@Yammie Noob Finally!!!!! That being said I have a 14 cbr650f. So before they changed the name to the 650r and redid the front half of the bike and added the Showa big piston front forks. 14-18 had Showa bending fork or whatever they called them. Once i get comfortable I will get a video of her up in the mountains or at the track.
I have owned quite a few middleweight bikes such as the Ninja 650, MT-07 and the CBR650R and I must say, the CBR650R is in a class of its own. The high revving smooth engine feels a lot more premium and is significantly more powerful than the usual twins in this class. The dofference is night and day. However, the thing I really emjoyed about the Honda was this premium, upmarlet feeling it gives you. It just feels so well built. The seat is of a high quality material with nice red stitching, paint is all high quality etc. The other middles feel like a toy in comparsion, it's a bit like going from a Mustang to a Mercedes. Although the CBR is quite comfy oriented (more similar to the ninja 650), you can still tuck in and knee drag it if you want, as that extra weight does offer a huge amount of stability and precise handling. I never rode an RS660 though, so I can't comment on that, but I would still take the CBR over all the other middles just for the performance and upmarket build quality alone.
As someone who has a 650r i absolutely love it!! Extremely overlooked dont see many people talk about it. Everyone thinks ninja when they hear 650. This is by far the best 650 imo. The inline 4 is solid and its fun to ring it out but will still keep up with the bigger bikes
Cannot beat a Honda I4.....change the sprockets -1 tooth up front, +3. 4T...you like to go at least +6, +7 overall. Going -1 down up front on the countershaft sprocket equals going about + 3 Teeth at the rear. Probably could do it w/o even buying a new chain. Once you change sprockets, you'll be a giddy little happy shit every time you go WOT !!!
IMO, biggest issue is pricing. You can get a gsxs750, mt09 or z900 for the price of a cbr650r. Each of these bike is a different flavor of better. If you compare to the faired 650 only and ignore pricing the cbr is a lot nicer than the ninja, but the r7 seems like it would be more fun to commute on.
I owned the 2019 CBR650R in black matte, paired it with the sc project full exhaust. A wonderful bike, its not a supersport but a super "sport" bike. Perfect balance between power/torque for everyday riding.
Hello, I am planning to get the cbr650r Just wanted to know how does it perform on highways with 120 km/ hr ++ speed in windy situations? Because I had been thinking to get Mt07 but the wind blast is off putting. I do commute to work but also ride on highways at high speed and sometimes to the mountain curvy roads.
Those CBR650R are one of the most beautiful bikes currently available, I LOVE the visible manifold up front also. That along with that red paint job. For here in Ireland you really don't need any bigger of a bike
The CBR650R is underrated for 650 class. It's a perfect commute bike on HW or city, it's also a great machine you can take to chase the canyon! I learned SO MUCH on it as my 1st beginner bike! Late down the road I moded my bike pushing 90hp at wheel, then took it to the track and sure it did not disappoint me at all. The only downside of this bike is that it came out right before COVID hit, so most accessories factory were shut down due to the lockdown. There aren't a lot of after market parts for this specific bike yet...
@@mistahozzy I started on 650. I had no prior motorcycle experience. I am 6 foot and around 200 lb. The bike taught me everything I needed to learn. Took it to the track and expanded from there. In my opinion, it was my best starting bike. It was better than ninja 650 bc of it's seating position is more aggressive.
I would pick the CBR650R every day. It’s a better looking, faster, more comfortable bike. Just my thing. I love it as much as Spite’s t-shirt. Where did he get it?
I would disagree I think the Yamaha looks way better and all the Hondas like just look the same I feel like but for the price and comfort I would consider the Honda plus it's faster
@@Mr_N0_0ne what do you mean they look the same? All the yamaha‘s look almost identical. Most people who just started getting into bikes would not see the difference between the r6-r7 and the r1
As a 650R owner, I would def say that gettin a full exhaust sys and a tune really wakes the bike up. Gets better mid-range power and even better at high rpms
sounds good, im a CB650R owner and looking into getting the full akra and and the ECU tuned it for it, but pricey tho. Can you tell me about the improvements vs stock map ? I do feel the throttle is a bit ON/OFF, although not as bad as other bikes, but still no where near as smooth as my old CB500 etc.
Should I do a tune in mine bro? I have a 22 cbr and I really wanna put a exhaust on it. But I don't know if I should tune it, does it make really any difference?
Should never even mention exhaust sounds when one bike has a full system and the other is on stock. Any full decat non restricted systems on the cbr650r makes the r7 sound like a child's toy.
Bought the 2022 cbr650r about 4 weeks ago. Absolutely love it. I’m 6,1 and about 230 pound. It is perfect. I keep up with the bigger bikes and feels great on the highway, twisties and everyday commute. Highly recommend for anyone
@@rileylofin7653 after a year of ownership, and over 9,000 miles ridden, one metal plate in my forearm, and a many miles and hours of research and interactions i will never give up my 650r EVER lol. Its more comfortable than the other 2 and has a higher top out. For the riding i do its perfect. Light, fast, agile and aggressive. Go with the honda, all day!
I have a 2023 Honda CBR 650R and i cant stop riding it i be taking the long routes just to enjoy more and more of it cant go wrong with this motorcycle such amazing engineering they developed with this motorcycle 😎😁

I’ve been watching YammieNoob videos for years and you are one of my biggest inspirations! I’m 22 now and have been fortunate enough to have ridden so many different bikes and met so many great people, so thank you Yammie! In Oct this year I was t-boned by a distracted driver while on my FZ8. I plan on riding again asap once I’m recovered. Your motovlogs are helping me stay strong right now, reminding me what I have to look forward to. I even started motovlogging myself before the accident and can’t wait to make new videos when I can afford a new bike. I wish I had an entry in for that R7 cause I would love to have a Yamaha waiting for me.
One of the newer bikes that honda got right was the cbr650f back when it debuted, but it wasnt sporty enough for many so when honda replaced the 650f with the 650r they hit a bullseye all around by keeping the inline4, slightly dropping the grip height, and giving it that aggressive "CBR" look and feel. It does weigh quite a bit but when your on the highway or fighting wind, it actually helps. VFRs are too heavy for the amount of ponies they have (i dont count that 1200) but the cbr650r was spot on for a wide range of riders.. that r7 is like the bike you get when you want to begin riding at a track but dont want to ride a 300, its not really a "do-it-all" bike
I actually really appreciated this video not just for the detail such as comparison by two riders of different heights, but for the well made distinction between who each bike would be for. Nice work chaps!
I think even if you pulled out a clapped CBR600F4i it would be a solid contender Vs the R7 or CBR650R. It's in between those two in terms of weight, has much more power and similar torque and top tier build quality, the ability to actually carry some luggage/a passenger and a centre stand for easy chain maintenance.
There is NO COMPARO between the CBR and R7.....The R7 is a Yamaha blue-light parts bin special ....a shite parallel twin, and the CBR is NOT !!! So what if it wheelies, my 500 single wheelies too. The Honda is the superior road going sport bike...want more pep, change the sprockets. But then again, for about $5-6K LESS, buy a nice low miles USED Daytona 955....
@@carlmayer691 What's wrong with twins? They can make good street performance for a far, far lower cost of production compared to a 4 cyl. In most cases, there's just no need to use a more expensive 4 cylinder to hit the hp/torque target for a street bike
@@justinpapin6397 I'm not a fan of the cbr650r myself, but 650 parallel twins are just anemic. They have a linear powerband that dies down quick and vibrates. I'd take the sv650 over the cbr650r or R7 if I was forced to pick a 650, but I'd rather get a 750-900 triple/i4 in that price range.
I own a 2018 cb650f, unless I am totally wrong the engines are the same in a different bike package, Akrapovic full system, KN filter, PCV programmer and down 1 tooth on the front sprocket. Bike is stupid fun in this configuration with plenty of power and the exhaust note is gorgeous.
As a new rider on an 05 FZ6 there are a lot of similarities to the CBR650R, partial fairing, inline 4 that's not as powerful as a 600SS, upright riding position, and at the upper limits of something justifiable for a beginner.
As a Honda Fanboy, and owner; this was a relatively objective and fair comparison. I would still take the CBR 600RR or 650R over the R7 but they're all awesome machines. Well Done!
The Honda does what they like to do,which is make their machine more friendly to more people, more dual purpose, this thing seems to me like a great upright naked bike with a fairing, and the ability to get with the program when you are so inclined,I would agree that it needs some lower gears and that would be a whole new animal.
Great vid, also Honda told that they built this bike heavier than the rest to be steadier. Even tho it is a “sport” bike and has cbr in its name its principal aim is the daily use on street
Honda usually hits the mark. I hope all you guys love it. It wd be my choice over a more high strung purebred like r6. Comfortable and beautiful. Plenty of fun. Enjoy & stay safe!
I have a 2020 ninja 1000sx and I love it it’s super comfortable you should definitely try to make a video on that bike not a lot of people know about them Love the videos
As a everyday commute bike the CBR650R wins hands down, with traction control and ABS, etc. and a perfect beginner's bike. The R7 is too edgy in my opinion
I'd take a 4-cylinder over a 2-cylinder any day of the week, and I have a single, a twin, and a 4, so I have some experience. The Aprillia can be problematic from a dealer/service/parts standpoint. YMMV.
Had the mt07 as my first bike ( which is basically the same as r7 in many ways) Testdrove the cb650r just for fun. After 5 secs i was sold! The 4cyl is amazing in every single way! Also the build quality seems to be way better! Just bought myself a cbr650r. Can’t wait for the snow to melt!!
@@Dave-qq4lh i do yes. But overall you won’t notice the difference imo. As i’ve told my mates: the mt is like a turbodiesel with alot of torque on lower rpm, but you need to gear much often. The cb/cbr is like a petrol engine. You need to rev it up. For me it was the build quality and over all the «looks and feel» that made me buy the cbr.
I just came home from a 800km touring ride on the 650R with SW-motech full set of luggage. As long as you got an exhaust on it (mine has Akrapovic S-H6R14-HEGEHT) you get that deep inline-four burble and grown. It is an amazing versitaile bike. Got the looks of a "mini fireblade", has all the power for public road. Can carry a passanger and is such a nimble bike for solo riding and still capable of doing pretty hard touring while being enjoyable enough to pick for a short cafe ride. Not many bikes can do all that and also provide mad reputation of reliability in the same package. Such a great bike and looks menacing in matte black with silver accents.
I was about to make the same comment Spite did about the gearing. Take advantage of the higher RPM situation to get more practical torque. Sure, you'll have a screaming engine, but plenty of folks like that and won't see it as a negative. It's not like people who ride these really need the potential top speed that would be traded away. If you plan to be going that fast you'd probably buy something else anyway.
I did my A-license on a Honda CB650R, never rode anything bigger than a 50cc 25 years earlier. It was pretty fun, only bad thing was the turning radius and weight was quite top-heavy.
For anyone who still doesn't understand you don't feel torque or horsepower. You feel thrust at the wheel vs weight. That thrust is going to depend on how much hp its making vs gearing. Yes where it makes that thrust is dependant on the torque curve but if its geared to suit thats not a factor. Example you have two bikes of the same weight with a similar torque curve. One revs to 5000rpm and makes 100lb of torque, 50hp with gearing to hit the redline at 50mph. The other revs to 10,000rpm, makes 50lb and 50hp but is still geared for 50mph at redline. The second bike will be at twice the rpm but will have exactly the same feel to the rider. When they say they are missing or feeling the torque what they really mean is where that torque is. This is also why doing top gear roll ons doesn't mean anything. If one bike is only geared for 120mph and the other for 150mph the slower bike will look better than it really is simply because of the gearing difference.
If you wanna ride a CBR650R like a hooligan, you can; all you need to do is scream it out to the red line in every gear and don't let it drop below 6000-7000 revs. Its that easy and a lot of fun (which is not what happens in most of your videos) with the added bonus of that screaming inline 4 cylinder engine noise. I've ridden the RS660 and I learnt to ride on an MT07 and they are great bikes that just make there power in a different way and require a different (some might say lazy 🤔) riding style.
22:00 well, there ya go Spite being on R7 evens out the weight difference between the bikes and it all comes down to torque delivery & bhp Turns out, you really aren't missing out on a lot with CBR650R's bottom end. Drop a gear & it's a rocketship Ps: if the same rider is to choose between the 2 bikes, ofcourse the weight would make a difference. How big of a difference? Well, rider+bike weight difference between both of these is 7-8%, so the difference in acceleration between both bikes won't be that drastically affected. However, CBR would certainly feel less nimble
@@Lukas-jm7cx did you forget to read "drop a gear and it's a rocketship." It merely takes less than half a second... that is, unless you are a complete noob The situation you describe is exactly the situation that gears are for, FFS! If you love to lug the engine, then just buy an FTR or a Harley.
@@Lukas-jm7cx however, if you were talking about middle of the CBD (downtown) during rush hour, you cannot drop below the 1st gear, but that's also the situation where TAME low end would come in handy Therefore, on most motorcycles, there's not much use of low-end tow-truck-like torque other than the bragging rights.
I agree with lot of stuff Yammie and Spite were saying about CBR as a CBR owner. However, that does not mean that you will be the slowest guy on the canyon road though. It is a heavy bike for its class but once you get up to speed, it leans pretty well and corners wonderfully. I've ridden RS660 so I agree that it does a lot of stuff better but at the same time I'm pretty confident that I can keep up with either R7 or RS660 on the canyon road with no issue. Just keep your RPM above 7k, look ahead, try not to focus on the rider in front of you too much and follow your line. Oh and understand the fact that it is not a super sport. I usually turn TC off when I ride on twisty road because it is a bit intrusive than I like but it comes back online if the bike detects a lot of slip at the rear wheel. I found out about that on my last ride lol. It is a pretty sweet bike for the street and also capable of chasing a lot of faster bike if you are skilled enough. I'm thinking about taking my CBR to the track soon, just to see how it does against better bikes.
What you talked about at around 10-11 min is the same reason I got a CB650R as my first bike. Yea it has a lot of power, but it is in the high revs so it cant really "surprise" me the way a bike with lots of down low torque can. I then also have room to grow into the power as I gain experience
same, i got it as my first bike aswell, but since the power is all high in the revs its easy to manage and its a lot less nervous lower in the revs then the R7
I also purchased my 2019 Honda CB650R as my first bike and boy let me tell you, it’s such a NICE bike. Like, everytime I get on the saddle I always think to myself what a composed, solid motorcycle it is. Like y’all mentioned, if I want the higher power, just rev it up; if not, I’ll stay between 5k-7.5k. Just reached 7,020 miles as of this morning (purchased in Oct 2020).
Since i sen the cbr650r IV been a huge fan, beautiful bike! Also I was a bit indecisive about the R7., but after recently renting one for a few days... AHH my god I am in love with the R7. still love the CBR650 but I just mean I was pleasantly surprised by the R7! Rides beautifully, torque any time you need it on the streets , sounds amazing, gets alot of stares and compliments., felt like a baby R1. I love what the motorbike industry has been doing lately, these are a great class of bikes 🙌
@@mrtree1368 We CAN compare what equipment we are getting for similar money; and can therefore guess with fair certainty that Yamaha makes more money per R7 sold than per MT07. That Honda makes more money per CBR650R sold than Kawi does per ZX6R. (In the US at MSRP pricing) As for who is actually cross shopping what, I agree with you they are very different bikes and don't exactly compare.
In terms of value for money, the kawasaki blows all these bikes out of the water (including the rs660) For barely 1k more than the R7 you get an aluminium frame, premium brakes, premium suspension, and TWICE the power. Seriously, a 636 makes any of these bikes feel like a 300.
Its cool but you both know riding skills are going to make more of the difference between these 2 bikes than anything. A fast guy will be fast on either of the 2. For the beginner, honda is perfect. Mostly because new riders arent even sure they like track days enough to get a more focused R7.
Despite all the critics, the Yamaha R7 would be a better inexpensive purchase, but since it’s so underpowered Honda is the smart choice for specific type of riders. A twin should never be on top of a four cylinder in terms of power, sounds and performance, unless your name is KTM or Ducati. That said, I wouldn’t be surprised if the R7 would be the crowd’s favorite over the heavy and costly Honda lol 😆
The best motorcycles are 300-400hp/ton (combined rider and bike wet weight) with 3 or fewer cylinders. To translate that to bike examples, an RS660, Street Triple, MT09, KTM 690-890, etc. CBR650R counts, too, with a light enough rider. I think you guys should try a 49, 51, or even a 53-tooth sprocket on the back of the 650R, but also pick up a 17-tooth front so you can switch it back to something close to stock gearing with just 1 change and a chain length adjustment. A 17/47 will be the closest to stock, but as you said, even stock isn't perky enough, so yeah. But having a "slightly improved stock equivalent" with a 17 front will mean a REALLY punchy setup with the 15-tooth front. This is how I have my Vstrom 650 set up. 51-tooth rear, stock 15-tooth front, and I can get it back to exactly stock by simply changing the front to 17-tooth. Funny enough, the 51-tooth rear even clears the stock chain guard!
@@peterdj4573 I don't really blame them. I mean they didn't even trademark the name until early this year so they're probably not that far in the development process
They still sell the cbr600rr in 2021. It's the same bike from 2013 but it's still a great bike. Japan got a redesigned cbr600rr for 2021 with a new dash and electronics as well as a facelift
My neighbour has a 2020 CBR650R and was very underwhelmed with its performance as his previous bike was a CBR600RR so he got his dealership to put in a front sprocket with one tooth less, I've ridden the bike before and after he changed the sprocket and the difference defies belief , it's now a really peppy little bike with attitude that now wheelies in 1st and 2nd.
I would do another video with the CBR650R on the track against an R7 comparison. I bet you, with the torque band on the CBR, the CBR would edge out the compition. Ofc, using racing tires, not the stock ones. The CBR seems to have a low barrier to entry but high skill ceiling. The R7 seems to have a high barrier of entry but a lower ceiling of mastery.
@@papasmurf205 Yeah i wanted the cbr600rr but i have to pay fucking 1907 dollars per year for the plates compared to 700 dollars so i will go with the cbr650r I think
I have the 2020 650R. Peel off the striped sticker and it looks clean as hell as a pure red bike. I use the 650R for work commute. Initially, I was gonna sell it within the year and pick up a 1000RR but after using it for a good year, I think I will be owning 2 bikes in the future. One for track and one for work.
Did you end up getting a fire blade? I am in between buying one of these two and I don't know what to get. I'm worried about the fireblade being wasted in the city. Like no shifting, not a lot of throttle etc.
I haven’t ridden the r7 but having ridden the cbr650 I can say one thing. If you want to be a twisty hooligan I wouldn’t pick the 650. You can actively feel the frame flex mid corner when you’ve got it laid over
Yeah. The honda probably ends up winning with equal riders, but spite never does any bike justice in acceleration tests. It's not just weight either. He doesn't open the throttle wide open. The r7 doesn't have any nanny aids so he was scared he might loop it.
The 650R is actually cheaper than the R7 brand new in Australia so of course the Honda was an easy choice for me. But admittedly, as a bigger guy, I loved both rides during testing the two
Hey guys great video 😁 I've not long passed my test over here in the UK and for my first main bike, I've ordered the cbr650r in black, I'll be using it for more commuting in all weather and abit of weekend fun. Can't wait to get on it :)

The abs on my cbr650r as my first bike has definitely saved my life at one stage when I used abs to it's full potential I do believe without it I would have locked up and lost the front end
Seriously considering a cbr650r. Haven't ridden for awhile, I'm 64 now but in really good physical shape. I've owned a 1975 honda cb 750 super sport, a 1976 kawasaki kz900, and a 1980 yamaha xs 1100. Looking forward to hitting a dealership soon for at least a look see.
You guys are low key smart ngl. Your chemistry is beautiful and makes me miss my best friends in life that I haven't seen in 8 years. Can I get on this show, I want my first bike to be an H2R made to look like Kaneda's bike.
Honda finally got smart and put some of the power back into that engine. Man, those are some long-ass peg feelers on that Honda. Lacking ground clearance, or pegs higher than that need to be? I always wonder that when I see really long feelers like that on a bike.
Honda makes great bikes and cars, and, it’s been my experience that Yamaha likes to throw together stuff to play catch-up and not put the QUALITY into the bike. My knees would be suffering on that yammy too cuz I’m old lol
Kinda looks like Yamaha spends more for higher quality components and adjustablity, while honda spends more on fit and finish and comfort. It's pretty amazing that with differing philosophies they end up with pretty similar machines.
Can you make a video on the equipment/setup you use to record this audio/video of both riders while talking on intercom like you are doing in this video. Love your content BTW
I think one thing I didn't hear much was that the CBR would make a great small sport touring motorcycle. One for those that like the older style like Connie 1400 or FJR 1300 but don't want something as big for everyday around town riding. I think they hinted at it with the VFR comment though. I do agree that Honda isn't meaning for this CBR to be a track day or canyon carving machine. More of a good all around bike with sporty looks and one you can put some high mile days on without feeling wrecked at the end of the day.
12:00 personally i agree with yam here. In city riding having more torque low down is a lot more fun and practical. Having to squeeze the power of the gears on the cbr is kinda pointless since when power finally kicks in you are already on the speed limit. Not that most of you riders would care lol...

Facts... at speed the extra weight is a feature and offers a master class in high-speed stability.
The build quality of the Honda is second to none. The R7 is a young man’s R1 whereas the CBR650R is its own bike in its own class

Just wanted to know how does it perform on highways with 120 km/ hr ++ speed in windy situations?
Because I had been thinking to get Mt07 but the wind blast is off putting. I do commute to work but also ride on highways at high speed and sometimes to the mountain curvy roads.
Those CBR650R are one of the most beautiful bikes currently available, I LOVE the visible manifold up front also. That along with that red paint job. For here in Ireland you really don't need any bigger of a bike
Same here for Mizoram, its Just the perfect power for our roads
I didn't notice the manifold peek until you mentioned it... lewd.
Nah CBR650F is the better looking, the the 650R just looks odd, especially the ass, literally from the CB650R and they didnt even bother hiding it.
Even here in Germany you don't need a bigger bike
If you compare it to the CBR650F, this R one just looks terrible, especially the rear cowl.

Is it safe for a beginner
@@mistahozzy I started on 650. I had no prior motorcycle experience. I am 6 foot and around 200 lb. The bike taught me everything I needed to learn. Took it to the track and expanded from there. In my opinion, it was my best starting bike. It was better than ninja 650 bc of it's seating position is more aggressive.

Would love to see that! Or even an early 98-02 zx6r!
CBR650R vs. CBR600F4i vs. ZX6E vs. YZF600 would be a VERY interesting comparo imo, seeing as it seems they all fit a very similar design brief.
I was really waiting for this video, thanks yammie for doing this!
FINALLY THE VIDEO I'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR!! Not enough people talk about the 2019+ 650r, it's a wonderful bike for what it was made to be.
Well Done!
yep 600cc all day
CB600F/CBR600F is the best choice in between.
It sounds like the R7 has the wrong gearing and powerband for the track and the wrong ergonomics for the street. I'd take the Honda.
Just bought this bike brand new cash and I love it. Felt good buying it and loving it. The E clutch is INSANE
do you feel as though you are using the high geared high revving engine as it should be?? i live in urban areas and tryna decide between the two
@ r7 is weaker. R7 has like 64HP and the cbr650r has 95. I don’t use the e clutch anymore unless I’m just cruising.
There’s a lot to be said for comfy cruising. I’d really be interested in the Honda I do believe.

YMMV.
Yeah me too it's werid though that the mt 07 engine has come out on top for reliability if I remember correctly from fortnines T7 video
When it comes to valve adjustment and the cost of the job I can see less cylinders possible being a plus
Had the mt07 as my first bike ( which is basically the same as r7 in many ways)
Testdrove the cb650r just for fun. After 5 secs i was sold! The 4cyl is amazing in every single way!

7:36 Suddenly a GTR pops up and makes my day. Nice comparison video though 👍
22:00 well, there ya go
Spite being on R7 evens out the weight difference between the bikes and it all comes down to torque delivery & bhp
Turns out, you really aren't missing out on a lot with CBR650R's bottom end.
Drop a gear & it's a rocketship
Ps:
if the same rider is to choose between the 2 bikes, ofcourse the weight would make a difference.
How big of a difference? Well, rider+bike weight difference between both of these is 7-8%, so the difference in acceleration between both bikes won't be that drastically affected. However, CBR would certainly feel less nimble
Ps spite doesn't open the throttle all the way ever.
you call starting at 46mph/74km/h in 2nd gear! low end? Would be a completly different story if they went for a 30mph 3rd gear launch.
@@Lukas-jm7cx did you forget to read "drop a gear and it's a rocketship." It merely takes less than half a second... that is, unless you are a complete noob
The situation you describe is exactly the situation that gears are for, FFS!
If you love to lug the engine, then just buy an FTR or a Harley.
@@Lukas-jm7cx however, if you were talking about middle of the CBD (downtown) during rush hour, you cannot drop below the 1st gear, but that's also the situation where TAME low end would come in handy
Therefore, on most motorcycles, there's not much use of low-end tow-truck-like torque other than the bragging rights.
As a Honda fan boy, I had (and traded it in) a 2020 CB650R that was as smooth as my 2021 Goldwing DCT. It’s an amazing bike.

Same here, just so good... Before I purchase the cbr, I sit on both cbr and ninja and I know I belong to the cbr😂 I somehow don't like the ninja 650.

Do you still have it?
I also purchased my 2019 Honda CB650R as my first bike and boy let me tell you, it’s such a NICE bike. Like, everytime I get on the saddle I always think to myself what a composed, solid motorcycle it is. @@thomassarigiannis Current MSRP for ZX6R is $10,199.
In terms of value for money, the kawasaki blows all these bikes out of the water (including the rs660)
For barely 1k more than the R7 you get an aluminium frame, premium brakes, premium suspension, and TWICE the power.
That Honda has always appealed to me - I still intend on test riding it one day.
13:03 - "it's kind of a wet and crummy day out here" - try riding in England - I've never seen a road that dry lol
FINALLY...My predictions were 90% correct on this...Thanx for awesome vid boys
The R9 will be the Yamaha to get, with the horsepower of the R6 but with more torque it will settle nicely between the R7 and the R1.

the gentlemanly dad bike is exactly what im after, i love my 650R. sporty, but still a suit and tie kinda date.

Keep the stickers on, removing is a terrible idea
Did you end up getting a fire blade? I am in between buying one of these two and I don't know what to get. I'm worried about the fireblade being wasted in the city. Like no shifting, not a lot of throttle etc.
I haven’t ridden the r7 but having ridden the cbr650 I can say one thing.
If you want to be a twisty hooligan I wouldn’t pick the 650. You can actively feel the frame flex mid corner when you’ve got it laid over
What would you get then?
When the "Go" button is pushed on these two bikes, the R7 gets a good view of the Honda rear .
Haha 😂 so true
But admittedly, as a bigger guy, I loved both rides during testing the two
It reminds me of the fz6, very similar in power. 90 hp is about perfect for the street
I own a FZ6 and was thinking the same thing, but it's newer and I think has a little better fit and finish then mine.

You guys are low key smart ngl. Your chemistry is beautiful and makes me miss my best friends in life that I haven't seen in 8 years. Can I get on this show, I want my first bike to be an H2R made to look like Kaneda's bike.
Just change the exhaust on 650, and you know which is ths best bike then ,, never choose twin cylinder over 4 cylinder.
Truer words have never been spoken
I love how the honda sounds Idk why I just high pitch noise, it sounds good without bothering everyone behind you
Honda's legacy, engine refinement and balance of power and mileage is unbeatable.
Good to see Spite at 6ft 4 on the bike and hearing his comments . I am the same height . Thanks
Since you guys crushed it on the R7 vs CBR650R. What about a direct compare between CBR650R vs RS660?
A friend has it, I tried it on really twisty mountain roads and liked it a lot. It rides great.
Honda finally got smart and put some of the power back into that engine. Man, those are some long-ass peg feelers on that Honda. Lacking ground clearance, or pegs higher than that need to be? I always wonder that when I see really long feelers like that on a bike.
you guys are so spot on with your content choice.
Best time to buy the CBR was right before the pandemic when dealers couldn’t even give these away.
I've been waiting on this video for so long!!!
Can track or canyon carve with 650R no problem.
Yesss I've been waiting for the CBR to show up on the channel!! 🤩
Omg the video that i requested!!!!
been WAITING for you guys to mention the cbr650r
12:00 personally i agree with yam here. In city riding having more torque low down is a lot more fun and practical.
Having to squeeze the power of the gears on the cbr is kinda pointless since when power finally kicks in you are already on the speed limit. Not that most of you riders would care lol...
