He went to prison and she got out of prison. In a real life story we might learn he grew up watching his mom endure this as that would explain his resolve to react. He had no angry emotions, just resolve to protect her. It did not have to be someone he knew to protect her. In a movie I would hope he would get released for good behavior and they get married and they both live their love for each other as it was meant be experienced by God on earth.

He knew what had happened to her because he could relate to her because he possibly lived it.. with his mom and dad. He was taking the steps to save her from a future of abuse and death. It satisfies him to do that because of all the years of watching his dad to it his mom until he killed her and no one did anything to protect her and he was too young to help her. He is grown and took the steps necessary to protect someone. Now he is relieved and satisfied the guilt he carried for his own mom.

He has a new song out called the Mockingbird & the crow & it talks about him writing songs for others & they were the expected music 'everyone does, just being a Mockingbird. Then later in the song, he decides to change coarse & be himself & say what he thinks & feels in his songs & being himself & being a 'crow' instead. And the girl in the video did nothing wrong & had no idea of what Hardy would do. Another great song by Hardy that I love is called 'Give heaven some hell'. Also a great message.

The gun he pulled out from under the seat is a TAURUS "JUDGE" PISTOL...hence the line "I never thought my day of justice would come from a judge under a seat" this song is personal to me cause when I was leaving my ex my tough south Texas dad simply said "a bullet don't cost that much" ... I let the courts handle it.. I didn't need him going back for shooting another person ...

He never asked for mercy from the court, he asked for mercy from the Lord. And she's still waiting in the truck for him.

No matter how many times i hear this song, that "angels don't do what he did" line always hits me. The irony is that, if you believe in the bible, angels did just that... and worse. The angel in the Garden of Eden drove Adam and Eve out with a sword of flames. The "angel of death", that God sent to Egypt, killed the first born child of every household that didn't mark their doorways with lamb's blood. They often were deliverers of death and destruction, destroying entire cities. We like to think of angels as being fair haired, beautiful and devine beings that serve to protect us but the reality is that they are God's army, his soldiers, his warriors. Most people don't stop to think about whether or not they would actually want to meet one.

I hate it when women don't appreciate the price men pay for them. He's in jail possibly for life. She's free. He didn't have to do what he did; women expect these luxuries from men. Pampered.

When I was 17, I was married and pregnant and my husband beat me nearly every day. I was young, and scared to leave. I thought I had no way out. He threatened that he would kill me if I left. I tried leaving and he always came after me. Finally, I stayed away long enough to meet someone new. He was bigger, stronger and after seeing my black eye, he took matters into his own hands. He didn't kill him. Just made him wish he was dead. He never touched me again.
