    It has a bit of a flat spot from 4-6k rpm. I had my cbr650r ECU flashed and it made a huge difference. Also got full racing exhaust, quick shifter, and performance air filter. Mine can even beat an r6 depending on which gear we start in. It’s a seriously amazing bike.

      Sounds. Great with those upgrades !

    • @180FiftyFive

      lol yeah if the R6 starts in 6th? its a nice bike but dont kid yourself, its not going to outrace an R6

    • @jsarwari5556
      @jsarwari5556 3 роки тому +18

      @@180FiftyFive it actually can in second gear. The torque on the cbr kicks in pretty fast. And by the time the r6 revs high enough to blast past, it’s already put distance between it. So yes it can out race an r6 or beat it in a drag race. Notice how I said certain gear, overall an r6 is obviously the more powerful bike…

    • @jsarwari5556
      @jsarwari5556 3 роки тому +8

      @@180FiftyFive also the r6 having higher hp and and higher top end will always beat a cbr if you both hit top speeds. But cbr can still gap it early on.

    Got back into biking after 35 years! Bought a new CBR500 in Sept and already covered 2K miles riding through the Yorkshire Dales and beyond. I feel I will be ready for an upgrade in a few months and very tempted by the CBR650... a very informative review ...great thanks!

      (Neil Sanderson) same story hadn’t been on bike since I was 17, I’m now 54, got the cbr500 put about 4800 miles on it over a year, then upgraded to the cbr650r, which was a very smooth transition, very similar until you go over 7000revs, both great bikes!

    I love this bike. Looks as sporty as you'd like and can keep up with most bikes out there in the twisties. Obviously it's not going to keep up with the modern 1000cc sport bikes, but, if you're looking for a sporty every day bike that can be fun on the weekends and has enough but sensible power, this is a great option. A Great second bike for a young sport bike fan. A little heavy, but shouldn't be a problem for anyone with a little bit of bike experience. 💖💖👏🏼👏🏼

    Hey Mark I have 2019 model for almost two years now and I wanted to share my take on the bike.
    1- As you ride past 6k-10k kms vibrations start to taper off. If you buy 90-ish octane fuel or lower, this bike will definitely vibrate.
    With 100 octane fuel or higher, you'll get nothing until 8k-9k rpms.
    2- I found that if you ride in rain, you'll definitely see rain spray coming all the way up to upper triple camp from the front wheel because of the way front fairing is designed.
    3- I don't know the asphalt quality in UK but in my country, it's not very safe to use the stock tires especially in the rain.
    Overall, I think this is the most affordable semi-super-sport bike in the market right now. Now that every manufacturer is moving towards in-line 2 bikes, it is nice to see Honda sticking to good old in-line four. It's really good for fun mountain roads or some track days. it's good-ish in terms of comfort and ride-ability in heavy downtown traffic.
    Thanks for these videos, cheers mate.

    I had a CBR650F when they first came out in 2014 and was a lovely bike. I rode the R when it first came out and it was better I many respects, but let down badly by a screen you couldn't see and poor fuel economy. If I had the money it would be a consideration for a 2nd bike. It's good value for money and with the extra bhp and Honda reliability I think it beats the new R7 hands down.

    • @DaddyBiker_Reviews
      @DaddyBiker_Reviews 3 роки тому

      @No_Name Fuel economy on the CBR650F was staggering. The published figures for the R were dreadful. If you're buying something as a commuter you want something that's going to be better than the car, and that is/was not.

    • @DaddyBiker_Reviews
      @DaddyBiker_Reviews 3 роки тому

      @No_Name Honda advertise figures significantly lower (49mpg) than that, but I get better than that on average on my 890 Tracer so, is it that good?

    • @DaddyBiker_Reviews
      @DaddyBiker_Reviews 3 роки тому +2

      @No_Name It's a commuter/sports tourer. 90bhp is linear across the rev band. It, like the R7 and "Ninja" 650 is a bit of an insult to CBR. Nice bike, don't get me wrong but not a wannabe Fireblade.

    I bought cbr 600f 2011 (pc41) that was registered first time 2015, from first owner with 18k miles on it and decent service book. Payd around 5000€ for it (in Finland these sell 6-7 grand). Few more ponies than 650, not too close to supersport ergonomics eighter. Honda combined abs system, semi adjustable usd suspension in front and back, very good bike. I think it's little peppier than 650r, wouldn't maybe recommend for first bike but what a lovely little sports tourer it is! I think 600f pc41 is "father of today's 650r" if can say so :) anyway, really good bikes, and the slipper clutch is really nice feature!

    These look good like a mini fireblade. I have an ‘11 CBR600F ABS which have had 7 years. It such a good bike have kept it that long. 101 bhp is nearly as fast as an RR and a lot more comfy. Handling is good though don’t think it’ll be as good as this but that’s a lot newer. As an all rounder it’s been excellent. This looks to like would be a fun allrounder with decent running costs. Honda build on mine has been really good used all year round. I wouldn’t recommend getting a tail tidy if you use it all year round because in winter it just shits all back end up with no mudguard. I had one then put the original plate holder back on.

    Finding it hard to justify moving up to this from the cbr500. The tires, brakes and some other equipment for the 650 are a step above but in the real world the 500s are perfectly capable of getting the job done and it does other things the same (blinkers, lcd screen, mirrors) if not even better (weight, price, fairing)

    Thanks for the review. Another quality product from Big H, oozing class and value. For the money a great package and great all rounder, but……the engine isn’t as characterful or playful as Yamaha’s MT-07. You really need to cane the CBR at the top of the Rev band to the best out of it; the Yammy has the better bottom and mid-range grunt and is less tiring to ride. Would still consider buying the CBR, however.

    The 650 was the last on the show room floor as the 1000 range were on back order with the colour the buyer wanted. It is ok as a 650 but not able to punch like the 1000. This was also when they bought in the 650 level for beginners at licensing restriction that was never authorized. Making or forcing the sale of 650 from the stores. The 1000 is the only way to go unless your having grand prix works riding on a 650 in a race or class. Even then it is not 650 any more so still the 1000 is the choice of great honda riders as the outlet was told to her. Mmmm

    Thanks as always, Mark. Very nice offering from Honda. I like the looks, the sound, and the handling appears to be great. But, without the cruise control, it doesn't check the touring box for me.
    Like the new 2022 Triumph Speed Twin, there is no cruise control option. Whereas, the rest of the Bonneville lineup offers cruise control. What kind of sense does that make?
    Will you be reviewing the 2022 Speed Twin. It appears to have addictive handling and performance, according to Carole Nash.
    The downs are low gas mileage, crappy front fender (so short it doesn't even protect the radiator from stones, let alone drenching the rider in rain), and of course, no cruise control.
    But it is really light bike, at 474 pounds wet, for a 1200 cc engine. It has 100 ps for this year with 82 ft lbs of torque. Incredible low end pull... noticably more pull than the new Honda 1100 Rebel.
    Then there is that sound of that 270° twin. They modulated it just right. Seems very soothing together with that pull.

      @gorrdd 3 роки тому

      @@markpulling12 Thanks Mark... you're impressions would be of great interest. I was wondering why you hadn't reviewed any Triumphs. Now I understand...
      I have an issue with Triumph's marketing. They appear to be billing their 2022 model as a 2021 year release, calling it the 2021 Speed Twin.
      This is very confusing because when people see that they think it's the 2021 model year. It isn't... the 2021 model year doesn't have any of the most recent 2022 upgrades.
      Thus, when people go shopping they are looking for a 2021 Speed Twin, thinking they are getting the latest offering. They aren't.
      But they sure are helping the Triumph dealers get rid of their 2021 model year stock that have been sitting on the showroom floors for the past year.
      The Speed Twin started to be their biggest seller but after the Covid crap, that screwed their sales for 2020. They look to be sneaking the 2021 models out the back door under pretext to relieve their dealers.
      At least that's my impression based upon what I'm seeing. There'se simply no honest justification for billing the 2022 as the 2021, based upon release date.
