Off roading not my sort of thing but I love my SLK and when having an EV is the only sensible option I'd love it converted but I suspect it will never be a feasible thing to do without a lottery win (and I don't do the lottery).

As an 11 year old girl, in 1963, living on a farm, I first learnt to drive a Landrover. Primarily to deliver sickly lambs back to my mum, who would incubate them in the bottom oven of the Rayburn! Oh the memories! 😄

An enjoyable video. In the past I ran an assortment of Land Rover series 2 and 2A. Great vehicles. The model depicted by you as the inspiration for the little, round mirrors, is in fact a Series 1. I have had the pleasure of driving a series 1 with the 1.6 litre petrol engine. It ran like a sewing machine. Beautiful.
After seeing this I really want to convert a wagon into a sleeper with a tesla motor & bt... would be fun leaving some bmw&merc off the line as where I live if you own one it seems like your ego increase drastically

Usually when you go off-road, you have to travel some miles to get to the place, then off-road. And after that return home. You could need also to camp for a couple of nights, and deal with mechanical issues. But if the application is just to show-off at the mall, then it seems the right choice.
The point is, that the electric motors will use very little energi when offroading, because so little power is necessary. But it is, as i must admit, mostly a gimmick at this point and price.

Not to mention how the electricity to recharge that thing is produced in the first place. Simple truth is, the national grid is at capacity every winter. We don't have the electric to support electric cars. And if you removed all the ICE cars tomorrow and just had electric, the emissions that were from the ICE cars would be made by the power stations instead, but that's moot anyway because, we don't have enough electric!

Just imagine when they start putting the electric motors inside the wheels and the batteries get even smaller. The suspension travel will be incredible and cars will be able to go anywhere.
I’m 6”3’ with size 47 feet. I could barely fit in the drivers seat, and when I pushed in the clutch then went to release it, my foot got jammed between the underside of the dash and the pedal 😬
