- Ruth Pointer and Bryan Adams, who both knew and collaborated with music legend Tina Turner, recall some of their favorite memories with her after she passed away at the age of 83. #CNN #News
i discovered Tina Turner in the 80s when my Dad bought the Private Dancer album....and I was so amazed! I have been a fan since! That Duet with my fellow Canadian Bryan Adams It's only love is one of my all time faves....Rest in Power Queen Tina Turner. In Loving Memory.Ruth Pointer looks amazing still beautiful and lovely!
Tina & Bryan live duet! There hasn't been this epic of performances in over 30 years!
Divas Live Special, Tina Turner, Cher, Elton John. Proud Mary. But Tina has been around a very long time, and has a lot of Epic moments. I didn't even know about her and Bryan Adam's connection until today. That's pretty amazing.
She was a hell of a lady and undeniable super talented entertainer. Well done Tina.
What's a lady mean?
@@luke9361 A person above and beyond your understanding.
@@RideAcrossTheRiver what's a person mean?
@@luke9361 A human above and beyond you.
@@RideAcrossTheRiver what's a human? Those things that have only 2 genders?
I can't believe we lost another legendary performer. There will never be anyone like her.❤
Ruth Pointer, You look outstanding. Looking forward to seeing you and your daughter and granddaughter perform this season.
I'm so glad to see all this attention being payed to her passing. She was one of a kind
@@monav4062 now that's a tribute! 👍
What made Tina Turner an idol WAS NOT HER SONGS IN THE STUDIO - but the unusual and super charismatic projection of her fulminating presence on stage, in which her whole personality was electrically projected, projecting (almost as if esoterically) all human consciences!... With all naturalness and absolutely absolute authenticity!... Greetings from Portugal (Europe).
Her survival impressive comeback record setting world renown against ALL ODDS
I begged my mom to buy Private Dancer tape from a 2nd hand store; we were very poor to say the least. I listened to the whole album; laid on my sheepskin on the reservation thinking about the social injustices I was born into; and Tina's music made me feel a freedom that no one could ever tell me; not even history books. Her life story elevated a heightened understanding of what "character deprivation" really meant. Later, when I learned what Capitol Records executive said "no one wants that nigger," gave a compassionate understanding that you only give your oppressor validation when you limit yourself in their designed path no matter how disparaging their views are. Tina taught me you can create your own paradise in your present hell.
Is your mom a woman? What's a woman?
I hope you've found your paradise my friend. ❤
💙
I like what you wrote. Deep. ❤
Beautifully written
Queen of Rock N Roll.. thank you beloved Tina for all the wonderful music. We love you. 1939-2023💔
“There are heroes and then there are legends, heroes get remembered but legends never die. ... “ RIP Tina🌹 You will always be remembered as Simply The Best 🌹🕊️🤍🕊️🌹
This is so very touching. That Tina asked Bryan to sing at her wedding and the last few seconds, Brain Adams tells Ruth Pointer "I love you", Ruth asks Brian Adams to write a song for her. He says "OK". I hope he does. Invite me to the launching of it!
Great interview and tribute to queen Tina. On a side note, why aren't either of these legends in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame? Can we please induct the Pointer Sisters while we're still graced with Ruth's presence? Bryan should also be a given as he dominated the charts for so many years.
I agree!
The Rock Hall doesn't induct rockers anymore.
Yes, I love Bryan Adams since I was 4 years old... the world hasn't appreciated good things for a long time 😔
Tina Turner was SIMPLY THE BEST!!! What a beautiful interview that you had with Ruth, Pointer , and Bryan Adams I mean This was absolutely fantastic. I learned so much in just a few minutes from both of them. Thank you so much.🎉🎉🎉🎉
Well said. Simply The Best!!
She was a woman of a mature age and that in itself shouldn’t make her passing as sad as it is. But it does feel like a huge loss, a big hole in our cultural and musical lives. Her generosity of spirit, her energy, incredible voice and mastery of both song and stage makes her passing very hard to take. Her extraordinary tenacity in the face of huge social struggles as a woman and a black person in her youth as well as her personal journey from the abuse and psychological prison of her appalling first husband makes her a trailblazer and an inspiration to us all.
Absolutely. Well-stated.
I think if she wasn't I'll she would have left bed longer.
I miss Tina with all My heart. Thank you Bryan for reminding us of Het! She wS a hit when I was young¡!
I saw Tina in LA at Forum. Bryan Adams surprised us on stage with that classic riff at the beginning of “It’s Only Love”. We had been gifted senate seat tickets. It was nuts she danced like a maniac in high heeled pumps!
Love Bryan Adams.❤
Please stay alive, Bryan.
I have no words, I only have tears. Such a loss for the world. Such a talent. So many wonderful memories. Rest in peace Tina.
It's very rare that a singer touches people's lives...
It's even more rare they touch generations of people !!!
I will miss Tina. She’s at peace with her son. The world loved her.
“True and lasting happiness comes from having an unshakeable, hopeful spirit that can shine, no matter what,” she said. “That’s what I’ve achieved, and it is my greatest wish to help others become truly happy as well.” Tina Turner
Wonderful interview and tribute to Tina Turner ❤
I was sad all day about Tina. During this segment, my tears all caught up with me. I will truly miss this lady. RIP Tina ❤❤❤❤.
Bryan and Tina is my favorite song. It came when I needed it in my own life
There will never EVER be another singer like her, she was simply the best! She was beautiful, talented, funny and had so much energy and presence…the world is just a little less dimmer when her light went out…she will be forever missed.R.I.P. Tina 🙏

Proof that a single human being can overcome and rise to unheard of levels of greatness.
Such a gift to us all.
Tina was a FORCE of Nature!! SOOOO Talented and an AMAZING Entertainer!!!
it's only love is the top duo song in my book !! love it ! listened to it a million times !!!! Saw you live and it was fantastic !!! Happy you lived the life you wanted after those shaky beginnings Tina !! RIP !!
....Bryan & Ruth REALLY had some STORIES!! ...Bryan was ABSOLUTELY right about Tina settin' him off....his "Reckless" Album was selling by the BOATLOADS, but when "It's Only Love" was released, Fall of 1985, he became a WORLDWIDE Superstar! ...RIP, Lady Tina, you were *THE BEST....*
I loved seeing Tina and Bryan Adams sing together ! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER LIKE HER!!!!!! QUEEN!!!
Tina was a LEGEND! My heart sank when I heard the news. I got to see her in 1983 when she opened for Lionel Richie.
If cnn don’t take that “. “ off of the queen of rock & roll. She is the Queen no hypothetical quotations needed.
I never knew the best was her favorite song. It certainly is mine. I saw her in concert about 22-23 years ago. She ruled the stage. Thanks for the Memories Tina.
Bryan Adams looks good!
You’re simply the best! Rest in eternal power, the incomparable Tina Turner.
She was a goddess. One of a kind voice. She was truly the queen of rock and roll 🎸 RIP Tina Turner ❤❤❤🕊🕊🕊
Loved how Ruth lightened the mood. Sad though watching "We are the world" with Tina Turner & Harry Belafonte who died last month.
RIP Queen of Rock'n'Roll
RIP King of Calypso
two legends talking about another Legend.
There will never be another Tina Turner. A very nice lady
One more piece of my past gone.
The incredible lightness of being!
Never forget, the only thing that matters is NOW!
Tina, you've certainly earned a rest. Enjoy it.
You were so much more than a survivor.
You were a THRIVER.
You taught us to never give in, to never give up.
We, NOW, all, rise for you.
She will never die.
As JJ Jackson of MTV called her, "The Burner, Tina Turner", I will miss Tina! She had such awesome pipes! A great singer! I think "We Don't Need Another Hero", from Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome, is my favorite song of hers. Such a bitter pill to swallow here. Bryan was so young back in the 80's. He played guitar back then. In recent times, he's played bass. Anyway, thank you Tina for the great songs. RIP, lady! 😢💔🙏
Tina was the BEST. ❤
Tho, the Pointer Sisters weren't too far behind her 💜
I had the privilege to see Tina one time in concert. Tina was the ultimate performer. There will never be anyone like her. RIP dear Anna Mae. 💔💋👠👠

And Ruth and her sisters had another hit not mentioned. Fire written for them by Bruce Springsteen.
We take the legends for granted until they are gone. Bryan would know. Gordon Lightfoot just last month...
Ruth is the only Pointer sister left now. I hope she does get to work with Bryan Adams.
