Question: with basic tumblers getting cheaper on places like temu, can I just buy a pre painted white one, lightly scuff the paint and then go from there with the resin and glitter?
Is it okay to have a longer time than 4 hours between coats? If I can get to only 2 coats day one and then 3 coats day two, that wouldn't affect the cure time or cause any issues because it take a a full 30 days to cure?
Hello! I just ordered my first tumblers & crystlac brite tone! Your videos are so encouraging. I do have a question though. Can I use the crystalac over an acrylic tumbler? I want to use the clear acrylic tumblers so I can do a "snow globe" effect as well. Super ambitious for my first one but im excited!
Can I use CrystaLac to seal vinyl lettering to a Yeti type cup? No glitter or anything else, just a clear coat so the vinyl doesn't come off when washed. Also, my cup has a slight texture to it (hints why the vinyl comes off,) will that effect the CrystaLac at all?
@@AlisonCrafts I am recovering from my battle with Breast Cancer, it was over a 2 year fight ( it was an aggressive cancer) so Crystalac was the only option for me in my opinion, not wanting to take any unnecessary health risks, and needing to not add anything to the fires so to speak. It's a longer process, but safer, and I feel I will be able to get to the finish line without giving up.
I been working on a tumbler and used epoxy ass glue for my glitter but I developed an allergic reaction, so I don’t wanna epoxy anymore. Can I use brite tone on top of it for the sealing process? Also do I have to wear a mask when sanding or is it safe enough not to?
Yes you can use brite tone on top but I actually recommend Grande finale! thecrystalacstore.com/products/grande-finale-fast-dry-tumbler-coat?_pos=1&_psq=grand&_ss=e&_v=1.0&sca_ref=301559.RjXXsfrXmN
i just got my BT and im not sure how i know if im putting on too heavy of a layer ? and i let it spin for one hour and let it dry for 3? you said every 3 coats - sad..right ? please help !! lol
What if you're using a tumbler that's already the color you want? For example I have a powder blue tumbler that I want to add glitter to the lower half of. Do I still need to sand off the top coating from the store?
Hi there! Question, so after you do the BT and sanding, is the last step BT with no sanding? When I end with sanding, even when I rinse it off, it dries “milky” looking 🤔 Thank you!
What if you need to add another coat of glitter????? Do you wait 2 hours - add more Glitter glue and glitter... dry for 2 hours then do the BT coats??????
I’m just finishing up my two tumblers using brite tone for the first time ever. But I keep getting finger streaks and bumps(air bubbles?). I’ve tried measuring 2-3ml I’ve tried using less, I’ve tried using more, I’ve tried using a little heat, I’ve tried bare finger and with a glove. Please help! WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?
What would be the advantage of using this over epoxy? It seems like a very similar process. Also - do you need a spinner? Could you just leave it to dry hanging somehow?
Brite Tone is a non Toxic alternative to Epoxy. There are lots of UA-camr's out there using Epoxy without proper PPE, I don't think it's something you should bring into your home. Plus many people have allergies to Epoxy and will develop such allergies after handling Epoxy. I am definitely going to try Brite Tone. There are too many risks when using Epoxy.
I've thought about using this stuff instead of resin,,,but you need SOOO many coats on your tumblers!!! It would take days and days to create and finish a tumbler. As much as I dislike finding the right resin and using it with all my safety gear, it's faster because you need less coats. And sometimes you don't need to sand in between your coats of resin! Too bad. I thought this stuff would be a great answer to resin alternative.

I love this! I’d like to cover messed up sublimation tumblers so I have to sand to get the poly coating off or is their a product I can use?
Thank you so much I learn so much from u
I'm brand new but I love bling
❤
Welcome!!!
Thanking I’m trying to Learn this

Been trying to make my first crystalac tumbler today. Dana Merritt has been my Angel
Yes she's amazing! So glad you're getting started - don't hesitate to reach out if you need anything!
I've been a epoxy user. Trying crystalac for the first time. Im not using glitter. Can I use for just a vinyl design?
Idk how to water slide.. I'm learning, but if I wanted to use a sticker can I? Can I use brite tone to seal the sticker image?
Can you do a tutorial on 10oz wine glass from Hogg, using crystalac products?
Thank you for this video! It is sooo edcucating...
What size of Crystalac do you get and about how many cups do you get out of it?
Is your enrollment course more detailed? You’ve inspired me to give crystalac a shot.

So if I want to use spray paint as my primer, can I do any spray paint or does it have to be like a spray primer specifically. Thanks!
How long does it take from start to finish to make a tumbler? Thanks!!!
I've been making these for awhile now. There are LOTS of steps plus curing time, I'd say 1 week minimum.
It depends on the design and your experience. Hard to say…could be a few days or a few weeks! You’ll get more efficient as you make more
What is the brush you are describing for the brite tone. I can't find in your lists.
How many total coats are going on one tumbler?
My glitter tumbler does not have a smooth surface I don’t know if I need to add more layers to get rid of the bumps??
Were do you get the stuff that you are using can we see what it looks like

yay! of course you can, just prep it first with 400 grit sand paper!
@@AlisonCrafts i snooped the rest of your videos & saw a short tutorial on how to prepare them :)
Hi I'm wondering cam you use alcohol paint with the crystalac?
About How many ml of universal white per layer of the base coat?
Have you had the issue with white cups having a yellow tent after curing
I like to put a coat of epoxy over my vinyl on the Starbucks cups. Can the bright tone be used on the Starbucks cups?
Yes as long as you prep properly!
Sou brasileira, encontrei seu canal pois estava procurando como fazer esses copos ❤
Where can I get the best glitter

Have you tried this yet?
I've been watching you for a couple months while I was deciding epoxy or crystalac.
Let me know if you need any help figuring that out! I use CrystaLac so I can use it safely inside my home and not worry about my health or my family!

Your brushes dont come up in Amazon,,, can you add the link for just the brush??
How do you strip a tumbler?

If you need to do a second layer of glitter, at what point would you do that?
I'm confused. In the end, about how many coats overall are you putting of the bright tone?
4, dry, 3, dry, 3, dry 3, dry. Sandpaper after each dry. If not smooth, do it again, 3 coat’s dry sand.
Is this better then epoxy? Like would it last as long as an epoxied tumbler?
Better? subjective. Safer absolutely 100% yes. It will last as long if not longer!
Can you add mica powder to universal white to change to a color if you don’t have the pigment color paints?
It doesn't really do much. Doing universal white and then mixing it into the brite tone is a better option!
Where can I get universal white from it said Currently not for sale

Can you but waterslides on these
Hi I have a question. How many times do I sand a tumbler with vinyl without glitter?
My brute tone is yellowing my white glitter. Is there anything I can do to prevent that?
How do you clean your brushes? After using the glitter glue on the brushes obviously they harden
Rinse them with water when you're done!
What if you're using a tumbler that's already the color you want? For example I have a powder blue tumbler that I want to add glitter to the lower half of. Do I still need to sand off the top coating from the store?
Powder coated tumblers need to be stripped first. Citristrip works well
are these dishwasher safe b
No, hand wash only
Which paints for the base? I don’t see it on any of the links.😭

I am brand new to crystalac are there requirements for preference for tempeture of the room?
Minimum temp is 68 degrees
What if your glitter is silver? Can you skip painting the tumbler and just go straight into glittering with mod podge then seal with Brite tone?
Mod podge does not adhere to metal. But you can if you use glitter glue or Brite Tone
Hi there! Question, so after you do the BT and sanding, is the last step BT with no sanding? When I end with sanding, even when I rinse it off, it dries “milky” looking 🤔 Thank you!
Your last coat should not be sanded.
I usually do a few coats of BT after my last sand so it's nice and shiny
What if we don’t have glitter glue?
Hey psst u misspelled Academy 👀 ❤!
What if you need to add another coat of glitter????? Do you wait 2 hours - add more Glitter glue and glitter... dry for 2 hours then do the BT coats??????
yep!
Is Brite Tone self leveling?
Yes!

No heat. Thin coats. Don’t overwork it. You should finish a coat in less than one minute

It’s too bad it’s so difficult to get this product in Canada
Wood Essence and Pressing images sell it or you can order from the CrystaLac store. They ship internationally
It seems like it will take two weeks with this method
