I own the naked version. I'd describe myself as beginner ish and that thing just ticks all the boxes for me. Does feel slow but its incredibly forgiving, can lean that thing around sharp corners without too much fear, scraping pegs and racing my friend on his mt09 in the mountains. Very capable bike plus you dont have to pay crazy insurance and registration since anything "supersports" is terribly expensive to own here
Its an intermediate class bike, not a race bike... Honda doesn't want to compete with their more expensive 600RR, and you realize that for high RPM they need different bore to stroke ratios, different cams, etc. This one has 46mm Bore vs their supersport engine with 42.5mm stroke (that's a huge difference in G-forces at the end of the stroke for the same engine RPM, both are 67mm pistons), and the supersport has other minor things like 12.2:1 compression instead of 11.6:1 (which is easy to change with some sandpaper, but you can't change that piston stroke so easy). They could have made it perform like Kawasaki's 636, which produces 130 HP factory compared to this 649 making between 81 and 94 HP But, they didn't, its not a race bike, its more of a beginner/intermediate bike, like in between their 250cc and 600cc.
@@jakegarrett8109 i agree, its intended for easy street riding and begginers but on a quality aspect. Like you said definitely not in the supersports/racing category as the cbr600rr/yzf-r6/gsxr600 etc.. its intentions are very different. Like a sports touring catergory to say the at the most.

I'm 6'1 and a half, this is very comfortable for our height. One of the reasons I bought the 650R. Great balance of comfort/sport ergo. You can tuck down and use the balls of your feet on the pegs when you're giving it the beans, and also change position for comfort, and ride for hours. First day of riding I was a bit worried but after a week or two of riding my body was completely tuned into the bike.

I feel like if you take some of the top speed off by gearing up in the back and or down in the front with a pipe filter and tune it'd be pretty darn fast
I honestly just hope that Honda makes the design on this more Fireblade-esc, and release a proper black version without some tate blue painted lines on the tank. Wouldn't even be mad if they made an SP with better suspension and brakes. I'm way more interested in the 95hp than the 120 or 200+ on the fireblade.

Get any 600 supersport. Impossible to go wrong. They all run 10s Ricky gadson ran a high 9 on a bolt on r6. Depends on what you are doing with it. I commute 500 plus miles a week. And like 2 gen FJr personally, effortless consistent high tens, 2.8 0-60, full drag launches and won't loop out on you. Runs for 200,000+ miles. Heavy A F. I don't need to go 200 mph. If I haven't won by the 1320, I ain't going to.
I keep wondering if there’s a video of you on a 3rd gen Busa. I’m gonna check, but if there isn’t one you should ride one and post it. I’m looking to buy a new Busa and I’ve scoured UA-cam over and over trying to find any decent videos of someone kinda thrashing one around and there’s nothing, nothing good anyways. We need it Brah, or at least I need it anyways.
Me wondering if anyone actually uses ABS... Haven't had a bike with one yet, and does the control not freak out when doing wheelies or stoppies or stoppy to twisting sideways with the back wheel in the air then dropping down to drift? I'm sure its nice in icy conditions, but even then I don't know how I'd feel about it, I almost want a second button that in case of emergency it activates ABS instead of disable with default on. Its like my car, who actually leaves traction control on? You just learn to drive, you learn to drift, you learn to not smash on the brakes like you're trying to stomp someone that owes you money.
I don’t see the point of abs on motorcycles honestly If you’re riding fast enough to engage the abs on the street then you’re riding too fast anyway and you’re probably gunna crash due to something else My 1999 sv650 has no abs and I ride that thing like a complete idiot. I’ve only ever locked up the rear once when I made an Emergency-stop in the wet, but the front didn’t lock. Didn’t crash. I ride in all weathers You really do have to be riding way too fast to engage abs on bikes, or you have to be ham fisted with all of the controls, in which case you should probably reevaluate whether riding a motorcycle is for you

a nice leather jacket will keep you super warm (you can get looser ones to still move around on ur bike) and the same with nice riding gloves.
“we’re about to do some brah things” 😂
I got a cbr650r brand new had it for a week or to already put 480 miles on it. Fun bike
I own the naked version. I'd describe myself as beginner ish and that thing just ticks all the boxes for me. Does feel slow but its incredibly forgiving, can lean that thing around sharp corners without too much fear, scraping pegs and racing my friend on his mt09 in the mountains. Very capable bike plus you dont have to pay crazy insurance and registration since anything "supersports" is terribly expensive to own here
You should ride the vfr800 if you get the chance. Only slightly slower than a 600 with a much smoother power band. Vtec is pretty cool too
Oh course an Altima almost pulled out in front of the brah
got my '24 just about a week ago, i love this bike :)
I'm glad you are riding this!
I am dying to see what a full system and tune will do for this bike.
They could have made it perform like Kawasaki's 636, which produces 130 HP factory compared to this 649 making between 81 and 94 HP
But, they didn't, its not a race bike, its more of a beginner/intermediate bike, like in between their 250cc and 600cc.
I did a tune and exhaust on mine and it will run almost neck and neck with an R6 now..... Until high 6th gear the R6 has a lot more top end

Brah's top speed in each gear (redlined except 6th, which requires a calendar to fully test)
Good video Brah, loved it!
I have a cb500f, and I didn't need more than 1min to get that thing up to top speed. Pretty sure the bike with double the hp can do it quicker.
You should be at top speed in approx 20 seconds. 650 is just gutless
If you ever get over doing top speed pulls these bikes are great
Yo that's my motorcycle I legit got that cbr650r from Riley 🤣🤣
That’s awesome
Just found out that Riley's is 5 minutes from my place, brb gonna go buy my first bike :0
Love the video bud!! Thanks for the info.
i have been thinking about getting a 650 for a first bike next season. Would you recomend a 650 over a 300-400?
I would. Just put a cage on it because you'll drop/crash it a lot if it's your first bike.
Id say a ninja 400 is the best learner bike, 650 has too much tourqe if you want to learn in the corners
Yeah little too much power a little too much weight.
Get the 300-400! It'll feel slow on the highway, but it'll better facilitate the growth of your handling skills. You'll feel more confident in pushing
My first bike was 21’ mt-07 still haven’t dropped it over a year and 6k miles
You need to do a supermoto review if riley ever gets one, or you should get one for the channel!
Sounds so amazing. I love 4 cyl bikes.
Absolutely, sounds so good with an akrapovic or austin racing exhaust
How tall are you? I'm 6'2" and am curious if it would be comfortable. I love the looks of a sport bike but a common dilemma is comfort, which is why I have a honda rebel
@@charliecalamari650 Thank you so much for responding. I've quickly outgrown my rebel 500 and I am not really a fan of the cruiser look. I'm looking forward to getting myself a cbr650r!
Same for me, im 6' andfound it to be really uncomfortable at first (Im a newcomer that comes from an honda twister 250 and a honda elite 125 before that for years) But now it feels more "loose" doesnt fatigue my arms , etc...
i love your videos so much brah
honda has always done the 4 cyl 650 my dad has a 2012 cbr650 and the old 80-90's nighthawks had a 4 cyl 650
It just looks so fun to rip around on
Yeah definitely wish I lived in Florida. I'd be riding all year there.
Your the man gixxer man
Did you mean parallel twin when referencing competing 650’s? meaning like the ninja 650, mt07, things like that.
yeah i thought so too
man this guy is ROLLING on this 650 😵💫😵💫😵💫
Drive a newer model, the suspension is a bit harder and better! I had my 2021 at 155 mph👍😉
I had my 23 hit just under 160 after being dynoed
@@jacobdesailles6135i had mine at 60mph 😂 still learning
Took mine to 162, custom dyno tuned
I feel like if you take some of the top speed off by gearing up in the back and or down in the front with a pipe filter and tune it'd be pretty darn fast
I honestly just hope that Honda makes the design on this more Fireblade-esc, and release a proper black version without some tate blue painted lines on the tank.
Wouldn't even be mad if they made an SP with better suspension and brakes. I'm way more interested in the 95hp than the 120 or 200+ on the fireblade.
this aged well lol
YOOO you have no idea how stoked I am!!!
I was jumping like a monkey when I saw next year's black one @@AutoJustice
That's one I'm considering as a second sport bike. I just want the soundtrack.
yeah now I really like it, idk if it would be a good buy. But it can get the job done.
Not the way I would describe
@@cassius348 Its actually more entertaining then 80% of beginner bikes... rough take, kinda need to ride one to have a say tho rather then copy and paste every single bop on the internet...
I was debating this bike or the ninja 650 I ended up with the ninja 650 😅 love the sound of the Honda though but my next bike I wanna upgrade to the 636 or the CBR 600rr
What graphics card are u using brah?
Pretty good graphics.
This dude crazy. Love it
Love the 650r
Idk About faster but definitely more comfortable than a super sport. Still great looking and great sounding inline 4 and honda reliability.
Waddup Brah, I’m 22 looking for my first bike. Thoughts on this vs R7 vs Ninja 650?
They are dumping the 600s for these now, sad to see them go.
I liked riding in the winter a hell of a lot more than the summer. I dressed up like the michelin man but its better than pulling up to a date drippping wet.
Gixxer brah, appreciate the t shirt while you can! I’m here in Buffalo with all the snow already!
when you did the zero to 100 time you were just pulling the clutch in and out with the throttle at 100%?
Love your videos G.
The question is not if the 120hp bike is faster than the 95hp bike.
The question is, is the 95hp bike faster than the 120hp bike until it hits it's limiter and loses.
I wanna know if they actually accelerate the same, but the 600 just keeps going abit longer.
Alright, so I don't the extra high end on a 600 at all. But at the same time the 600 wouldn't be more useless down low if I do find a better deal on one. Thanks@@no_name4080
RR600 acceleration its faster in every gear all the time and keeps going on op
@@perimund It's only faster if you're at the power band, there are countless videos which show that even an R7 will gap the R6 under, 8000rpm or what not.
And clearly a 120hp sports bike is gonna be faster than a 95hp sports bike
@Daniel-dj7fh 100% agree, That's where you are supposed to be (in power band) if you are on rece track.
You better watch the 👮♀️ can maybe catch that in the open lol
Had this bike and loved it.. but needed more power and grabbed a 600rr
How you like the 600rr?
It's kind of ridiculous that we only get bikes with like 82hp in this class. Meanwhile, across the pond, their versions all have like 94-96hp. We need more freedom, less emissions restrictions. Can this power discrepancy be made up with a pipe and a tune?
Where are you from?
😂 heard you from my backyard that day. Asked my brother “think he hit something? When the revs stopped 😂😂

Brah, your H2 wheelies were 💪👏👍
Don't forget about the Gixxer 750
Sounds like a newer f4i feeling? Whatcha think about it for a new stuntbike? 🤔😁
Definitely don’t think it’s ideal for stunting. Stock gearing would have to go, bike is a bit long as well, bit heavy and so forth. Love the bike but don’t think it’s suit that purpose well
Bet youd like it uncorked. Theyre terribly restricted from the factory
No Fucken way bro I didn't expect that 🤣 that was sick lol

Impossible to go wrong.
They all run 10s
Ricky gadson ran a high 9 on a bolt on r6.
Do u think this could be a good choise for a rookie?
I keep wondering if there’s a video of you on a 3rd gen Busa. I’m gonna check, but if there isn’t one you should ride one and post it. I’m looking to buy a new Busa and I’ve scoured UA-cam over and over trying to find any decent videos of someone kinda thrashing one around and there’s nothing, nothing good anyways. We need it Brah, or at least I need it anyways.
good video bro💪
My fastest on a CBR650R 2021 was 147mph
Its notable that the suspension is not adjustable either! How come honda wont put that display on their cbr600rr's?
the new 600rr got a way nicer display no?
I'd rather have an analogue display over some low tier lcd, really liked the previous zx6r tach.

How many people don't actually use ABS and why? I seem to always encounter gravel and glad I have it....
Every bike I've ridden with abs I ride worse on, I did learn how to ride on 80s bikes tho
I've only ridden older supersports so I have no Idea if ABS would be useful
Great for new riders, annoying for experienced ones
I don’t see the point of abs on motorcycles honestly
If you’re riding fast enough to engage the abs on the street then you’re riding too fast anyway and you’re probably gunna crash due to something else
My 1999 sv650 has no abs and I ride that thing like a complete idiot. I’ve only ever locked up the rear once when I made an Emergency-stop in the wet, but the front didn’t lock. Didn’t crash. I ride in all weathers
You really do have to be riding way too fast to engage abs on bikes, or you have to be ham fisted with all of the controls, in which case you should probably reevaluate whether riding a motorcycle is for you
Think hayabusa is more your thing. Solid heavy bike, and good for speed and wheelys
Was that mph?
What up brahhh! Try the 765 Daytona moto 2
