Bryan Adams is so down to earth and he rarely makes TV appearances or does interviews. And as old as he gets, he still looks like a kid! Keep on rockin’ Bryan!
Canada is so lucky to have great artists like Bryan Adams. He is so talented and so down to earth and has not changed over the years. What a great man.
Having Tina on his album made him. He may not of been so famous without her and his tours. There is lots of great music that is never heard because of circumstances like this.
Bryan Adams perfectly captured an era in pop rock with simple songs that made people happy. You can identify his music in the first 15 seconds just because he mastered great riffs and melody, and sang about what young people were interested in. He doesn't get enough credit for the volume of his work.
I’m an 80s girl and no better decade for music in my opinion! We were so spoiled lol and Bryan still looks just as cute and he has such a baby face! So handsome ❤my fav song is cuts like a knife❤
Tina Turner is a legend. Bryan Adams is such a great artist, he sounds as good as he ever did if not even better. Watching this interview, he seems like such a nice man. His music helped me immensely when I had cancer. Im stll here, I was extremely lucky. I also live with a bipolar disorder, and his music is better than anything any doctor could give me. The way he lives his life inspires me, and lifts me up. Im just so grateful to live at the same time that he does. I sometimes wish that he sees how much difference he actually makes in many peoples lives. My story is very unusual. My wish for Bryan Adams is everything good that life has to offer him. Ill be there if he comes to Copenhagen again. .
So lucky as a kid to have these quality people making quality songs. They gave us so much inspiration. It was a gift. So grateful to have been an 80s kid.
Bryan Adams is such a lovely man. No put on and so down to earth. He deserved and will deserve all the success that cross his path...... It shines through............
I love interviews like this, finding out how people wrote their songs. These big hits that everybody loved, how they came about… What they were about and the process of getting them recorded and whether or not they thought they would be hits when they wrote them. Some artists know and some don’t. I’ve seen other people do interviews like this, but I really like Dan’s approach. More straightforward. Most people cut each song up into its own 10 or 20 minute video and stretch it out as long as they can. I really enjoy the quick fire approach and letting him answer completely of how the songs came about. Dan, if you haven’t interviewed Don Henley already… And you get a chance to, please ask him about the song ‘Love Rules’ from Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Which, I think is one of the prettiest songs ever written. Never heard him play it live and never heard him talk about it. Whether or not he still owns the rights or owned the rights. And why he never plays it live? It is such a pretty song. Dan, I would also love for you to interview people like Alan Parsons, all of the guys from Toto, Dennis DeYoung and I would’ve loved to see you do this format with somebody like Prince or Michael Jackson. Just to pick their brains on how the songs were written and their involvement of getting them on their albums. Because I know Prince wrote everything that he ever recorded, plus a ton of stuff for other people… Michael, used other writers music and also wrote some of his own. But didn’t play any instruments. People say he would just hum the lines out and have every part the way he wants it in his head. Then would pick out the sounds in the studio that matched what he heard. Which was absolutely amazing. It’s a shame that we will never get an interview from either of these guys like this. I’m sure Prince did a few, Michael I don’t think ever did. I know Quincy Jones talked about how some of the songs were done and put on the album. I know that a few of the guys from Toto wrote both Human Nature and something else on the thriller album. Human Nature was an accident. It was on the second side of a cassette tape that nobody knew about. Quincy was listening to another song from one of the guys from Toto and his cassette deck had auto flip to play the second side of the cassette and it auto flipped onto Human Nature, which he loved, and it ended up on the album. Had he not had that cassette deck, he may have never heard the song and the world may have never heard the song. Unless Toto recorded it themselves. They do play it on stage, which sounds obviously phenomenal. Love these interviews, keep doing them. At 92… You’re doing them better than anybody else on the planet. Love you, buddy, thank you for everything. You’ve done for the world and fans of music. Much appreciated by me and I’m sure millions of others. Your voice has been the voice of my news, since I was a kid.
The song that put at the end of the film made everyone stay and watch the credits. Truly one of the best songs, Everything I do for you. still on my playlists.
it's crazy where the time has gone. i remember my parents buying me bryan adams albums after i reacted to a few of his songs.. i'd play his music all day , listen to all the albums at 2 years old!his music still has such a strong connection with me at 32
My husband and I watched Tina Turner perform many years ago. Her “opening act” was Lionel. All of the young girls in the audience knew each and every word to Lionel’s songs and even sang along with him. It was an amazing evening and one that we shall always cherish. 😊
How could you leave out, Cuts Like A Knife? By the way, in 1985 I was a Stagehand at the Concord Pavilion in Concord, California. A great venue outdoors and under the stars. It was The Summer Of '85. It was memorable in so many ways not the least of which was the unforgettable performance by Bryan Adams. Simple stage set up with band members on risers and Bryan center stage on a riser that jutted out into the first couple of rows in the audience. The lighting and sound was perfect. But, it was the performance that was breathtaking. Seeing and hearing a great performance of music can only be surpassed by feeling the music and Bryan broke through that third dimension. He was a pleasure to work with and just an all around great guy.
Cuts Like a Knife and Straight from the Heart were great hits. My first concert was Bryan Adams. Bryan, Bob Rock, David Foster and Sade inspired me to songwrite and Whitney inspired me to sing. I spent many hours of my teenage years songwriting and getting vocal coaching by my singing coach.
A friend of mine once saw him on the subway in NYC going to his own gig! It was rush hour and the quickest way for him to get there was the subway. My friend who wasn’t even a fan was geeking out telling me this story 😂 🎸 🎤
Bryan Adams is one of the BEST singers and songwriters EVER and has never gotten the credit he deserves for it! Loved you for ages Bryan. Thanks for all the great music!
I was invited to an opening in the mid 90s in London that was full of famous musicians, designers, and all of the supermodels of the 90s. I felt really out of place because I didn't know anyone there. I was invited by the manager of several of the supermodels and he was busy floating around and being social so I was left on my own. I was standing around drinking a beer looking nervous and Bryan Adams stood next to me and we started chatting. We ended up hanging out for a good part of the night and he had me in stitches. Super funny guy and really really nice. He saved my night I ended up having a blast. Never saw him again and that was that it was just a moment in time but I'll never forget it.
I saw Brayn back in 95', Nuremberg Germany when the Pretenders opened up for him. It was similar to the Wembley Concert in England a year later with over 70,000. My Frau and I had a great time watching him perform. My top 5 songs are It's only love, Heaven, Cuts like a knife, 18 ti I die and Everything I do. Summer of 69' they are overplay it here in Germany at the German Volksfests that I can't listen to it anymore, similar to Sweet Home Alabama.....overplayed at the Volksfest!
I have been lucky enough too cross paths with Bryan in the music industry and have a few chats with him. He is exactly as you see here. Lovely guy and a supremely hard worker. He does not have an off button. Genuine guy.
Two remarkable artists. I saw Bryan live where i live. He is consumate pro. Tina came out of her abusive relationship with Ike stronger than i think anyone thought she would.
Bryan Adams was the first CD I got when I was like 12. My older sister got it for me to go with the Sony CD boombox she got for me for my birthday. I haven’t listened to his music by choice in years, but I still know the lyrics to every song when I hear one.
Brian Adams is a living legend. Great singer & instrumentalist, fantastic songwriter & easy on the eyes to boot.🤪 As well as writing his own music & lyrics he's also written songs for other artists that became hits. My favorites are Straight From The Heart, One Night Love Affair & Sumner Of '69. ♥🎸🎶🎤
It’s difficult to find a better set of pop/rock albums back to back in an artist’s career than Cuts Like A Knife and Reckless……..excellent albums with hits all over them. And they still hold up today……
Bryan, I fell in Love with all your music Nothing more than Love so true If our hearts of two could meet I know I'd fall in love with you😚 KEEP ROCKING
Everything I do DOES in fact appear in the film. When Robin is sending Marion off in the boat and "he says No I'll do it for you" and the strings in the background IS the song. It starts as they are approaching the shore to the boat.
He has a video right here on UA-cam, of a great cover of Joe Cocker "When the Night Comes", that he did live in Vancouver. Compare the Bryan Adams version to the Joe Cocker version. Both are awesome!
Dan Rather matches my Top 5 list of Bryan Adams songs. Rather interviews well 👌 Adams has good descriptions. Adams echoes Sammy Hagar on mumbling. RIP Tina Turner, Eric Kagna (co-writer of Straight from the Heart) and Michael Kamen
Lol…This is true. I met Bryan Adams in Vancouver when I was seventeen years old and he introduced me to Tina Turner one night. I think we wrote Run To You together in some way. I went to Bryan’ s parent house and to another house where Bryan worked out of…beer cans everywhere…lol.
Bryan needs to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! Like yesterday…anyone agrees?
He’s a legend for sure.
Hell to the yeah! I agree!
Absolutely
I agree
Absolu-f-ing-tely!
Bryan Adams is so down to earth and he rarely makes TV appearances or does interviews. And as old as he gets, he still looks like a kid! Keep on rockin’ Bryan!
I agree.
Agree 100%. And Dan Rather…that’s how you interview someone. Just sounds like two dudes talking.
"Please forgive me," one of the best ❤
Bryan Adams was a giant in the 80's. Such a hit factory!! Love you music bro!
BA became unstoppable in the 90's when he teamed up with Mutt Lange.
It was Jim Valance bro
His new music is really good too. Check it out.
Going to his concert in Feb 2025
I saw Bryan Adams and also Tina Turner in concert in the 80s. Great concerts! The 80s had some great music and performers.
Canada is so lucky to have great artists like Bryan Adams. He is so talented and so down to earth and has not changed over the years. What a great man.
Having Tina on his album made him. He may not of been so famous without her and his tours. There is lots of great music that is never heard because of circumstances like this.
“Run To You” should be on that list too
Agree, and Take Me Back.
And Please Forgive Me.
Agreed
My favorite Bryan Adams song. Probably his best.
Run to you def top 3 . Heaven and 69 yes. But actually run 2 u is my fav
Duet with Tina Turner in the 80s was so iconic seemed like it was always on TV at the time. No internet folks.
One of my favorite artists. If you get the chance to see him in concert, DO IT! Seen him a few times and he always delivers.
So humble to be such a musical legend and icon.
Glad she agreed to do the song with him. "It's only love" is one of my favorite BA songs
It’s Only Love, such a killer duet w/the one and ONLY Tina Turner……!!!……Love/LOVE/love that tune!!!!!
Bryan Adams perfectly captured an era in pop rock with simple songs that made people happy. I'm also from the 80s, but it's in the 90s that I learned about his music.
I was so attached to Bryan's music in the 80's and still am. Do I ever enjoy Him and his music.
For me it's since the 90s, though I was born in the early 80s.
This was great. I saw Bryan perform with Tina in Paris (at the Zenith) when I was a kid. Unforgettable.
Bryan Adams is such a lovely man. No put on and so down to earth. He deserved and will deserve all the success that cross his path...... It shines through............
Absolutely one of my favorite artists. My first concert ever back in 93.
Have you ever really loved a woman? Will always be my number one song of Bryan Adams.
Im 66 and still a Bryan Adams fan . Thank you Brian for all the great music.
He is SOOOO underrated, he is a LEGEND!

The same year that I saw him in concert, but on the east coast. White t-shirt, black leather jacket, and jeans. It was his look.
Saw him in concert opening for Journey in 1983. One of his coolest songs that is still one of my favorites was Take Me Back Won't Ya.
I saw Bryan in concert here in Australia one of my best concert every
Bryan Adam’s is the anthem to my early childhood. How many hear a song and remember a specific time or memory?
When Bryan Adams and Tina Turner left the radio they took the radio with them. afterwards the radio began to fade away.
A friend of mine once saw him on the subway in NYC going to his own gig! It was rush hour and the quickest way for him to get there was the subway. My friend who wasn’t even a fan was geeking out telling me this story 😂 🎸 🎤

Mr. Rather left off "Cuts Like a Knife". I think it was Bryan's best!
As Bryan mentioned all subjective.
He was fantastic in '83 and still sounds amazing in 2024... My favorite singer ever❤
So am i,
Love these two!
My bf drove Bryan’s equipment truck for a couple tours, in the 80s, very nice guy… as we’re all the Canadian superstars.
Big part of my life right here😊 music really is eternal..it captures the magic of the 80s Era forever🥳
Bryan is a great guy & I love his music. Especially that one of my friends worked for him..& I thought that was Incredible ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
You are looking good Bryan!! I was so glad to hear you mention my old neighbour Jim. You made a great team.

Saw him numerous times in concert back in the day, the best shows. Waking Up The Neighbours still a favourite ❤
Yes I agree with the other comments, Dan Rather skipped over Cuts Like a Knife which was huge !
Was huge, to me it's still a huge song with the crowd participation!
It’s difficult to find a better set of pop/rock albums back to back in an artist’s career than Cuts Like A Knife and Reckless……..excellent albums with hits all over them. And they still hold up today……
Bryan went to my high school, Colonel By, he was a few years ahead of me.

Adams echoes Sammy Hagar on mumbling.

The song was actually perfect at the end of the movie. It summarized Robin's love for Marian ❤
