shoot more on liveview ..... and you will see that the 1DX MK III can keep up with a mirrorless camera and it gives you the same results....I use the 1DX MK III and the Mark II and also even older bodies the Canon 5DSR for Landscapes and I also use a Canon 1DS MK III for portraits..... every camera has a specialty and a lens ........
I've always wanted a 1D-Series camera but could never justify the price tag as it most def was a want and not a need, LOL. I'll be interested to see how your use ratio evolves between the 1DX3 and the R5.
I don't know if you're still wanting a 1dx series but if you are, head over to ebay. I picked up a 1dx for $672 with 283k shutter releases (with a 6 month warranty from Roberts camera) and a 1dx mark 2 for $1275 with 173k. Canon guarantees to 400k so plenty of life for two amazing cameras. It's not the mark 3, but patience, the mark 2 makes me tingle inside.
Man I understand photography is not my main income either. Luckily I have been blessed to be able to incorporate it across my work industry. But honestly I do still prefer the feel of a DSLR
Nice video. I have the 5d4 and sometimes I think about upgrading to the 1dx3. How much of a difference in resolution do you notice between the 5d4’s 30mp vs the 1Dx3’s 20mp raw files?
The 5d4 is an amazing camera I actually until this year the 1dx3 and the 5d4 made up my duel pair. For me honestly I didn’t see a big difference in image quality where the 1dx3 for me shinned was in reduced noise. What’s type of photography do you do?
@@deancharlesanthonyii thanks for the reply. I do wildlife photography. I guess I was wondering how much leeway is there in the 1dx3 file if you crop a bit.
@@deancharlesanthonyii yeah that makes sense. The R3 does look great. But the 1dx3 I found is a very good price in the used market. So a few thousand cheaper than the R3 costs right now. I’m also a fan of the OVF shooting experience for now. Maybe I’ll just stick with my 5D4. It’s still a great camera.

I agree and love what you said about the 1080p video in the 1dx3. i shoot a lot in 1080p and it has to be one of the best 1080p ive seen.
Yeah people get caught in the hype of 4K and more when, and most people just need to be able to deliver quality.

Lol I made it a need. Right now the file details with the R5 is winning it for me

Photography is only a side income for me, so can't afford the beast. I did, however, recently purchase a solid EX condition original 1DX with

I love my 1DX3 👍🏾
Yea it’s a true beast of a camera
Thanks for the info
Just quick question Dean
How you justify keeping 1dx iii with R5?
Do you find 1dx iii better than R5 in some situations ?
Thanks
Honestly 1 harsh weather and still prefer it for weddings and events.

So I think cropping would be fine( the image would be slightly softer). But I would say you might want to go R3 best of both words. And cheaper

How much of a difference do you see between the 1dx iii vs the 5d4 in the viewfinder focus capabilities?
It overall brighter and more responsive
Thanks. I ended up getting one a few months ago and it’s amazing!
Used in Ukraine for combat photography
It definitely a work horse now the R1 is out i'm excited to see the comparison
Never sell your precious 1dx3 for any mirrorless camera not worth it.
Yeah it’s still in my bag for that very reason.
