While living in England ,1984 -1986, Tina was so loved there that if you said anything negative about her you could expect to receive a beat down. What she says about her being so well received in Europe was an under statement, she was considered a goddess.
She is a Goddess. And I hate that she feels she was not as successful in the U.S. I live in U S. and always knew her to be much loved and adored. Sold out all the time. I understand her feeling those in the industry were not fair to her and that is horrible..but the public/fans were always all about this goddess.❤

Tina was radiant in this interview, in spite of the incessant, almost irritating, reminders by Larry King of her relationship with Ike. When it finally hit the topic of her spiritual development it reached another level. Although I don't share her beliefs, I have the deepest respect for her transformation and convictions. She is truly an amazing human being!
@Mary Lane So this show-biz medical help and enhancement should give justification for Ike's wife beating bizarre domestic violence? All of you on this thread defending this social loser must be Black Republican Men wearing of all things....white wife beater shirts. There is no justifying treating another person with violence and verbal assault and thank God we've now got laws in place and they're called HATE CRIMES. Any derogatory racial, sexual, gender etc. statements are currently defined as HATE CRIMES. Any one who even used that old nasty N-Word is now guilty of a Hate crime. Rightfully so, trying to justify a man's violent dominance over another or a woman is the definition of a social loser and so it is and shall be.
@Mary Lane oh Mare....is this reminiscent of what you're man does to you and I bet he's got you believing that not only you but others also deserve to be treated like a commodity...p.s. did you go to the dentist because your man made you?
After watching her WONDERFUL documentary and seeing how the intellectually lazy media treated her by insulting her with questions about Ike, this interview is just as infuriating. She is beyond gracious.
She was God-sent she saved my life from Abusive man I was with for 20 years only God knows why I stayed but when I was free I I was very free I love you Tina Turner I learned a lot from your movie it saved my life
@ Deborah...That is always the burning question...why did you stay if I may ask? Were you scared of him, they usually threaten to kill those who leave them... or had you been so beaten down that you felt you couldn't survive without him, cuz he convinced you no one else would want you, and your ugly and stupid and all the usual stuff that an abuser does, stripping any belief in yourself and all ur confidence...? I'm curious if there is another reason why a woman would tolerate it and 20 yrs is a lifetime.
She had a beautiful personality. She’s warm, classy, kind, and funny. She makes me feel strong and that I can get through anything without feeling like a victim. What a woman! The way she feels about Jacqueline Onassis is how we feel about her. Our lady forever!
She's so big here in Brazil and South America. North America don't give the deserved value to legends like her since they no longer have more number #1 hits. The world outside America will always love and know about this legend forever.
Agree. I love in the U.S. and I hate the treatment our country gives to some of the legends. If they're no longer on the radar or have number hits, then they don't care for them too much. Its the same with actors and actresses. They only concentrate on the up incoming instead giving the attention the veteran actors. One of the reasons why I don't blame Tina for moving to Europe.
I'm American and appalled that she felt Madonna was more popular than her. Tina blows Madonna out of the water. On behalf of those of us Americans that love Tina, we're sorry idiots made Madonna's despicable self more popular.
Ummm FYI Tina didn't give black America the respect they deserved. Without Ike Turner and black America there is no Tina Turner for you to enjoy. The truth is she turned her back on black America. She's absolutely right. Tina Turner was a Megastar all over mainland Europe in the 80s and 90s. I still remember her songs getting constant airplay on german radio in the 90s and she basically existed on the popularity level of a Michael Jackson when she performed live. There were also a myriad of remixes and covers of her songs that inspired younger generations.
I think that America didn't understand Tina. I love all music, I love a song that explains a story. I love it when a singer can dance and entertain while singing. She is desperately sick now and it's sad because she was a healthy woman who was abused both physically and mentally. She worked her A** off night and day and in her younger years she was abused. And then sickness moved in through her gift and Ike's habitual habits(Drugs). My prayers go out to her, her sons and dear husband Erwin BACH. Love you Tina Turner aka Anna Mae Bullock.

Tina was so genuine and funny, omg she could make us laugh, she was generous and gracious, she personally invited myself and my best friend to the premier of her biopic movie. What made her so lovely as a person, is that she never forgot where she came from, the poverty of her childhood and never took for granted all she had, and the people that were there for her, and that passion she had for people and life, gave her an incredible warmth, but above all, she stayed humble. I loved her she was so special, but I know that when heaven came a knocking, she walked through the light, and the place is now rocking. Love you always. Xx
My adoration for this woman knows no bounds. Back in the 80s, after I had seen Tina Turner in concert for the first time, I told a friend I could die happy because I had seen her LIVE. He said he could die happy as he had seen David Bowie in concert. For my 21st birthday, he drew a card for me, Tina Turners legs from the Private Dancer album. I cherished it. Tina is a complete and utter joy. Not a hateful sound out of her. I would compliment and envy her completeness with herself and her choices.

I have loved her since I was a teenager! Now I am almost 60 and still idolized her💕
Rest in peace Tina Turner🥲🥲🥲
While living in England ,1984 -1986, Tina was so loved there that if you said anything negative about her you could expect to receive a beat down. What she says about her being so well received in Europe was an under statement, she was considered a goddess.
She is a Goddess. And I hate that she feels she was not as successful in the U.S. I live in U S. and always knew her to be much loved and adored. Sold out all the time. I understand her feeling those in the industry were not fair to her and that is horrible..but the public/fans were always all about this goddess.❤
Absolutely ....... as an English person I can confirm this is definitely so. England loved her enormously as did most of the World.

@Mary Lane oh Mare....is this reminiscent of what you're man does to you and I bet he's got you believing that not only you but others also deserve to be treated like a commodity...p.s. did you go to the dentist because your man made you?
i absolutely LOVE her voice and how she talks ❤ RIP Queen

Yes, her story helped me a lot. Love doesn't hurt.💝

What a beautiful lady
Ummm FYI
Tina didn't give black America the respect they deserved.

I’m American and I always loved Tina! I thought she was huge here.

I've been very lucky to have sung with Tina, and it's undoubtedly one of the greatest memories in my life.
Having moved home so often since we shared a home together whilst at art school, I've lost that card.
