The drummer here, Akira Jimbo, is absolutely amazing, if you want to see one of his best solos check out the one he did in 1986 in their “perfect live show” You could also check out some of the stuff he did after he left the band. Him and the bassist, Tetsou Sakurai, formed their own dou band with others named JimSaku, and oh my god 90s Akira was on a whole other level 😤
I love how you said you wanted to play outrun watching this, usually when people hear this type of music they say something similar and its because game developers used a lot from this genre since it was the most popular type of music in japan in that time
The guy who turned me on to Casiopea told me that it inspired a lot of video game music...I expected to be pleased but not BLOWN AWAY!

I really recommend Casiopea + T-SQUARE - Fightman (Live 2003) to you. It's just awesome :D and Dazzling by Casiopea rocks too. And T-Square has also some really nice music :)

The 1985 live songs are amazing. CASIOPEA’s live performances are, in my opinion- astronomically better than their studio produced ones.
They are S-tier musicians. The best of the best for sure.

please check out "Dazzling" probably my favourite casiopea song by far, with the Perfect Live 1986 version being the best
seconded, love Dazzling, but i highly highly recommend listening to the version from their Music Party '91 TV special. There's an excellent high definition version of it and Fightman on UA-cam under the video title "Test-3 1080p HDR".
