00:41 No grade
02:06 first grade
03:36 High grade
05:15 master grade
08:00 real grade
11:13 perfect grade
No Grade varies heavily with some being quite good and are, essentially, HG kits but a bit less detailed than more modern HG kits. Mainly the Wing, Seed, and G-Gundam ones that I've recently built are decent, but need a bit more work with some markers and you might need to add some thin glue to what you need to build some as some of them have had stickers age poorly that they no longer stick.
I've got the 1/144 Serpent and Epyon and they're about the same as the ancient HG such as Guntank, Gogg, and GM though with a bit more polycap parts because they seem to have used that for the hands as well

I wonder what kind of nightmare it would be for the manufacturers and designers to make a Perfect Grade Unleashed for something like the Penelope or Full Frontal Neo Zeon.
PG Neo Zeong would be about 6 feet tall.
Mechanicore has it, is insanely detailed but very expensive and very hard to build.

Even as someone with no nostalgia for the early 80s gundam kits, there is something I find very charming about them despite how crude they are when compared to modern kits.

Good to see another G-Academy video. Very informative. Honestly Bandai could do something similar to what Kotobukiya does for the Liger Zero's CAS for IBO. G-Reco is way more neglected than IBO and it hurts as a G-Reco fan. The HGs for G-Reco are barely ever reprinted and has no 1/100 scale kits where at least IBO fans have multiple 1/100 scale kits.

Just bought my first gunpla kit and it turned out awesome , mg deathscythe ew hell version besides the skirt armor that falls off so easily, I really like the ew kits so I think I'm gonna buy the mg epyon or heavyarms next :)

my most preferred gunpla grades mostly Master Grades( mainly MGEX, the Gundam seed Remaster and 2.0 kits, and as wel as the Ver Ka kits), and my most preferred are Perfect Grades.

My first build was the HG aerial rebuild, awesome kit.. but I need a few to practice sanding and nub removal,those small kits might be perfect to learn scribing and panel lining too

Also might I add one more thing. I’m so thankful Justin is a IBO fan because I’m loving the show (I was into Gundams as a child and the older I got I didn’t get back into Gundam until like a month ago at the time of this message) Bandai definitely gotta gives more than just Barbatos. IBO offers waaaay to many Gundams to just skip over, however I do truly think and believe they’re planning on coming out with them they just trynna gear up for the release and all the hype. I’m sure the fan base will explode with excitement and ready to open their wallets

True. The cheapest one I saw was $460 with shipment + 300$ tax = 760$

For anyone seeing this after the release of MGSD. They are really good. They are just as articulate as the MG line but super deformed. Very detailed and lots of stickers.

There is also the HY2M (Hyper Hybrid Model) line back in early 2000, it comes with various scales, the biggest is 1/12 scale which is almost as tall as an average person, they are extremely rare and the price for the big ones are in the thousands(USD).

I really recommend the entry grade nu Gundam, just because it’s definitely the best of the 3 EGs and and it’s a tall boy, it’s my tallest 1/144th I’ve yet to get a HG taller than it
Full Mechanics was definitely not launched in 2021. It was launched back in 2016.
The mg 78 3.0 is pretty good tbh

high grade hasn't always been just 1/144 scale, they use to have hg 1/100 and hg 1/60 kits
Yes but the majority is 1/144 they only change it if it would be to small at 1/144

The "First Grade" displayed on this video is not a First Grade, but a No Grade 1980 kit. The actual First Grade RX-78-2 Gundam uses the 1990s redesign as seen on the early Master Grade and Perfect Grade kits.

In all seriousness though, pretty good video.
As a RG fan, I would say kits before Tallgeese can be really bad, like the Strike Freedom, a beautiful grenade, avoid at all cost unless you really like Strike Freedom, but not all of them are trash.
For example 00 quant is a great kits, nice looking with only a few noticeable issues.
Or MK2 gundam, an awesome old kits that is the theoretically perfect RG.
Also the unicorns, the turning points of rg, although still have some problems, but with mind blowing design.
I heard the gp01 is also great, I don’t have that one so I won’t say much about it.
But anything after Tallgeese, in my opinion, can’t be bad.

I don’t understand the sizing. So many tiny 1/144 grades. If I was to gauge the scales it would be like this.
1/144: XS Grades: EG, RG, HG
1/100: Small Grades: MG, MGEX, FM, RE100, Metal Build(figure)
1/60: Medium Grades: PG/U
1/48: Large Grades: Mega, Metal Structure(figure)
1/40: XL Grades: -
Personally, I don’t like anything smaller than 1/60 scale so Bandai is losing me as a customer. Maybe the small scales is an Eastern thing?

No where near every suit has an hg, that’s fairly misleading, but it it is a shitload.
You pricing for full mechanics is way too low. US average is $60-$100.
Yea US sucks. Went to Korea and the gundam bases there were selling it for $25-$30
