Oh man!! :D My sincerest grattitude, mucho mucho thanks for that! Props to your knowledge Peace and love your ways friend! What an O.S.T: life has... you just digged up some gold for me. Thank you, really, wirklich! Hans Peter Dürr ... something I need to translate into english... maybe Rap.
This is beautiful. Wish i had know it earlier, but hey, never to late.Thank you Melanie. Thank you Phonix for putting this amazing voice in a Wu-Tang remix.
Rest in peace sweet sweet Melanie. I have loved you since 1970 when I wore out a cassette tape of your 'Candles In The Rain' album by playing it a thousand times or more.
I came here because I knew this song, but I came here because I was just dumped and this song has always resonated with me. Thanks for these deep lyrics and this gem of a song
the first time I listened to this song as a toddler, my mother played it to me. loved it from the first time I heard it. every time I listen to this song, I get shivers and tears in my eyes...for me, the most beautiful song ever written, and it is unlikely that no one, except Melanie, will sing it better. It is a great pity that Melanie's music, for most young people, is not known :(
I first heard Melanie in late 1968 or 1969 and i have been in love with her since!! Makes me smile big time that your mom would have played this for you! Always good for me to make contact with someone who loves her as much as I do❤❤
I found her from the Wu/Phonics remix of “back in the game” & her voice was so hauntingly good that I went to WhoSampledWho & found her … my God this song is so poignant I want it played at my burial. I think Lana could do a serviceable cover as her 2010 style was echoing Melanie’s vibe a bit, but even the great Lizzy Grant couldn’t paint this song better than Melanie did … it was more than just another song for her- she poured HER SOUL into this- it shows🙌🏻
Never heard of Wu-Tang I have been recording some old Melanie faves on to MP3 . Coming across a lot of songs I never heard before . This woman is a great talent ,she deserves so much more recognition . She has so many beautiful songs ,such as this song . Awsome . Great talent . Beautiful voice . ❤❤😂😂 Sydney Australia 🌏🦘 8/9/2023
I saw Melanie in 1972 at the Mosque in Richmond, VA. I was in college at the time and I just fell in love with her music. I still listen to her album, Gather Me, from time-to-time. RIP beautiful lady.
My bestie in high school - her dad used to play us Melanie. Wu-Tang next levels this, but, Melanie- like what a soul 🤍 She still believes in magic and the heart 💜💗🎶
thank you for this, made my day!! I have loved Melanie since the 1960's and it really makes my heart happy that you know who she is! I am thankful your besties dad was there to share her with you two. Thank you for your wonderful words❤❤🎶
Wow, what a blast from the past. I'd completely forgotten about this song but now I remember this again. I think I was 16 when I first heard it and learning to play guitar like Melanie. I wanted to BE Melanie I think... while tuning my guitar, another great song. 🥰
@@Rowenth I have probably played this a thousand times. It moves me intensely. It says so much with a pretty simple lyric, it's her delivery, it magnifies the meaning..
Yes I blame Ren but there is a story behind it. Sometimes life is really weird and throws you a curve ball. About a week ago on a trans Facebook group someone was asking the difference between first and second puberty and I posted two pictures, one of Melanie and one of Ren and said First puberty crush verses Second puberty crush. Two artists both known by their first names. Than sitting here listening to random music this afternoon up popped something I had no idea existed Do You Believe by Ren with the chorus by Melanie. Mind Blown 🤯
I just say,I Agape sweet Melanie and her sweet Family from God. I think that is the Wisdom of God, the the things accomplished .Melanie you are A Golden vessels of Father God Yahoveh.
What an amazing singer. Such a beautiful vocal. I only found Melanie because of Ren. In diving down the rabbit hole on his music I found Ren- Do you believe where he samples Melanie's corus. It was so captivating that I had to find out more from Melanie. ua-cam.com/video/EGgowW6AOyw/v-deo.html
Shame on me! Cannot believe I was sleeping on this. I enjoy a good track, no matter what genre it is. Thanks Blazed music for opening the door to this great artist for me. Eternally grateful.
Love that woman! There's no one like Melanie...no one! How many artist can sound this great with just a guitar? She's one of a kind, so glad she was in my life.
***** Definitely! I envy myself too :D But I doubt she ever gets old for me, same as many other good musicians I've been listening my whole life! Just needs the right time to listen, good music never gets old ^^
64 now and she never fails to make my spine tingle. Was a fan throughout my long military career which was a bit of an enigma given her anti war stance. Spine tingling now.
Hope you have a different view on war and military now, good sir! Don't take this as an offense, but war is never an answer. Hope you're doing well! =)
Not at all. The military fights for free speech and people who rally against what We ( I was in) do. But, then again that is why we do it it, so they can. I loved my time in. I respect those who serve and served. I respect those who practice the free speech that can be rude to hateful at times. Its all about free speech and so much more.
God bless you for serving your country. My late husband was Air Force 20 years. Went to Vietnam for 2 tours. As a man you do what it takes to defend your country and our rights. You don't ask why, you just do what is asked of you. I am very proud of my Father, Father in Law, Bothers, Husband and myself for our military histories. Service goes way back further in our families. So all that to say, I appreciate you and am happy you made it home and am proud of you. Take care. And I'm 63 and have Loved Melanie since I first heard her sing. She has a amazing talent.
Do you believe it's morning I'm alive but that's the last thing on my mind If our nighttime words mean good-bye Let our morning words be kind Didn't your eyes say you'd never change your mind Didn't my eyes say I do believe your eyes I do believe them, I do believe your eyes I lose vision once in awhile We all got grounded at the start But I still believe in magic It comes from seeing with the heart I do believe it, I do believe my eyes I do believe it, the magic's in our eyes I went to bed at sunrise Now I'll sleep the whole day through My eyes will open to the darkness And in the darkness will be you And in the darkness my only light is you And in the darkness the light is in your eyes I do believe, I do believe your eyes I do, the light is in your eyes Repeat
Melanie’s voice has been immensely important to me over the years. I’ve yet to properly define just how important, but I remain grateful for experiencing for all these years.
Can you imagine nowadays we have multi-million dollar music videos, auto tune voices, audio editing up the ass... yet once upon a time it took real talent to get on stage and make others feel. Older generations had it harder and that will always make them stronger. Respect.
I've listen this for the first time today, can't stop playing it... I got so overwhelmed that I cried! Oh boy, what have I been missing all these years!? Better late than never. I've become an instant fan!
After knowing her and being a fan for more than 40 years, I found this gem that I didn't know. So beautiful. For sure one of her best. I'm again thrilled with this great singer. What a talent; what a lady. Thanks for uploading
I saw here performing this song on the Johnny Carson show. I was so touched by here. The next day I purchase her LP (Stoneground Words) from which this song was on it.
Michael Jacobs Reminded me of a past*relationship. Especially when she says, " I went to bed at sunrise. Now I'll sleep the whole day through. My eyes will open to the darkness. and in the darkness, will be you. And in the darkness, my only light is you."
Wu-Tang Clan brought me here...no joke. Her voice is so powerful it can move mountains. Just wow!
Same Brother. Get so addicted of this song, great great voice powerfull yet so soft.

Great Remix!!!
For those of you just turning on to Melanie... check out her cover of the Rolling Stones song “Ruby Tuesday”.
Her vocals are absolutely chilling. The power behind her voice is out of this world.
the artist REN got me here

mc ren?
And me! She has an amazing voice, can't believe I've never heard her singing before
I adore ren! But I found this years ago through a wu tang remix then maybe 7 years later found RENs remix! Renegades ❣️❣️

Rip baby girl, it's crazy 😢
That voice at 4.42, ethereal, RIP
Used to listen to Melanie for hours on end, on 6 track tape, back in the 1970's. Loved her then. Love her now. Named our first born after her!!
Pretty sure that three year wait was worth every moment 😢
She's so free when she sings . I love this
Magnifique magique ❤❤❤
Mel thank you for this touch of light and darkness. We stand Amen

Wu tang brought me here, mad respects to phonix and Melanie!!!
I came here because of @renmakesmusic
Definitely one of the best live I have ever listen to.. I wish i was born earlier sometimes. What a pure talent...
3 years later the same tears 😅😢❤❤❤❤❤ beautiful song all the way down to the core.
A true original and uplifting and positively idealistic rather than negative as so many are these days…
i am so happy WuTang brought me here! now i can enjoy the rest of her music!
OMG. Love this so much! Thank you, Ren, for making this connection for all of us. What a beautiful souls. Both artists. ❤
I love these acoustic live recordings, so much better than the album versions. Same for Beautiful People.

I could listen to her all day...and frequently do :).
I had this album and this was one of my fave songs.
Do you believe it's morning
I'm alive but that's the last thing on my mind
If our nighttime words mean good-bye
Let our morning words be kind
Didn't your eyes say you'd never change your mind
Didn't my eyes say I do believe your eyes
I do believe them, I do believe your eyes
I lose vision once in awhile
We all got grounded at the start
But I still believe in magic
It comes from seeing with the heart
I do believe it, I do believe my eyes
I do believe it, the magic's in our eyes
I went to bed at sunrise
Now I'll sleep the whole day through
My eyes will open to the darkness
And in the darkness will be you
And in the darkness my only light is you
And in the darkness the light is in your eyes
I do believe, I do believe your eyes
I do, the light is in your eyes
Repeat
Beautiful song and performance.
