Received my Volume II today! It’s so beautiful I just love to hold it, the pictures are gorgeous, the quality is stunning. I know it will be an heirloom used by my loved ones long after I’m not here. Thank you for this extraordinary gift.
I have never heard that explanation that “God made Jesus a icon of himself.” That is so beautiful. I now understand why icons and beautiful art are so much a part of the Catholic Church. Thank you
God did not "make" Jesus Christ. Our Lord is the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity. Christ is God. He existed before space and time. Jesus Christ revealed Himself as God through the Incarnatuon. Bishop Barron has used poor verbiage.

I own 20 to 30 different Bibles, having always been interested in the nuances that different translations bring out and the things that different publishers choose to highlight. The Word on Fire Bible sets itself apart from all of them, not just for the artwork, the edifying commentaries, or the ease of readability, but for how it makes the story of Christianity come alive in a way that I've never encountered before in a Bible. As someone who struggles with faith, this Bible reminds me of why I always come back to Christ when I stray and why I find him so compelling. I just finished Matthew last night, and Volume II is due to arrive in a few days. Thanks for all you do.
Thanks to Brandon and Bishop Barron for this . You’re on fire BB talking about this new book. Love it. God bless your mother, may she make her 100! Being Irish I have no doubt. I’m full on Irish and was given the gift of a sense of humour. It’s the best . Peace and light to you both .
I’m a hundred pages into volume one and am mesmerized! I cannot wait for the second one to arrive. Blessings to you, Bishop! Thank you to you all for your contribution. 🥰🥰
Put myself on the waiting list, ordered it the moment it was available, got it last Friday. I struggled to read the bible when I was first given one, and I don't think I've ever managed to read it from cover to cover; but these books are absolute works of art that contain so much more than just the text itself, and make it so much more of a joy to read. If you keep making these (Old Testament when? :D ) then this atheist will keep on buying and pouring over them. Thank you Bishop and everyone at Word on Fire. Amazing work.
I have "Mysteries of the Bible" by Reader's Digest, printed in 1988. It's also a beautiful commentary of the Bible, it's not of Catholic perspectives but surprisingly well-balanced from different angles. I recommend people to buy WOF's Bible Volume II though. God bless Tom from China and Bishop Barron, and Brandon Vogt. May your mother always in good health Bishop Barron, to celebrate 100th birthday, truly marvelous.
Lots of praying for you is all i can say. You and Fr Steve are awesome. I love when Fr Grunow tweets. I’d love to hear an open conversation with Fr Grunow on one of tour showings. Hi Bishop, I'm very grateful to you and your team for this Bible edition. I was very lucky to discover the second volume in the early morning hours of Januay 15th and I immediately ordered the leather bound version. I've just picked it up from the UPS store two hours ago and, like with the first volume, I absolutely love it. It's a piece of art. That being said, I have a request, and I think you're probably going to hate me for it ;-) but in addition to the leather bound volumes - of which I'll buy every single one - I'd really love to have the texts as an ebook. I know how much you dislike ebooks and reading on computer screens, yes, you're right, but reading on an e-ink display is not the same, it's very comforting, and I'd really love to have this Bible edition with me, all the time and everywhere I go. The other day I was sitting in a café - that was before the omicron wave hit us - and I really wished I could read the Word on Fire Bible, but of course I can't possibly schlep these heavy volumes around with me, not even the first one, at least not all the time. Also, it would make the WoF Bible available to people with less money, and to those with bad eyesight. Please consider it :-)
My local priest put me onto you after asking him which bible should I be buying if money were no object. Im OCD so I have to wait until all volumes are released and honestly Id want a version all in one version thats probably 8 inches thick and can be used as a family heirloom to pass down, but your Bible seems like its the one.
You know some people on the internet love to paint Bishop Barron as some left wing modernist. What a lie. Bishop Barron is so real and down to earth. He's serious about his faith. But he's also talking to the people that need to be talked to. Reaching out to the groups of people that need people like him especially the younger generation. This bible is probably great. I guarantee alot of great minds participated in it. I know the christian book store near me sells them. Probably gonna make it a gift. Keep on lighting that fire Father.
To whom it may concern: will a Spanish edition be ready to buy in the early future? Thank you very much and God bless Bishop Barron and all the community
I know that Word on Fire is thinking of publishing the remainder of the Vatican 2 documents in a book but how about publishing the Vatican 1 documents?
Beware! The Word on Fire Bible’s text (the translation) which is the New Revised Standard Version (NRSV), Catholic Edition, is already outdated as the latest iteration of its main component has just come out a few months back, the NRSV Updated Edition (NRSVue = pronounced “nurse view”).
From FAQ Word on Fire Bible : "The Word on Fire Bible uses the New Revised Standard Version: Catholic Edition (NRSV-CE), which first appeared in 1989 and has received wide acclaim from academics and Church leaders. The translation received the imprimatur of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops in 1991, granting official approval for Catholic use in private study and devotional reading. The NRSV-CE stands out among other translations because of its accuracy and readability. It is “as literal as possible” in adhering to the ancient texts and only “as free as necessary” to make the meaning clear in graceful, understandable English. " --- The NRSVue is very new and won't be adopted yet in the near future. Even the NRSVue bible is not coming out until at least May 2022. Thus, the NRSV-CE is still relevant and I don't see the NRSVue-CE coming anytime soon. The NRSV-CE is used in Canadian Roman Catholic Church so I'm quite happy to have this version used in Word on Fire Bible.
Go to the European store, it ships from Ireland, I live in Germany and paid 13,95€ for the shipping, which is still a lot, but, unfortunately, normal. Don't know how much it'll be to the UK, probably less

I just got the two volumes today
Volume 2 of the Bible? I thought that was called the Book of Mormon? Kidding!! I’m kidding.
Yo Bible 2 just came out? Been waiting two thousand years for this.

On the word on fire website they list tentative timeline for next editions
When will Vol 2 be delivered to those who purchased early?
Me gustaría tener ya los dos volúmenes. ¿Cómo? ¿Cuánto cuesta? Felicidades por su trabajo.
