Good job. I always had people blocking me when I'd be going by on the right side. Guess they didn't want me to clear the road lol. Without us road would never get cleared
I've been towing for a few years and there is always something new to learn. I never thought of putting blocks on the steer tires so that you don't have to keep jumping from the cab of the truck to your controls. Hell yeah man! And it blows my mind why dude had 3 different bridals on there when I seen that I thought to myself yep that's gonna catch the bed
Our traffic police units wouldn’t allow steel shovels or nylon brushes because of the risk of sparks with any fuel leaks. They had to be plastic shovels and none nylon brushes, very strict and we had to have a foam fire extinguisher at all clean up. Loving your footage keep it up. MikeB UK 🇬🇧🇬🇧
plastic shovel and nylon brushes spread microplastic, so thats dumb aswell. i think steel shovel/wooden shovel is fine + organic brushes like coconut leaf stalk broom is so much better. if you dont move the steel too much it wont create any park. move around the broom/brushes
Looking at the condition of the interior (and the temp tags) i wouldnt be surprised if that audi had been previously crashed and had the airbag removed and just the cover replaced
very interesting how you use the blocks on front steer tires to make it go straight up the bed, only been towing in a rollback for about 6 months, very good to know..appreciate the video keep them coming, good work and stay safe edit: real nice of you to help the other guy…i was stupefied by the amount of bridals he had on there at once
I wasn’t expecting this video yet after seeing the pictures yesterday. I saw several people say the Audi was driving crazy before the accident. Idk why people act so crazy trying to get to the island because they always make things worse as if backup going out there isn’t already an issue without having accidents.
Unfortunately, I was running low on Content, and I was hoping to be able to post one more video for the end of the month. So I decided to post this one
@@Towtruck_Dustin oh I definitely get it. I just figured it would be a couple of weeks after your picture was shared in the BC groups, so I knew we would eventually see it. I’m just glad LE was able to get the person safely off the bridge too.
A vehicle’s SRS computer uses a verity of variables to determine which airbags shall deploy in a given accident. If the vehicle decides that it isn’t safe to deploy a specific airbag, it won’t. For example if the driver is holding the horn, or pressing buttons on the steering wheel the vehicle will determine that it’s safer to not deploy the driver side steering wheel airbag as it could lead to broken bones or more serious injuries. The vehicle will also determine the passenger’s weight to verify if it’s safe to deploy the dashboard airbag on the passenger side. Every manufacturer is different in how they program their specific SRS computer and the variables I’ve just stated are just a small percentage of the amount of logic that an SRS computer has to deal with during an accident. I do a lot of programming logic for the computers inside of Tesla, Audi, BMW and Land Rover vehicles and have some experience with this type of stuff. Anyhow, I hope this clears up some confusion! 😊 Note: If no airbags deployed in a serious enough accident then it’s safe to assume that a bad SRS computer or crash sensors are the culprit.
THIS is what we all love to see, tow opertors helping each other regardless of what company they work for. Far too often the bosses of a business turn it into a competition.
It's a sad thing here in Texas these days, people just follow way too close and drive like the wind. When I first got my license, (1966) folks were very congenial and thoughtful to one another - no more. Far too many not from here.
Other tow guys bridle is a interesting setup for sure. I carry a 5th wheel puller for tiems when it hooks the bed. Felt bad seeing guy crawling around under neath. Training seems needed for him. I hate seeing companies that set their guys up for failur or i jury
Good question. It really depends on what kind of work you plan on doing. The 5500 (class 5 medium duty) trucks are good for most everything other than the bigger trucks like a 2500 or 3500. So they work great in the city, where you tow mostly cars, but if you tow a lot of full size trucks or equipment, I’d definitely go for a bigger Class 6 medium duty flatbed.
I have seen were the State Patrol here in Minnesota have took the tow away from another company bc there equipment in doing the job and they want the highway or road ways clear . My Dad (R.I.P) had a 2093 Ford Escape XLT beautiful SUV and put a lot of money into a new motor well one day him & my mom were visiting me and were in my place I went to putvthe garbage in the dumpster before I could reach the back door some senior lady plowed in the rear end snapping the rear axle . The lady's car was totalled and the local tow company towed the Fergus Falls police were ready to have them tow my parents vehicle bc the gut we had was taking to long but he finally got and towed it to my parents place My parents paid for the tow and got Reimburst from are insurance company .
Getting the job done is only one part of the over all picture, factoring in the time you get the call, time to get to the accident scene, the loading, the clean up, the drive back to the yard, unloading, and the paperwork, all of that combined it what makes the work work. I should hope that your employer understands all that when they ask why it takes so long to get the job done
The laws vary for different states. In Texas, we can run red and blues only on the rear. Other states like Missouri, can run red and blues, as well as sirens, so they can run “code” at the request of law enforcement. Just have to know your states laws.

I believe that was a mini-J bridle, with big J chains hooked into the grab hooks. Which would work in a pinch, but all that extra chain is an issue.
