Free fix for high pitch fan blower squeal - 2011 Chevy Tahoe
Переглядів 479Рік тому
I decided to try some WD-40 on my fan blower and it worked! I had a really annoying squeal that got worse as the fan turned faster. Just four screws to remove and twist the blower out. Few squirts of WD-40 on each side of the shaft and that’s it. It’s easy enough that if it only lasts a few months I’ll just do it again.

DIY Barn resurrection

Our barn had sunk a couple feet on one end so we raised it up, poured concrete piers, replaced some siding and put on a new roof. Most people would have torn it down, but In the end, I think our efforts were worth it.

absolutely beautiful property
Thanks for the video! Any squeaks later on?
Not yet!
Power line forget that. Run Ethernet or use moca over coax or just use ubiquiti point to point
I must say your home set up is gorgeous. I have fantasies on working in my huge shed over looking a lake, maybe a cold beer and no neighbors, my God stay blessed. Wi-fi would be the least of my problems.
TL;DR: PowerLine and a common power source
This is a good retrofit , but if you're getting power run to a shed get the contractors to run CAT6 or fibre optic cable at the same time.
Yeah. Wish I would have thought of that originally.
So you have the Ethernet from the shed router to the dlink extender but do you have an Ethernet that connects that cheap shed router to the main router or not? If not then it doesn’t need one because why?!!!
Its wirelessly connected to the main router using the d link devices if i understand correctly.
The d link isn’t wireless. It carries the internet signal from the main router to the first d link via Ethernet cable, then thru the electrical outlet to the outlet in the shed. The shed d link then takes the signal to the shed router via Ethernet.
How does it work when all the door are shut?
Since it has its own router, it works quite well with the doors shut.
Thanks for asking this!
Where can you get them at, wanting to do the same
Got mine at Menards but they’re probably available on Amazon.
@@diy_warrior I’ve looked
Thank you for this. $80 and now I have strong service in my detached garage. It was sketchy at first but then I plugged the interior D Link into the outlet on my panel and it worked much better.
So what’s it called? Besides, “one of these”.
If You Listen And Watch He Says And Shows It's A D-Link
Helpful!
I guess I would like to see it open and close.
Check out time :20 for closing and :42 for opening
why cant you pug into a surge protector ??? also is a gfi plug in the same ?? the antishock pluging ?? whats the reason please i just figured 110 power was 10 power.?? thanks
Not exactly sure why, but I suspect it has to do with the electronics in the surge suppression circuitry. They are very picky about electronics plugged into the same circuit also.
your house and garage is majestic
wouldn't it make more sense to loosen the nut on the inner end before disassembling the outer end? also maybe clean the threads and use yellow spray paint to mark the threads for accurate reassembly?
what kind of electric torque wrench tool do you recommend? I don't have access to an air compressor. Thank you.
Sorry I’ve never used one so can’t recommend one.
Tried with Ethernet, didn’t work
Got the same idea im gonna use 2 openers one for each side so i dont have to pullie anything for my big door. Once you buy one extension your usually halfway to another opener and i would probably need 2 extensions which doesnt work with belts. The Wire them together and porgram on same button together.
Right on
Why did you take the caliper off ? thats a hole lot more work thats not needed ive done this twice to my 2013 kia optima lx and never took the caliper off thats a hole other job. Unless the caliber needed replaced. Also your supposed to break the lock nut loose before taking the tie rod off. But i think i need to do mine again and wanted to see wht symptoms people were having. My optima is pulling to left on highway. And turning really wide and i got a alignment and balance a month a go
did the tech who did the alignment first check the play in the tie rods? how could an alignment be done accurately with play in the system?
I wish they had something that would work for me. My metal building has solar power only can’t get Wi-Fi from the house.
What is the router connected to? Why the router anyway?
Only 3mbps? I get 300mbps and that shit is slowwwwww and spotty. Dafuq
Cool need to try this have one for a gaming computer in the same house or panel but need to try this to add Wi-Fi to shed
"shed" MY GUY THATS A WHOLE FACILITY
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Lmao word
I have 2 pole barns on my property across from my house. As a guy who grew up in Detroit n now lives in the country.... I can say ITS HEAVEN
@@yourhucklebearer9451 here in california i have a 10x10ft tuff shed and call that heaven😆
@isaackershnerART Michigan real estate vs California real estate... Your 10x10 is worth my 60 by 80 pole barn. Lol.. I live in a place called Irish Hills. Between Wamplers Lake and Evans Lake, roughly 5 miles east of Michigan international speedway.. I tried So-cal for a while.... Absolutely gorgeous place save for the graffiti n razor wire all over the freeway signs. It was early 2000s San Diego. 400k for what amounted to a prison cell.
What size motor did you use?
1/2 hp
I dig it, thanks!
Shed... Ha Ha.
Is your shop heated? If not how is your router holding up in the winters? From what I'm reading below freezing can adversely affect routers and my shop is only heated if I'm working in it.
No, my shop is not heated. My router is holding up well it’s been down to -20°F and no issues not that I spend a lot of time in my shop when it’s that cold but I haven’t had issues once it warms up. I’m not sure what model it is, but it was the cheapest Belkin router I can find.
👍
Can you still move them manually and independently?
Yeah. You can just pull the rope and release the latch just like regular garage doors.
To make it easier, loosen the lock nut first before pulling the tie rod end of the knuckle.
Amazing vid. Short to the point. All the other videos related to this are long and not informative thank you
Do ya recon an extension cord ran from an outside plug at the house supplying all power to the garage with a 3 way splitter inside the garage , with the d link plugged into it would work?
It would work as long as the outlet on the outside of the house is on the same Line as the house d link is plugged into. There are typically 2 vertical Lines in breaker panels. L1 and L2.
Loctite on a tie rod end??? Lol. I feel bad for the alignment tech
Yeah. Glad I’m not him. Although if the new one is the exact same as the old one AND you tighten to the exact same thread, you shouldn’t need an alignment.
@@diy_warrior thanks for the video! But its only true if the tire is aligned perfectly to begin with 😅
MAN I need a shed like that!!!!
What shed kit is that? Looks awesome.
I just had a local builder do it. 40x 64. I love it. Just put in a bar and bathroom.
@@diy_warrior looks amazing, enjoy it!
Question sir. Are your house and transformer on different meters? I’m trying to accomplish something similar to get internet to my shop. My house WiFi just isn’t quite strong enough. I have one transformer that feeds both house and shop. But they’re on separate meters.
Mine are on the same meter. But I think it would still work with 2. You might try it and take the power line adapters back if it doesn’t work.
Keep doing more
Thanks for this video
Sometimes if you switch it to the other hot leg on another outlet it will speed it up. They like to be on the same bus bar. I have 2 sets, I love them. They will easily do 100MB speed but it sounds like you have slow internet at the house Anyway. Good video
Your house is fuckinh amazing 👍🏾
If you don’t mind can you tell me more information on exactly what to purchase and where to put it. I need this thanks
Here’s one similar to mine. Prices have gone up since I got mine. Just plug ine into an outlet in your house and an Ethernet cable to your router. Then do the same in your shed with a new router. @@diy_warrior How do I know if my house and garage have a common power source?
@@billvarady1091 if you can trace it back to a common transformer then they have the same power source. You’d have to have a pretty large acreage to have more than one transformer.
going to rig similar for my new shop did you rig up the safety stops on the system
No but it’s key to have an opener with force adjustment.
So to begin, I would need to install a "common power source" between my outhouse and home. In what universe is that cheap or easy?
You must have a large acreage if your outbuilding and house are not fed by the same transformer.
So i need another router, and cables. Does not sound easy or cheap
I picked up the cheapest router I could find for about $20. The cables are maybe $5.
@@diy_warrior cool thanks
Very nice dog
Is there a way to extend it even farther? Let’s say to open the door to 13 feet?
You can add more opener extensions and chain/cable and make it as long as you want.
Thanks so much for this video! Very helpful. I found the dog to be a great addition, too!
