Kaempfer is one of my all time favorites. It's a shame we never really saw another in canon. I bet it could kick butt even much later in the UC, so long as it had enough reserve firepower available. I'd have loved to have seen a beam weapon capable variant.
If you look up the Kämpfer on Gundam Wiki, you’ll know that we see a few other units. There is also a beam weapon capable unit, no art of it from what I remember though.
Yeah, most of it is referring to variant model toys thst were thought of but never produced. Until one of these are animated it's unlikely we'll see another. I'd personally like to see an ace custom kampfer similar to uma lightning's himo gelgoog.
If you get bad nubs, we have options today to deal with it, such as glass nano files which have holes instead of grit t hat shave off anything that sticks out, but leaves the surface plastic alone. 'Raser' makes these in various kits and personally I recommend getting the bigger one with a buffer that polishes or mattes the surface as well as a denim cloth that gives you an in-between finish instead. This is extremely useful for snap-fit builders, but if you paint then this won't give you any advantage besides not over-cutting nubs - You should sand all the surfaces anyway. If you get a bright discoloration, you've stressed the plastic. Dark ones are less noticable and if you use the tools I mentioned, the surface will look uniform and the darker color will be entirely unnoticable except for a close examination. Hope this is useful for someone.
