I always thought it was interesting how Lex referred to Whitney as "the quarterback" almost exclusively. It was his subtle way of dehumanizing him to Clark, so he wouldn't feel guilty about "taking" another guy's girlfriend. Smallville was often a goofy teen show and a goofy superhero show (sometimes separately, sometimes together), but it still had depth.
Well if there one thing that is true Lex telling Clark that their friendship will be a legend.

A world where the Last Son of Krypton and the Smartest Man on Earth have a legendary friendship. Imagine what they could have accomplished together, instead of Luthor squandering so much genius and talent on efforts to attack or undermine Superman.

It was, for the first five seasons anyway, a brilliant brilliant show. Series 2 and 3 were stellar.

I just started watching Smallville again, I I starting to realize that lex was. Good friend to Clark, you can't blame lex for being curious and trying to find out the truth! In fact Clark lied to lex more then lex did to clark
Lex was such an amazing character. He started by being as good a man as Clark, but fate just screwed him over. Tragic figure.

Their rivalry was definitely the stuff of legend.
That moment where Lex wanted Clark's blood, THAT'S when everyone found out who he really was but Clark. That's why Lex's father tried to kill him in the first place. And the fact, Lex stored his Porsche in the mansion and kept it there even when he married Lana, fucking disgusting. Lionel knew about Clark since day one. 🤷 Lex's own obsession really and what he does to people when they don't tell him what he wants to hear. Control freak. 🤷

Clark could've easily saved Lex. All he had to do was be a good friend.
He was, Clark gave lex chance after chance after chance. Even stood up for lex when talking to john Kent.

I’ve often wondered if Lex’s friendship with Clark was ever genuine, or if Lex was trying to manipulate Clark from day one. Honestly, it’s kinda hard to tell.
It was to some degree.
A little bit of both initially. Slowly gravitated to just trying to learn his secret.
So does he never fly in this show? Just realized and started thinking about it

@@CallOfEuropeanSpirit he flew a couple of times in earlier seasons as well, but Clark was never in control of his actions at the time. He was always under the influence of an alien force or something like that. He didn’t choose to fly until the series finale when he finally became Superman.
