      Because all new music sucks, dontcha know. It's not until it's about ten to fifteen years old that it starts being socially acceptable to like it, then after about twenty to thirty years it starts being considered "classic."
      But yeah let's be real, MCR was always pretty fucking great. Between them and several other bands, the mid-2000s were definitely a high point in the history of rock music.

      @@pgnfz The rock community is inherently a cultural bubble. Just think about it, it's a bunch of people who admire a specific genre of music. I gotta admit that the emo aesthetic really put me off MCR, and if it weren't for Danger Days introducing me to the band I wouldn't be a fan. The fact that people still listen to the Black Parade out of its context and talk about it is a really good thing. I have no doubt in my mind that people will remember the Black Parade as fondly as classics from decades ago like Led Zeppelin IV.

    • @pgnfz
      @pgnfz 4 роки тому +8

      000 001 man if the rock community is a bubble like u sad, imagine the 2000 pop punk Emo era lol that’s too específic and just for a really short time, I know people that like all kinds of rock sub genrs and biggest part of then or never heard about it or if heard they have many prejudice thoughts about then without really check their songs. So is a fact that just a people inside a bubble inside another bubbles really like and respect then.

Great choice. They may be known as a "emo" band but this album was deeply rooted in the greatest rock of the past 40 years.

    MRC saved my life. They continue to save my life. The always advocated hope for the outcasts, the traumatized, the victimized, and the pained with their music. To me, their songs never wallowed in those emotions. It asks you grow from them while also validating them.

    @Glitch in the Matrix Multi-Media I think the lyrics is talking more about death and that it is ok to accept death and let go. I think the Black Parade represents death. The person who is talking/singing for the majority of the song is letting the person, that is dying, know that it is ok to let go and that they will be remembered and their loved ones will carry on.
    Sometimes the people who are dying need reassurance that it is ok to let go, especially those with painful sicknesses like cancer. They need that reassurance so they can die peacefully and without worrying about those they are leaving behind.

    Hello! I just came across your channel today. I love reaction videos, especially the ones where people are soooo genuine like y'all. I like jamel aka jamal and india reacts too. But your kids are AWESOME! They are beautiful! Your wife must be a knockout too. Really enjoying your content. Don't be afraid to let the kids drive. I would love to see your reactions to "their" music. My daughter is 23 but knew who the Beatles were when she was 3. Thank you for sharing your family.

    I'm so glad my brother put this song by MCR on my first ipod back in 2006 when I didn't know how to put music on it. Got me into all of their music. Amazing band.

    This was interesting to listen/watch. I'm glad that you two mentioned My Chemical Romance's look/video because that does usually throw people off. It did when the song was first released (I was one of those people even though at the same time I fall into generation you referred to) and continues to do so, but for those who can look past the weirdness they realise that MCR play good music.

      What about shifting the way into the more darker or more punk stuff and show him AFI? The album Decemberunderground came out around the same time as The Black Parade and they share similar themes. Sing the Sorrow- the album before Decemberunderground could also work as an intro.

    Being a person that has been to too many ERs and funerals, this song is perfect. Going through tough times like that you feel you have to be strong for yourself and others. You might have fear and anger while trying to uplift. The song also shows that it is ok to embrace and accept death (for both the one who has passed and the loved ones they left). At the end of the day, we will all be joining the black parade

    The Black Parade is a rock opera centering around the character of "The Patient". It is about his passage out of life and the memories he has of it. "The Patient" dies and death comes for him in the form of a parade. This is based on singer Gerard Way's notion of death appearing to a person in the form of their fondest memory, in this case seeing a marching band as a child.

    The theory is a song will speak to your heart when someone you love dies. I heard this song, probably not for the first time, when my Grandfather was dying. I was his full time, 24/7 care provider and I was frustrated (much stronger feeling at the time) with his 4 children basically running over me and my feelings. Something about this song gave me a feeling of peace; in my heart it was my Nonna (who had died the year before) and my Pop giving me strength to stand up to my Mom, Aunt and Uncles. To this day. 9 years later, I still get a rush when listening to this song. As a matter of fact, I got that rush while typing this response. "Sometimes I get the feelin'
    she's watchin' over me" -- my Nonna "We'll carry on, we'll carry on
    And though you're dead and gone, believe me Your memory will carry on" -- My Pop "Do or die, you'll never make me
    because the world will never take my heart Go and try, you'll never break me" -- both of them giving me power to stand up to my bully family
