If it ever gets broken into that's a lot of money gone. We still empty the trucks of anything worth more than 25 quid if we're away from it for more than 6hrs.
I daily drove an mx-5 for a while. It only contained an ice scraper for the windows, a lifehammer and the owners manual. That filled up all the storage space I had. It was great!
Those old defenders are the most useful utilitarian cars ever made. Simple, easy to fix, rugged, practical, 4wd! Excellent Landrover really missed out on a giant market by not selling these anymore.

I just have an umbrella, a hat, sunglasses, loose change, a little brush for cleaning dials, and the most important thing you could possibly have in an S4: a radar detector

For sure. Off the top of my head I have like a set of old screwdrivers, a beach towel, a car tire inflator, a walking stick, some paper bags. And a snow/ice scraper that stays in there all year because I live in Minnesota.
In my car right now: - a trash bin -my mail -a sword I need to finish - my belt knife - a Chinese ritual knife which was a memento from my late grandmother - some audio equipment - a few books - my armor I fight in. - some blacksmithing tools - some trash that missed the aforementioned trash bin.
I've got a micro fiber cloth, aspirin, dashcam, face mask, charging cable and sunglasses in the glovebox. On the rear seat I keep a big umbrella, and reflective windscreen shade (if it's summer) In the boot I have a med kit, reflective vest, water bottle, waterless car cleaner, another microfiber, spare pair of glasses, kitchen roll, torch, and assorted shopping bags. Small plastic crate in the boot containing: bottles of oil and water, jump leads, tow rope, blue gloves, occasionally a torque wrench if i've had a wheel off, a small ratchet strap, a few rags and a hi-viz. Then a raincoat, an umbrella, and a camping chair. Pretty minimal, and neatly organised...
Hammond's personality is as big and enjoyable as Clarkson's. We have been blessed to witness. Oh May is ok too 🤣
I just have an umbrella, a hat, sunglasses, loose change, a little brush for cleaning dials, and the most important thing you could possibly have in an S4: a radar detector
"The only thing I keep in my car is a old paint brush which I use to clean the dust out of the air vents. I always keep the air vents in the central position, and if anyone ever moves them, I get angry"
In my truck at the moment just went through it is a sunshade, tire pressure gage, 1 sweatshirt, 1 zip up fleece, 2 pairs of socks, 2 pairs of jeans, 1 leather belt, 2 carhartt t shirts, 2 pair underwear, 1 pair of steel toe boots, 1 tool box, 1 socket set, 1 jumpbox/airpump, 1 set of jumper cables, 2 ice scrapers/ brushes, 2 seat covers for the front seats, 2 first aid kits, 1 bottle of advil, 1 gallon of water, 2 boxes of granola bars, 4 usb-c phone chargers with cigarette adapters, 1 k&n face mask, 2 pairs of winter gloves, 1 soldering iron, 1 roll of solder, 1 volt meter, 2 boxes of electric crimp connectors, 1 spare turn signal bulb, 1 license plate bulb, 1 pair work gloves, 1 box of spare fuses, 1 blanket, 1 cigarette lighter powered heated blanket, 1 air mattress with pump, 100yds of paracord, 2 box cutters with a 100 pack of blades, 4 ratchet straps, 1 tow rope, 1 box of disposable hardwarmers, 2 flashlights, 1 android tablet, 2 baseball caps, and 1 winter hat.
I know I sound like a crazy person carrying all this stuff around but I live in Wisconsin and if you get caught in a snow drift in a bad snow storm in the middle of nowhere you can be stuck for days before you get found if you have no cell service or your phone dies you have to be prepared for the worst and hope for the best
I keep a small paint brush to keep the air vents free of dust and perfectly aligned.
For sure. Off the top of my head I have like a set of old screwdrivers, a beach towel, a car tire inflator, a walking stick, some paper bags. And a snow/ice scraper that stays in there all year because I live in Minnesota.
My daily driver is IMMACULATE. Never allowed the missus to drive it.
In my car right now:
- a trash bin
-my mail
-a sword I need to finish
- my belt knife
- a Chinese ritual knife which was a memento from my late grandmother
- some audio equipment
- a few books
- my armor I fight in.
- some blacksmithing tools
- some trash that missed the aforementioned trash bin.
There's a difference between using a car everyday and living out of it.
I've got a micro fiber cloth, aspirin, dashcam, face mask, charging cable and sunglasses in the glovebox.
On the rear seat I keep a big umbrella, and reflective windscreen shade (if it's summer)
In the boot I have a med kit, reflective vest, water bottle, waterless car cleaner, another microfiber, spare pair of glasses, kitchen roll, torch, and assorted shopping bags.
Exciting stuff!
I own a Jeep so people clean my car for me when I don’t have a roof… they really do rummage around for tips though
You honestly think a multimillionaire actually cleans his own vehicle🤔
@@gavinwyllie7855 nah, I was just making a joke about how people steal change from my car sometimes
My car has a medical dept, a music dept, an office/finance dept, a toiletries/beauty dept, a work clothing dept, a tool dept a cleaning dept and a water dept. All tucked away and tidy.:D

Mine is full of shopping bags, coats and jumpers and an outdoor foldup seat for if I find somewhere nice to sit and relax.
I must remember to put my car blanket back in there. I took it out to wash it and never got around to putting it back in.
“Very very Hammond…” most likely Jeremy Clarkson and James May
My Kia Rio 1.1 (occasionally passing Hammond around Ross) is essentially my camera bag/studio on wheels, with all the boots, hats and coats that may be needed for work too. And a vital bag of snacks!! Home from home.
Girls have unlimited stuff in her purses, guys have cars.
My daily driver is a 1998 Defender 90.
It is immaculate and has places for everything which in turn is netted.
It gets properly used but has frequent body washes and interior cleans, hoovers and washes.
My daily will be an SVO Defender 110.
The 90 will be kept forever.
My 97 Opel Astra in the boot: 4 instrument boxes countles wrenches and other tools, a few circular saws, spare clothes atleast 3 pears.

Oh hey, a Hammond video on Drivetribe. Nice. Been a while. I love May and all, but it's nice to have one of the other two make an appearance for once.
Gen 1 Discovery carrying everything from camping gear to tool box to surgical instruments...the back seats have been down since last christmas! There are a few jackets hiding in there too...
I don't have a lot of stuff in my car, but some stuff😅
However, I fell too the ground laughing, when a colleague of mine, praised me for keeping a clean and tidy car. Since i got it a year ago, I've washed it twice and vacuumed it once
😆😆😆
I have a 2015 Chey Silverado 1500 I use the exact same way Richard uses his Defender for the struggle is real lol
My car supplies consist of an air pump, tire iron, floor jack, jumper cables, shopping bags, sun shade, hand sanitizer, facemask, and a sun glasses clip for my glasses.
My car has a bin full of herding related stuff (boots, socks, whistles, various shirts, jumpers and jackets, as well as stock sticks)
my little 1991 mr2 project/daily driver has constantly got extra jumpers hats hoodies drink snacks hunt bolts recipts in it! shes pretty on the outside but clearly a daily on the inside
Apart from my collection of about 100 MP3 Music CD's & half a dozen MP3 USB sticks (so I have plenty of choice of what music to listen to as I'm driving around) the only things kept in my car are plastic shopping bags, a couple of micro-fibre cloths, a pair of sunglasses & a can of de-icer - I can honestly say, that IS about everything that's kept in my car !!
That is a tough 4wd. Hammond is now unstoppable!
Camping folding armchair, battery operated coffee maker (with a stock of various wafers) and a tripod-based "table" are the things I use when I go on trips and end up somewhere with a long way back home ahead.
When I had the 996, the only stuff I kept in the car was a cd folder with 100 CDs, and some cassettes :)
In the new Rav4 I only keep sunglasses.
Daily a 17 focus st. It usually has about 6b fishing rods, plus a bag of tackle. Absolutely need to keep those in there at all times
Used to be.
But then I learnt my lesson, made a vow, bought a brand new 2019 WRX and it has been immaculate (inside) ever since!
Barbour waxed cotton jacket is a classic. The Land Rover Defender is my dream car and I love that color.
I swear love you so much Richard Hammond ❤️❤️from Morocco
My car (Volvo c30 rDesign) has tools, coveralls, spare shoes, jump leads, snacks, cd’s, work clothes and boots, cleaning products, and that’s just what I can remember
Mine just has gum in the glove box, water bottles in the doors and a flashlight in the console, very clean
Mine is a 2016 GMC Terrain with the V6 engine and inside you will find everything you need to stay alive for at least two months, ranging from water to food, snacks to bedding, garbage cans to even umbrellas (since it's Vancouver)
My dailies are both immaculate. idk how you can hoard all that stuff 😂😂
I love Richard as a presenter/host!🤗
When Hammond starts unloading things from the back it really made me think he owned a mail truck.
I have a 4x4 DSG Yeti…. which is mostly a wardrobe/service van/toolbox/shopping trolley/tow truck/flashing road cone…… and is somewhat grubby 🙂🇬🇧
Just about to stick the plain steel wheels and winter tyres on…….. Let’s off road !! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Jeremys drink rack in the back of the range is still one of my favorites
I have a Disco full of all the things I need for the dogs, dog working days and the golf clubs live on the back seats.
I've got a bunch of random bits from work. stuff that I find in apartments that were left behind by tenants. Several sunflower seed bags and fast-food wrappers that I clean out every two weeks
Im a dog walker with a 08' volvo xc70 d5. Its me, my partner and our daughter. Each of our seats is like our own personal office desk.
Drive everyday and I keep my car as clean as possible. Take out trash, put stuff away and clean it regularly. Yes, I'm one to also unpack my bags once I get home from traveling abroad...
Mine has much the same junk in it, I’ve put a secure box in back to store important stuff in, but that’s full of junk too and if I want something out of the cubby box i have to shift a huge tangle of charger cables, parachord and lanyards! Fit a glove box Richard, because your not used to having one in a defender, when you do look in there it’s always a nice surprise to find something you thought you’d lost.
Smart ForFour the 115bhp version.
I live in Denmark, it’s winter soon, so a few blankets, for me and the dog.
Dog treats, money for coffee, extra clothes, cola, road salt/sand, a small shovel.
