✅ How To Extend Wifi To Another Building WITHOUT Ethernet - Garage Barn Pond - Ueevii P2P Bridge

- No ethernet, no PROBLEM; here's how to send your wifi to another building even if its miles away! Get wifi signal to far away locations using a point to point (P2P) wifi bridge. Here's a UeeVii one (product links below) that I use for under $100 for a pair. This acts or "appears" like an ethernet cable to the devices on either end, no special setup or configuration is needed. In fact these come pre-configured as a pair and are literally "plug n play", just mount them and point them at each other and they will self connect. The max speed for these is 100mbps but unlike wifi "max speed" this 100mbps is very achievable in the real world since its the ethernet port that is the bottle neck, the wireless theoretical max is several hundred mbps. UeeVii provided the P2P Bridge for review.

Very thorough. Proving those wires don't run themselves. Great video. Thank you.
Thanks for watching! Glad you liked it.
Great video. I have a pole barn down the hill from my house that's a dead spot for cell coverage. I've been looking for a solution. Thank you for taking the time to film this
Cargo shorts are the greatest thing ever developed for DIY dads, full stop. Great video!
LOL! Full dad mode.
Dam, gorgeous property can't help but notice with your birds eye view shot...thats awsome. Thank you for the help with figuring out my wifi issue for my cameras...though I do think I am just going to bridge with an old router
That's literally like my dream home. So beautiful!
Thank you, it was a great find for us!
Thanks for the video Nate.
No problem!
Heading to Amazon now to check them out. Might be just what in need to get WiFi in my shop. Thanks for the info Nate!
Any time! Should work well for you.
Good Video! Very nice property!
The fact that the router remains part of the AI Mesh is surprising, considering that you've used TP-Link to extend WiFi. I will do the same connecting the second house to the primary (also using ASUS routers I already have). And there is a good reason to use CAT 8 instead of lowers as the higher it is, the better insulation of the cables from electrical waves is. Thank you for the video! Just what I was looking for!
Beautiful property 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼 good job !
Thanks!
Great Video. I'm going to give it a try. This is essentially howa Wireless Internet Service Provider works, just on a larger scale with better equipment. Pretty cool point to point AP set up.
Works great!
Could you get away with indoor deployment if they were pointing through glass window? When would you use these instead of a router / wifi access point with wifi bridge mode configuration option like linksys ea6350v4 device?
If I ever get a Barn or shed, seems like a good option!
Awesome video!
Thanks!
Well done. Thanks for the video.
You're welcome!
This is exactly what I was looking for to give me internet access in my barn, about same distance from the house as yours is. thx
You're welcome!
What brand are those bridges was looking for some is very helpful when you find a good video. Thanks
Hey Jake, the components I used are listed in the video description with links to the products on amazon.
Lt. Dan installs a wifi bridge :P
Good tutorial.
😄
Damnit... now I can't unsee it!

Hey! Great video. I am trying to do the same thing but I can’t figure out how to configure the router that will be connected to the ueefii slave unit in my barn. You mentioned the mesh router system. Do they hook up automatically? Or do you have to hook them onto your computer and reconfigure them?
i use a asus aimesh setup. you have to connect the mesh system up manually like ua-cam.com/video/5kse94JM0IA/v-deo.html
@@NaterTater can I use any mesh router system? Such as D-Link? I can’t get asus around my area.
@@Earthyorganics the mesh system would need to allow ethernet backhaul. Some are wireless only and that wont work with a p2p bridge setup.
Noticed your Gage rd sign... that's my name, pretty unique.
Nater Tater, I followed your recommendation to extend LAN/Internet to remote buildings too far for ethernet cable by using a wireless bridge. I needed to push Aimesh LAN to out building 391 feet from house with no obstruction so I used your solution of UeeVii CPE bridge. You claimed it connects automatically once connected without user input. Yes once the POEs are connected and channel matched for Master and Client, they connected within 2 minutes. But, did you forget to mention it requires user programming of the bridge units to connect the LAN? Mine (Win10) shows "hidden network" and no Internet due to invalid IP. I use DHCP on the routers and laptop. Do I need to change the two bridge IPs to a specific IP, then set a static IP on the router? How did you get your router to pass the LAN signal without re-configuring? (I use the same routers as you.)
Follow up: I always new there was a simple solution but no one offered. I forgot that ethernet connections to router don't work as easily as WiFi. The router DHPC won't function unless booted after connection from an ethernet device. So every time I installed bridge I could only get "IP invalid". By chance I happened to re-boot the main mesh router, then it recognized the device and assigned an IP for the LAN. Now it works.
The accepted speeds for this bridge is a drop of 80% at 200 feet. However I have clear line of sight, strong connection and get -95%. The problem I have is that I use the 1 Gbps port on the CPE 820 and Cat 7 cable both ends into two 1 Gbps ports on routers but only get 20 Mbps from 450 Mbps service. The router shows all devices connected to ports at 1 Gbps rate except for the CPE 820 which shows 100 Mbps. Anyone explain why the advertised 1 Gbps ports only connect as 100 Mbps regardless of physical port selected? (Router does supply 2.5 Gbps speed for ports.)
Nate, I just used an old(er) Netgear Router to "Bridge" with my main router on a guest network using WPA2 Encryption (would have preferred WPA3, but the secondary router would not let me do that). Now I can connect via ethernet to the secondary router (located on the other side of the house) LAN port and get 2.4GHz internet. I plan to get a PoE Access Point so I can get more coverage on the side of the house opposite the main router. I'm getting about 1/2 - 3/4 speed compared to the main router (Beryl Travel Router) on 5GHz which is not so bad since I'm getting between 250-300 Mbs on the main router. Took me 2 days, working out the IP configurations but I finally got it done. Thanks again for your help and guidance.
Good job getting that figured out
@@NaterTater thanks! Hooked it up to my Apple TV and Roku via Ethernet for some great speeds! Super stoked. I'll get an Access point down the road!
Great Job!!!! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Great video... Which do u think is better the UeeVii Or the TP that u have....need to run Wifi out to my barn???
They seems very similar but I would probably favor the tp-link one. amzn.to/3uSwM8Z
@@NaterTater Thanks for the quick reply bud
No explanation of set up, just installation. Still of value to watch.
It's plug n play so installation is the setup.
@@NaterTater That is not what is shown on other set up youtube videos. I hope you are right.
Does this bridge need line of sight?
Will it transmit through tree tops.
I can't get a literal line of sight between my structures that are about 1,000' apart.
It works best with visual but not hard requirement.
Well, ground took a lightening strike, conducted through ISP MoCA into house through modem then followed Ethernet cable to router. Damaged all my routers in Ai Mesh connected by Ethernet backhaul and destroyed all devices connected to main router on Ethernet, including Ethernet over Power adapters, security system and one PC. I now have Ethernet surge protectors and use wireless connections more. Your P2P system looks intriguing. What is the maximum range between points? Do you find signal disruption in severe weather like snow, high wind, heavy rain?
Max range is miles with clear line of sight. I havent had this pair in bad weather but dont notice an issue with my other pair. I have fairly short spans though so I wouldnt think I'd be sensitive to that.
@@NaterTater Thanks for the info. I will definitely look into the P2P Bridge setup.
Will the router on the receiving end need any configuration? if so could you help us with it please? thank you in advance.
In my case I use a AiMesh system so it auto configures all the nodes (routers). Otherwise you could just put whatever router you use in AP mode (access point) so then your main router would control all the DHCP, firewall, dns, etc
Do you get wireless internet inbetween the barn and the barn furthertest away? like around the tennis court?
yes with my new system: ua-cam.com/video/34NZwJh4N84/v-deo.html
Hi Nater Tater! Could you give us a update on how the bridge is working a year later? Thanks for the video!!
I don't even think about it or touch it. Always just works.
you can use fiber cable
Do you have to sign up and pay every month with that router through an internet service provider?. I mean a cellular phone network provider.
No. Its point to point, doesnt provide internet by itself.
Dang, nice property.
Thanks, we enjoy it.

Other than that great video. I am constantly wondering what I can do to get outdoor Wi-Fi. My range can go up to 500 ft.
Are you able to get starlink in your area, and if you are would you ever try it out?
It is rolling out but the cost pushed me away. May try it out sometime.
@@NaterTater Sweet, hope they lower cost of dish and monthly. Be crazy competitive if they did.
Following up. Did you ever get Starlink? I am currently using it and very happy with it other than I’m bummed at how expensive it is. .
Curious on how well this would work with the Starlink mesh system 🤔
Be cautious to never cross over or get close to high voltage wires with any audio or internet cables, this will cause your internet to be spotty and audio to Humm.

what about grounding wires for the antennas?
They do have a grounding terminal you can use if desired.
Brother I just want to know what you do for a JOB??? You have a beautiful home!!!!!
Thanks, we enjoy it. I'm a engineering manager and a youtube star (ha!). My wife also works and in fact was the bread winner for many years. Here's a little more details: ua-cam.com/video/At-dMyF3QSU/v-deo.html
Could u include name, good place to buy, cost?
Thank u.
Links are in the video description and first comment.
My shop is just over 1/2 mile from my house. Will this work that far away?
Yes if you have good line of sight. Like not over a hill or thick woods.
@@NaterTater There are two rows of trees perpendicular to the signal path but I have chain saws.
Wireless wire! Am I in the future?!
waayy wait WAIT..... i see the tennis court i mean hockey rink... what happened to the enclosed heated olympic pool?!
got cancelled due to inflation/construction costs
you should have just used the epmp 180 they go 10 miles
How much are you paying a month through that router?.
This wireless bridge doesnt have a monthly fee, its just point to point.
How fastest can it go?
Max 100Mbps
Does this work as a repeter
No
@@NaterTater what would you recommend for a good long range wifi repeater for Drones
Ubiquity nano beam.
Why do you need wifi in that far building. Don't you have cellular signal interesting
Why don't I need wifi in that far building!? Actually its for security cams and things like smart plugs for some of my equipment.
