There was a moment when it might not have been doomed (though of course we knew it would be, since we knew Lex grows up to be a bitter nemesis to Superman). If Clark had included Lex in his circle of trust the way he did Pete, Lex could have become his greatest ally. And that's really what Lex wanted all along: to be as important to Clark as Clark was to him. "I owe you, Clark." "You're like the little brother I never had." My fiancé and I just started to rewatch the series. It's been years since I last saw it and I so I forgot how close of a bromance Clark and Lex had. Lex is my favorite character and it's sad knowing that they become enemies down the line.
And then his real nature as a Luthor kicks in and he tries to control Clark. When that doesn't work he is now armed with Clark's biggest secrets and Future villain Lex Luthor is armed with everything he needs to dominate Superman. You shouldn't take for granted that he is evil. He isn't "just" evil as there is more to his character but his control freak tendencies have been present from the very first episode. Clark's friendship was never enough to show Lex the way to the light, it just delayed the inevitable.
@@michaelosobaye8464 He did try to help battle his inner demons. It didnt work. Unlike with Lana, it wasnt clarks secrets that brought lex to the dark side. Season 8 was Dark, The Doomsday Arc was a dark chapter and it was one of Clark’s darkest chapters. Despite the fight scene being a let down, Season 8 hit a lot of different points, - Lois feelings for Clark develop ❤️ - Oliver journeys over to his dark side 😈 - Lex dies (Oliver killed him) 🤯 - The Final Chapter Of Lana & Clark 💔 - Jimmy dies by the hands of Davis - Clark Kent No More. The reason why it’s one of my favorite seasons is because the season is all about Identity. Davis and Doomsday, how Davis was having a hard time to control the beast within him. Oliver chooses his dark side and kills Lex and thinks he did a world a favor but tore apart of his soul away. Towards the end the season, Clark wanted to save Davis from his dark side but when Davis finds out the truth about Chloe he loses his mind and in anger kills Jimmy in pure rage. It was a shocking moment that no one expected.
I am finally getting around to finishing the series, watching this video and looking back to what they used to be and what they are slowly becoming more and more as I watch and as I already know, this is seriously sad. 😢
Part of me thinks of clark was honest then lex wouldn't of turned on him. But at the same time i think he would of tried to take advantage of Clark but in his eyes for the greater good. With lex and sups it's all about ego
Did all you people saying Lex would have been good if Clark told him the truth actually watch Smallville? Go back and watch even the earliest episodes of Season 1. Lex was manipulating and deceiving Clark from the very beginning. He was never a real friend. You all remember Roger Nixon? Lex repeatedly lied about the nature of his relationship with him, covering up that he personally hired Nixon to investigate Clark.
This video is so heartbreaking. Oh, what they lost....
So true 😭. I wish Clark told lex his secret and then they wouldn’t be enemies today

" You're closer to me than any blood brother ." This is so sad knowing how things turned out between them ...
I know right I kinda wish Clark did tel, lex his secret I think lex would of protected Clark
This is amazing. I always loved their bromance. I felt sad the way it broke apart
Yes it was sad
Yeah. It felt like Smallville died too even before the series ended

1:45 is one of my favorite moments in the whole show lmao “for arguments sake, lets call them Lana and Chloe”
I like how lex saw right through Clark immediately. He be like "homie stop bullshitting, who you like?"
Enjoyed that scene very much too 😁

Honestly it was lies and mistrust on both sides. Lex also was manipulative and too much of his father’s son at times

Seasons 1-4 were always my favorite
I wish lex and clark would've shared their secret :( so sad
Be interesting to see a What If scenario where Clark does tell Lex his secret early on.
Right !!! 🔥 I wonder how that would turn out.
If only i genuinely believe hed be a better man
chances are lex would have helped Clark become the hero he was ment to be much sooner
I hope they creat a mutiverse where they became good friends.
I think ur right lex could also protect Clark more than Martha and Jonathan since he has alot of power and money
Wow....Just realized that Lex was right. Clark never did get either Lana or Chloe.
Lex was the best part of smallville
That moment when you realize Lex Luthor is the one who named Clark the Man of Tomorrow.
Wonderful casts n scripts....love lex character before he turn to evil lex 😍
LOL! I looked it up out of curiosity, and that book Clark was reading about women is real! HAHA!

It was lex' obsession with Clark's secret that put on the path of no return. If he just trusted him, he would be a path towards the light
Not gonna lie, I thought Clark was going to use his super speed right after Lex offered the tickets, and then explain later haha.

"For argument's sake let's call them Lana and Chloe”, Lex sense of irony is on point.

That last one hinted at his real brother, finally picked up on that😂
Love is a gamble.
What's funny is that lex gives clark good advice some what he uses in the future
Their strong but complicated friendship was the best part of this show.
Lex- ill raise the bet tickets and round trip limo ride .
the one scene i really want to see if when lex given the foyle sword to Clarke. i cant find it anywhere no m atter how hard I try.
