  • Teardown Lab - GROM BT3 Retrofit Car bluetooth Kit
This really is a nice kit, but actually turned out to be an expensive disappointment to me. Still, that is another story for another day!
Considering this is a technical product the level of technical support is pretty glib, more boiler-room than engineers, so do watch out.
Be warned, although the Chrysler connector looks the same, they re-tasked it in later models for totally different functions, so really check the model guide.
You can avoid the expense and just buy the same module they use and make my ultimate mod! :

I i was considering getting this unit. Any updates on if its stil functioning and operating properly? Can you tell about some common issues that you noticed from having it throughout the years?

I use mine in Mini Cooper r53 for like 5 years, no issues. My advice is to hook it to the wires that only get 12v when engine is on.

No follow up video? How'd it sound? Work?

I ended up yanking the module and binning the rest, made by own solution. It sounded ok. For whatever reason it was not compatible with my radio, so probably with triple checking with them.

Hi, Quick question if i may?, I have ordered one of these kits for my Honda CRV 2007 it has the built in Sat Nav, but never had the bluetooth module fitted as standard, my question is...would I need to link up the microphone which comes with the kit as I have the factory fitted microphone which came as standard to the car?....many thanks

Hi, did you investigate the SD card slot further?

Nah, I completely dismantled this and made my own solution using its parts in the end. I suspect it was provided for firmware updates.

Ah ok. Why did you make your own solution? Was it not a straight forward install, or were there problems with the kit?

I emailed their support and they literally said "It does not work with your model" that is the full extent of it. So I just reverse engineered it and wired in the new solution: ua-cam.com/video/RNRBg-dBgWU/v-deo.html

Quick question, just purchased one of these for a 2009 Subaru liberty and it already had a fictional 6 CD stacker, will I just unplug it and plug this in?

Supposedly, not check with their tech support to make sure your model and year are covered

It may work better for you.
In my experience it is better to replace the head with bluetooth built in. YMMV!
    Cheers

That would have been my first option, but really this vehicle does not lend itself to it. Not only is the hole the wrong shape, but the existing radio is tied into steering wheel controls and the parking sensor system. Still I have a solution :)

I wish you the best of luck on that. I really hate these manufactures that make upgrading the head unit hard and their heads sucks balls. Just make the android/apple integration standard instead of tying all the shit into crappy head units forever and it should be law.

+I_will_get_you There I'm going to smash this out of the park. And share the solution with the world!! 😂

In my case I would definitely go with an option like this (what I've already done, and waiting it from the Ebay), because I like how the factory head unit of my Volvo S80 fits in, and I don't like any other Chinese option available. And messing around with all the steering wheels controls, factory phone, parking assist and so on will be a pain if installing a different head unit. Not mentioning that a good head unit is way way more expensive than this small piece of art.
