat down and watched the entire series of Gundam 00. I'm a slut for the 00 deisgns. In fact, the RG Exia was my third ever kit. Before that it was the HG Zaku I Origins, and the HG Astorath. I also love designs like the Sinanju and Barbatos, but that's a personal taste. My heart and wallet will always go to true MG 00 kits though, which is why I loved the MG Dynames, and have a pre-order of the MG Kyrios, and prayers for a MG Virtue/Nadaleeh, 0 Gundam, and Exia 2.0. I can understand where you're coming from though

      3-4 years of age and occasional reposing. It's one of those things that doesn't really take effect until after a few months.
