    Honda really gets the sport bike lines right. The smooth seat style is so much better than the dropped seats of the other bikes.

    I've had one of these 21 CBR650R's for about a month now, mine is A2 restricted but I've been consistently blown away everytime I take it out for a ride, I can back all the credit you are giving the suspension it does a great job and really does help boost rider confidence. Anyone watching this that may be considering purchasing one of these gems, DO IT! I gurantee you won't regret it. I can't wait to get the restrictor out next year to fully benefit from everything this bike has to offer but even restricted it's still an absolute joy with plenty of poke. Thank you, great review!

      How much is the fuel consumption when your bike is 35kw for change instructions engine? As I know in normal which is 70kw power fuel consumption is 20.4km/L ?
      I want to know if I change that for 2 year can affect to reduce fuel consumption or no

      @@playergame7600 I get around (5.5 litres) per (100 km) =
      18.1818182 km per litre with or without the restriction. If you want low fuel conumption you should look for a 1 or 2 cylinder bike like the ninja 650. Or you can install a power commander and programm it for less fuel conumption or even to take lower octane at the cost of power

      Why bother with a restrictor kit?😂 Your not ever gonna get pulled by a cop looking for it. And if you get into a crash you can tell your insurance it was on there. They can't prove that, plus they give you a few weeks. Not sure why so many of you actually get these kits? It's a money grab and ain't nobody checking to see if you have it on.

      I have a 2020 CB650R and it was also LAMS restricted. I flashed it using a PowerGate 3 ECU flasher from DynoBike down in Melbourne. $950 for the kit and it included the OEM intake snorkels. The difference is insane, only when you ride a full power model you notice just how much the restrictions hold it back. Highly recommend it if you aren’t on P’s anymore.

  • @aria0135
    @aria0135 3 роки тому +13

    Honda being stubborn with the 4 cyl might actually pay-off now.
    With the 600cc class pretty much dead, this is the only middleweight 4-cyl bike you can get. It doesn't have the 600s top end but with the trade-off of being *actually* street-rideable. And with the competition being some flavor of parallel twin, the engine makes the bike stand out.
    Yeah, it doesn't have the low-end grunt of the p-twins and is on the heavier side, but with some buyers, the 4cyl sound alone still has that *dream bike* connotation, especially in countries where the bigger bikes (400cc and up) are a rarity. The 4cyl makes it an achievable aspirational bike.

    Got mine today! Coming from a ninja 400.
    I love it !!
    Dan is right it is a more sporty position.
    I'm 5'10 and 158lbs and I fit perfectly.
    I hate the levers......clutch is just ok. Front brake needs adjustment. Its not adjustable in position like after market ones. The wheel on the lever is for the firmness of the front brake....(??)
    Feels smooth and comfortable but the rear shock is still on the 2nd position of adjusting so very soft.
    The mirrors are....antiques......no clic in position for it either. And they vibrate a bit too.....may make some type of rubber washer like I had on the ninja.
    5500rpm vibrates a bit. You feel it in the tank.
    Maybe heavier bar ends will absorb a bit more from the front...?
    It did on the buzzy ninja 400.
    So far first day of ride it's a blast. Power everywhere and whenever. I dint think I'll ever need more actually.
    If you're a mature rider with previous bikes its the perfect one for touring and sports.
    The RS660 will be more sports plus touring, if you still hesitated😉

    The Dunlop D214's are just OK. They never gave me tonnes of confidence but when you get them hot they do stick. The issues come when you hit something slippery in the wet. I slid a few times on tar snakes in the wet and once I slid out the front for a moment in the dry because I was already at lean and someone almost pulled out in front of me at a roundabout, so I braked and the front slid. Never dropped it but gave me a little fright. Now I have Metzeler Roadtec 02's and the difference is stark. They just feel way more planted and stuck to the road. So yeah, the D214's are OK but not great.

When I took it back to the dealership for the 1st service I got a NC750x DCT as a replacement till mine was done, basically I spent around 7 hours on the NC, and I'm going to be honest with you, I felt so much better on the NC. I have then decided to change the CB650 for the NC, and I don't regret it. For my height, the NC was a much better choice. Hope you make the right choice too, ride safe.

    Most people ride on the road and most people are not Marc Márquez. Most people therefore will be able to wring almost every last drop of performance out of this bike on the twisties. It's a totally realistic good value purchase.
    Litre-plus sport bikes are *absolutely fantastic* if you have deep pockets and you like going on the track each week and you travel every month to Germany to ride the unrestricted autobahns cos then you can exploit their genuine 190 mph/300 kph potential on a regular basis and get the best value out of your purchase.

    Nice review. The softer front suspension sounds more comfortable on the '21 CBR650R. I also like the new licence plate holder which isn't on my 2020 CBR650R. It is unfortunate the max torque is no longer at 8,000 rpm. Sounds like from the higher revs to get the same torque bottom torque range has also gone from 3,500 to 5,000 rpms. In future thought I would not mind adding this one to the shed & have the 2020 & 2021 models because of the differences if I saved up for the new one. Has the gearing changed? Mine does around 5,000 rpms in 6th gear at 110 km/h on the highway.

    I had the predecessor to this bike the cbr650f. It sold alongside the cbr600rr. I think brand new it was just a shade over £6k. This new bike for what it is, is too over priced for basically the same bike. For a little bit more a kawasaki 636 would be my choice. This bike is good for a first big bike as it is quite forgiving, very linear and smooth. This should not be seen as a cbr 600rr replacement but as an everyday easy to handle machine in race attire. I do miss my cbr 650 and sometimes consider getting this new model. The price keeps me away though, it seems to be marketed as supersport bike when it isn't. Lovely bike none the less.

    Fantastic review, thank you. Two questions about the front suspension. 1. You talk a lot about the improved forks. Mostly from the point of comfort (as I understood you anyway), not too much about the suspension performance when riding more aggressively. Is the bike now also better suited for track style riding? Or does the improved comfort come at the loss of some more aggressive performance? 2. You mention that the new front forks are NON Adjustable. I certainly don't see any adjustment screws in any of the photos or videos. However other reviewers are saying they are adjustable (fully adjustable). Also the Honda Web site (USA site anyway) says They ARE fully adjustable. Here is a copy/paste from the specs sheet. "Showa Separate Function Front Fork Big Piston unit (SFF-BP). It offers both reduced weight, superior rigidity, and excellent overall performance. Plus it offers adjustability for spring preload as well as rebound and compression damping." Do you know anything further? Thank you again.

    • @Englishbikerdan
      @Englishbikerdan  3 роки тому +1

      It's certainly better at road riding than the previous one. For track stuff I'd need to ride in those conditions to really figure that out, but I think better damping leads to a more settled bike in any conditions, so in my mind it would be better. Definitely non-adjustable suspension on all the units I've tested and seen here. Unless the US gets different forks but I can't see why they'd do that. Thanks!
