    Finally, a thorough, easy to follow tutorial! Thank you!!
    I have been making tumblers using epoxy.. I'm on oxygen and have lung & other health issues. Even though my craft room is not in a place where people or pets live & I use proper PPE and ventilation.. I still worry non-stop about how toxic and hazardous epoxy is to me, my kids and pets health.
    I have been wanting to try Crystalac for some time now, but I haven't because:
    1. I wasn't quite sure how to, but thanks to you, I do now.
    2. It seems like a lot of extra work and very time consuming. .
    My question is, how long does it take you to make a cup, start to finish? Also, how many tumblers (let's say 30oz skinny) can you make with 1QT of brite tone and other supplies needed.
    I really want to feel confident that I will know what I'm doing and have an idea of how much it costs to use CrystaLac products.
    Sorry for asking so many questions and if what I said doesn't make sense.
    Definitely subscribing!

    I just ordered my first quart of bright tone!! I'm SOOOO excited!! I did 2 cups with epoxy. Stripped one. What a nightmare. Re-glittered it but haven't epoxied it yet because I don't have a turner and the thought of hand turning if for 4 hours AGAIN makes me ill. I'll turn my Crystalac cups for an hour!! No problem!! *insert cheesy grin and childish giggles*
    I didn't even make it 1/2 way thru the 16oz box of epoxy before I decided I was D.O.N.E. done with it! Maybe I'll make a paperweight with the rest lol.

    Roll in parchment, repeat with E6000 two more times letting dry 1 hour between
    Bright one about 3ml for 20 oz spin for at least one hour
    thendo 4 more coats letting dry 4 hours between
    and then apply bright tone, sand, rinse and do this three times lettingdry 4 hours between each wait 30 days to harden?

    • @AlisonCrafts
      @AlisonCrafts  3 роки тому +1

      They're both clear top coats that are strong and non-yellowing. The brite tone has higher solids , so it's harder and shiner when cured! I dont usually use EP at all for my glitter cups anymore but you can use it for the first several layers if you want because it's cheaper! but since it doesn't have as many solids as the BT, it will take more coats to get a smooth finish. that's why i just stick with brite tone - so i can get my cups finished faster!

      Acrylic paint is not suitable as a base. It doesn't have adhesion properties or rust inhibitors! You'll want to have a primer first for sure - either the universal white or spray paint. you can paint acrylic over that. it does need at least 24 hours to dry because it just dries super slowly!

    Hello Alisson. I finally got my materials to use brite tone! I have one question before I start. Do you need a torch to pop bubbles when it comes to brite tone?

    • @AlisonCrafts
      @AlisonCrafts  2 роки тому +1

      No. no heat! you shouldn't have an issue with bubbles. if you do, you're likely putting your coats on too thick!

    • @AlisonCrafts

      just however many it takes to cover the vinyl! I usually do 3 coats, give it a sand right over the vinyl only, and then do 3-4 more!

I was waiting to get my crystalac so i can use that. My question is if I can use the crystalac even though i already sealed with rustoleum? Thanks!

    Hello! Love your videos! Question, can I just add glitter to the stainless steel tumbler without painting it first? Will it make a huge difference? And can I use loctite spray to put my glitter on? And then use the BT for every layer after that. Sorry but exactly is the E6000 used for?

    • @AlisonCrafts
      @AlisonCrafts  3 роки тому +1

      Basecoating is best to prevent rust spots. You can use loctite but it needs to dry 48 hours before BT! E6000 is used to seal and flatten the glitter so the glitter doesn't move and it cuts down on BT layers
