The 138's better separation and clearer less " muddy" bass/ mid range.
I happy with my R1280DBs more than one year ! Quality is amazing :)
Mids and vocals are amazing for the 1380 but falls too flat on the highs and lows. For the price point 1280DBs for me. Thanks for the demo.
Ok, so I wouldn't be here if I wasn't actively comparing the 2 speaker sets... so thank you for this seriously in depth comparison that doesn't have someone telling me how they think sound, just lets me make my decision for me, so thank you! I'm thinkin the highs are a lil more crisp and defined in the 1380s but there's just something about the slightly wider soundstage of the 1280s that are pushing me that way. Maybe it's just the way my speakers are portraying them, but that being said, it also made me appreciate the speakers I'm using haha The ridiculous non-replaceable 3.5mm cord on my speakers is making a stuuuupid buzzing noise and it's time for an upgrade!
Yeah r1280 has more soundstage you can hear it widely the sound
A mi me gusta más el 1280db. Suena más equilibrado y agradable.
Muy interesante tomando en cuenta que la espiroqueta cuántica de sonido viaja inversamente proporcional a la salida del aire.
I have the 1280dbs and 1700Bt and I sometimes use them same time and their sound is great together, with 1700bts' punchy bass and 1280dbs' highs.
Which one would you recommend 1280DBS or 1700BTS? Thanks
@@cyandjey7363 1280DBS could be a better option
@@arslanasghar750 Hey man. What do you think of R1380DB ? Should I get it as supposed to 1280DBS or 1700BTS? I dont need that much watt. I only need decent high clarity balanced speaker with enough bass for music, movie, podcast etc
@@riezan None of those really provide great results if you want bass for movies and games. I'd recommend to buy a used S350DB system.
@@OCX600RR Thanks for the suggestion. I prefer 2.0 system. I should have said I dont like over powering bass speaker. I prefer crips, clarity balanced just-enough bass speaker. If you had to chose between R1380DB, 1280DBS and 1700BTS which one would you pick ?
Definitely; fullness, depth, balance, richness is better on edifier 1280dbs. Speakers 1380, in my opinion, are rather dry and deaf, they have less than the middle, the emphasis is on the top, although they also play well, a matter of taste. For an amateur.
R1380DB for the win
I like the low end of the 1280 and the top end of the 1380. Well... with these cheap speakers you have to make some concessions, i bought a pair of 1380s, i'll see if boosting the bass gives a better low end.
please tell me your opinion? how do you like 1380?
Which one is better?
Audio is amaizing. listened to iton my cellphone Speakers.
anyone know how tall the r1380db stands?
Owner of R1280Db, not Dbs and wow, still impressed with the quality, 4 years ago did the purchase and work using them, really nice.
now owner of MR4 and they are impressive!
Which one you prefer for just listening to music and as PC Speaker?
Hi DS. I’m choosing between the r1280dbs, r1380db, or the 1855db. Without the price comparison, which one would you choose on sound? Thank you.
R1380DB
I have an 1280 for about 4 years now and yesterday while listening to it, made a loud clicking noise and lost power. I believe that some part inside must've blown. If I can't fix it I will buy another pair because I really like them. I run a chromecas audio trough them and sounds great. Not sure whether I should go for the 1380 or not. 🤔
I have the 1700. Also around 4 years its suddenly not working.. i guess the life time is around that
Would the Edifier R1380DB be a good choice to use with a 1990s Vinyl turntable? Thanks.
most likely need a preamp as the inputs are line not phono level
1280 model has "DBS" (newer) version. The new DBS updated version is $10 more with slight improvements (power, sub out, minimalized/updated remote). Both 1280 versions have front bass port thats in the middle/top, but the 1380db has a front bass port thats on the bottom (other studio monitors that have front bottom bass ports are Kali, Presonus, KRK, Focal and others). Im not sure which is better honestly, to have it on the bottom or the middle/top.

I find both of them in the same price, which should I get?
Edifier win
Does anyone noticed the S model has a slightly wider sound stage?
1380 win
Prefer 1280
r1380db win this
for the bass, its more punchy on 1280 or 1380 ? thanks
definitely more punchy on the 1280dbs cause of the subwoofer
Remembering that the bluetooch of the R1380db is APTX, the R1280 IS NOT APTX.
85美元一對的 1280DBS , 到底要打低多少對手才肯停下來, 簡直是最強的市場破壞者 , 我在香港買了一對.
R1380 is more on stereo mode than the 1280dbs
The 1380 doesn't have a subout right
yep
Still having a hard time deciding which lne to buy. Price are similar in my country
same here but ill go for r1380db
Im having a hard time choosing between a single piece (edifier d12) or two piece stereo.
Obviously, the sound separation will be much better for two piece speakers, but the portability and clean look of D12 attracts me more for listening
Can you do 1380db vs mr4?
MR4 is more balanced, 1380 sounds slightly clearer but also slightly less bass/depth? than 1280. IMO the mr4 is very slightly better than both, but if your ears are like mine (casual, untrained) they all sound very similar. I personally would buy whichever is the cheapest and has the features I want.
Could you maybe include the white noise the speakers make when no audio is playing? Maybe in a way similar to the bass test used in earlier videos.
No idea how important this is to most people, but I'd certenly like it because you can't figure it out just by listening.
hearing this from R1280DBs can agree they are bassy
You found 1380 better on sound ?
@@georgesaraskeris3447 im not sure i knew RT1280T they were better
@@abudankmeme1477 why rt to. Sound better dbs is newer model
@@georgesaraskeris3447 too much bass
@@georgesaraskeris3447 the newer have alot more bass im unsure myself
Having just bought R1380DB for the reason that it's newer and sound wise it's more or less the same as R1280DBs, I now want R1280DBs instead (notice the "s"), for the reason that it has subwoofer output. I found the bass in R1380DB is less than desired.
You can just get an active subwoofer and split the audio source using a 3.5mm Y splitter.
@@Benri05 It's do-able, but not preferred, as that way, both the speaker and sub will be playing bass notes.
I have the 1280DBs and even with sub output connection the mid-woofers still kinda plays bass notes. it just plays a little less thou@@OCX600RR
Can some one help between this two and 1700bt ...
I dont have good headphones or speakers to listen it and to understand the results
Depends on how much you can find the 1700BTs at, in my country they are around $10-20 of each other and if it's the same difference as in yours, the 1700BT can't be beat.
I bought 1280's 2 years ago so now I upgrade or refund?
I bought these speakers R1380DB for using bluetooth in my small apartment. I use my Iphone, Ipad. When the speakers connect and play, they sound pretty decent. BUT!!!!! they have a mind of their own. Rarely can I get them to connect. I sent one pair back. I wondered if is was my devices or something that I was doing. I let my friends try with their phones. I even let my buddy try them at his house. No effin good! Real pieces of crap.
I have a r1280db, so, what's the verdict? Is it enough to warrant an "upgrade"?
Not sure if you still need an answer but I've heard both and I don't think so. Although I'm not an audiophile, so my ears aren't that well-trained. They sound very similar to each other, 1380 sounds slightly clearer but slightly lesser bass. Honestly if it was a blind test I'd have difficulty telling which is which.
upgrade to which ? R1280DBs gives you the sub out over your current model
Hivi swans D100 please🔥🔥
Second that
D100 vs D1100 😜
R1380DB is 10% better, the voice and upper frequency sound is a bit more professional. I bought R1380DB in Europe for 87 euros, super price and quality.
R1380DB win. Flawless victory.
1380 way better
Wow First :)
1380 win
