"shed" MY GUY THATS A WHOLE FACILITY
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Lmao word
I have 2 pole barns on my property across from my house. As a guy who grew up in Detroit n now lives in the country.... I can say ITS HEAVEN
@@yourhucklebearer9451 here in california i have a 10x10ft tuff shed and call that heaven😆
@isaackershnerART Michigan real estate vs California real estate... Your 10x10 is worth my 60 by 80 pole barn. Lol..
I live in a place called Irish Hills. Between Wamplers Lake and Evans Lake, roughly 5 miles east of Michigan international speedway..
I tried So-cal for a while.... Absolutely gorgeous place save for the graffiti n razor wire all over the freeway signs. It was early 2000s San Diego. 400k for what amounted to a prison cell.
MAN I need a shed like that!!!!
Thank you for this. $80 and now I have strong service in my detached garage. It was sketchy at first but then I plugged the interior D Link into the outlet on my panel and it worked much better.
your house and garage is majestic
Cool need to try this have one for a gaming computer in the same house or panel but need to try this to add Wi-Fi to shed
What state is this? Property looks amazing
Your house is fuckinh amazing 👍🏾
Nice property
This is a good retrofit , but if you're getting power run to a shed get the contractors to run CAT6 or fibre optic cable at the same time.
Amazing vid. Short to the point. All the other videos related to this are long and not informative thank you
Good signal integrity? that's pretty cool! easier than over air
The signal is solid. I only have about 12 Mbps download speed in the house but I still get 6 or so in the shed. I learned that it helps not to plug the units into the same circuit that has inductive loads or power supplies.
What is the router connected to? Why the router anyway?
Where can you get them at, wanting to do the same
So if you were getting 3mb in shed, what is your typical speed in the house? Thanks for great video.
I only have 6mb in the house.
Question sir. Are your house and transformer on different meters? I’m trying to accomplish something similar to get internet to my shop. My house WiFi just isn’t quite strong enough. I have one transformer that feeds both house and shop. But they’re on separate meters.
Mine are on the same meter. But I think it would still work with 2. You might try it and take the power line adapters back if it doesn’t work.
Is your shop heated? If not how is your router holding up in the winters? From what I'm reading below freezing can adversely affect routers and my shop is only heated if I'm working in it.
No, my shop is not heated. My router is holding up well it’s been down to -20°F and no issues not that I spend a lot of time in my shop when it’s that cold but I haven’t had issues once it warms up. I’m not sure what model it is, but it was the cheapest Belkin router I can find.
Put in another outlet in your shop and plug that right into it and it will improve your speed on it.
Sometimes if you switch it to the other hot leg on another outlet it will speed it up. They like to be on the same bus bar.
I have 2 sets, I love them. They will easily do 100MB speed but it sounds like you have slow internet at the house Anyway. Good video
I wish they had something that would work for me. My metal building has solar power only can’t get Wi-Fi from the house.
Do ya recon an extension cord ran from an outside plug at the house supplying all power to the garage with a 3 way splitter inside the garage , with the d link plugged into it would work?
It would work as long as the outlet on the outside of the house is on the same Line as the house d link is plugged into. There are typically 2 vertical Lines in breaker panels. L1 and L2.
why cant you pug into a surge protector ??? also is a gfi plug in the same ?? the antishock pluging ?? whats the reason please i just figured 110 power was 10 power.?? thanks
Not exactly sure why, but I suspect it has to do with the electronics in the surge suppression circuitry. They are very picky about electronics plugged into the same circuit also.
What shed kit is that? Looks awesome.
I just had a local builder do it. 40x 64. I love it. Just put in a bar and bathroom.
@@diy_warrior looks amazing, enjoy it!
If you don’t mind can you tell me more information on exactly what to purchase and where to put it. I need this thanks
Here’s one similar to mine. Prices have gone up since I got mine. Just plug ine into an outlet in your house and an Ethernet cable to your router. Then do the same in your shed with a new router.
TP-Link Powerline Ethernet Adapter Starter Kit - AV1000 Gigabit Port, Plug&Play, Ethernet Over Power, Nano Size, Ideal for Smart TV, Online Gaming, Wired Connection Only (TL-PA7017 KIT) www.amazon.com/dp/B084CZMYNM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_1REWRC3BBEM5AC119S25
@@diy_warrior How do I know if my house and garage have a common power source?
@@billvarady1091 if you can trace it back to a common transformer then they have the same power source. You’d have to have a pretty large acreage to have more than one transformer.
So you have the Ethernet from the shed router to the dlink extender but do you have an Ethernet that connects that cheap shed router to the main router or not? If not then it doesn’t need one because why?!!!
Its wirelessly connected to the main router using the d link devices if i understand correctly.
Do you have links for where you got the router and plug ins?
Sorry no links. But I got them at Menards.
Amazon is more than likely Your best bet. Just look up power line Ethernet adapter. I’d rank netgear, tp-link then d-link in that order. Make sure to get the one that will max your speed. If you pay for more speed (300+Mbps) get one that can support it. Gigabit will be perfect but not necessary if you don’t have that much speed.
Also the key is making sure it’s on the same power source otherwise it won’t work.
Your sheds bigger than my flat
What’s a flat?
@@diy_warrior it’s what they call an apartment in the UK.
TL;DR: PowerLine and a common power source
How does it work when all the door are shut?
Since it has its own router, it works quite well with the doors shut.
So what’s it called? Besides, “one of these”.
If You Listen And Watch He Says And Shows It's A D-Link
👍
So to begin, I would need to install a "common power source" between my outhouse and home. In what universe is that cheap or easy?
You must have a large acreage if your outbuilding and house are not fed by the same transformer.
So i need another router, and cables. Does not sound easy or cheap
I picked up the cheapest router I could find for about $20. The cables are maybe $5.
@@diy_warrior cool thanks
So, nothing special had to be done .. just plug and play router, D-links etc?
Nothing special. Just plug one into your house router and an outlet. And the other one in your shed into an outlet and router. They will be two different networks, but one feeds the other.
Shed... Ha Ha.
Only 3mbps? I get 300mbps and that shit is slowwwwww and spotty. Dafuq
