Xenoblade Chronicles 2 has to be hands down my favorite in the series, and of course, it has to be the characters. Almost all of the main cast of heroes and villains are compelling in some way. Malos with his existentialism Jin with his pessimistic view on the world after losing Lora Zeke being banished from his kingdom and still trying to help people and of course Rex going from naive optimism to educated optimism is very cool. Of course, Pyra and Mythra, to me, have the best character development, especially if you take torna into consideration. Mythra went from a brash, uncaring blade to a compassionate cautious blade that wanted to learn how to use her power to protect those she loves it's very beautiful.

Xenoblade 2, is a game that is important for me in a lot of ways. Not just cause it was the first one I fully beat, but because the story was just really impactful for me. I was Rex’s age when the game came out and I felt a lot of similar things to Rex in XB2, I loved the party and their dynamics with each other, that will always beat Xenoblade 1 & 3, for me, just that all of these guys feel like real characters that interact with each other in fun and exciting ways. Pyra and Mythra are some of the best written female characters in a game I’ve played (at least one that came out in the last ten years), Torna only elevating them, Nia was always one of my favorites, Tora was like the eccentric best friend that could go onto do amazing thing (play XB3 for context), as well as Zeke and Morag who honestly remind me of my older brother and sister. Even Jin and Malos are awesome villains that I can see a part of myself in now as an adult. There was just a striking level of familiarity with those characters out the gate and it was only elevated by later developments and its vibrant vistas, amazing music, and enjoyable gameplay, even its Gacha system and DLC rollout/content was awesome and blows every other modern game with it out of the water.
Hot take from me; I want Xenoblade 2 to get a remake/remaster in the same vein as XB1. Not because XBX doesn’t deserve one (far from it) but because you could tell the game (XB2) was poorly optimized in places (frame rate and resolution especially) which makes me hope that monolith-soft can give us that remaster treatment as part of some switch 2 upgrade or smth. If they go full remake I hope it goes in the direction of RE2, where it converts the gameplay to a style akin to what we could see in XB4, more of an action RpG like FF7R. It’d be a lot but Xenoblade 2 is still one of my favorite games ever because of what I listed above as well as the community, especially watching Etika play it back in the day, some of the funniest reactions I’ll probably ever see to a game. I just love this game and I hope a lot of you all can see where I’m coming from with this comment.

Ageed and I think the games that are our favorites are the ones that forwhatever reason, happen to hit us at the right place at the right time. Xenoblade 2 def was that for me as well, and I entirely agree, would LOVE to see a Xenoblade 2 definitive edition, there's alot they could improve or tinker with to make the experience much better overall while sanding down some of the rougher edges to it

Xenoblade 3 is my favourite. The themes speak a lot to me as a young adult living on my own, struggling to pay bills.

as a FFXIV and Xenoblade fan, i think that you would appreciate the Trails series by Falcom. there is a massive overlap between these three games in terms of their fandom, and it is easy to see why once you break it down. theyre all long stories that takes place over a long period of time with great music, great characters, deep lore, and attention to detail.

XC 2 just barely edges itself out as my favorite. What elevates it above is the character arc the player undergoes.
I started out pretty lukewarm on this game. Some people hated it. But the tutorials are bad, the combat slow and confusing, and the characters tropish and goofy. But the way that the music, themes, combat, exploration, and understanding of the game's mechanics make the player feel like THEY have grown some for being part of this story.
I also just really like Rex and the concept of Blades, and the final three chapters are an unparalleled climax in the series.

I love Xenoblade Chronicles 1, both because it was my first in the series, and its world and map design. I was floored by the sense of scale, feeling like these tiny people exploring 2 massive titans. I also really enjoyed the map design, the way it was segmented into levels and how you could always understand where you are in relation to the other areas of the map, something I felt was a little lacking in later games.
I hope you devote one of your videos to map design, I feel like it's a subject that deserves to be talked more about in games in general.

I can't tell you which one is my favorite because I love them all for different reasons.
I love X for the exploration (Noctilum is my favorite place out of all 4 games).
I love 2 for the story and emotions. Jin has been my favorite antagonist of all time... that is, until N showed up.
I love 3 for the heartbreaking choises they have to make.
And I love 1 for... well, it has my favorite NPC: Kallian.
I'd probably tend towards 2 after playing the Torna DLC because I fell in love with Mikhail. But I don't want to make a clear decision.

Oh boy, finally I can yap about xenoblade at the request of somebody
Massive wall of text below and also spoilers for xenoblade 3 and future redeemed
Well, my favorite xenoblade is xenoblade 3 because of many things, first of all the gameplay is an evolution of the series, it blends concepts of XC1 and XC2 and with the theme of interlinking it just makes sense, feels like a natural evolution and just fits with the themes of the game
I love the class system, although I'm still a bit salty that they didn't make rex and shulk's classes playable in the base game, but what we got in both the base game and dlc were pretty interesting. I'll be honest, while I liked the system I probably wouldn't want it to return in future entries as I really like that every character is distinct in their own way in terms of gameplay, in this game there weren't any classes that felt "special" because all ouroborus party members could change into any class, even their starting ones, makes sense for this game but takes away some originality... Unless if you are Noah and I've got to give props, they made up for Jin not being a blade in basegame XC2 by making his playstyle into one of Noah's ults
Now, about the story, it's more subjective, but in my opinion, this is the best story out of any xenoblade, it doesn't waste any time making things interesting, since minute 1 you're in the battlefield, which I like to think of it as a callback to the prologue of XC1, it just feels very familiar and I love it, honestly I love these types of intros of just being thrown straight into the action and ask questions later, but yeah, XC3's intro in that regard is faster paced than XC2 and the middle part of chapter 1 is also faster paced compared to XC1 and 2, think argentum/beginnings of gormott and colony 9, in XC3 I feel things just happen faster, which is good
Other than that there were moments I really liked and really stood out to me, like the baby scene in I think it's chapter 3/4, as a guy who since he was a kid wanted to someday have his own family, seeing the party of XC3 find out about babies and interacting for the first time with one, it was really endearing and made me remember why that has always been a goal of my life someday and I just hope someday I can have the same reaction as Taion had seeing that baby for the first time
Of course there's the end of chapter 5 and the beginning of chapter 6, there's so much meat in those 2 moments that I just can't talk about it all, but I really liked seeing the party grow desperate, I don't know why, but I have this kinda sadistic pleasure of seeing fictional characters being pushed to their limits, testing their mental fortitude and we could see that especially with N, Harry McEntire did an amazing job in that scene, it really sells the emotion and despair that N is feeling and while XC1 and sometimes XC2 had amazing screams, especially Adam Howden as Shulk, Harry McEntire really did some amazing ones as Noah and N
For characters, I just like everyone in this cast, xenoblade in general has amazing casts always, but XC3 just feels like a friend group, from the moment that they start their journey as Ouroborus you can see the trust between them grow over time and by the end of the game each and every one of them has their own dynamics with eachother and Noah and Mio's relationship not only is super satisfactory and in a way tragic, because we can see the fruits of their relationship in the ending, but was also super cute and adorable to see developed over the 80+ hours this game has. I really like the special focus that this game put into every single party member, I just wish that especially Senna, but also Lanze to a degree, weren't so forgotten/less developed than the other party members
Finally, future redeemed was just an amazing way to finish the first triology of games and this whole plot point of Klaus, the callbacks, the locations, seeing colony 9 again, seeing familiar faces, some side quests were obvious references to XC1 and XC2, we were able to see Shulk's son and Rex's daughter as well as Zeke and Pandoria's and Sharla and probably definitely Reyn's daughters, just a lot of references that made that whole experience super rewarding if you took the time or followed the journey from the beginning back with XC1
Xenoblade 3 is a celebration of the series and for that and everything else I mentioned above, it's my favorite in the series and I doubt that will ever change, but I'm definitely still super excited for the future, this series is probably my favorite video game series of all time and I can't wait for what it will bring in the future, even if in my eyes it won't be able to topple this game, it will surely be great in its own right, because monolith hasn't missed once so far

(i have not yet finished x and i only loosely know the plot of torna, i haven't played it)
Out of what i've played i'd say Xenoblade 2 is my favorite game in the series. It has the highest highs of the series, but also the lowest lows. It is in my eyes the best game in the series and the worst.
While i could write an essay about everything i like and dislike about the game, such as great characters, great combat, or horrible tutorials, i will instead focus and something Xenoblade as a series loves to do. Xenoblade 2 has excellent forshadowing. Watch any scene with Nia after learning about her past and you will keep finding foreshadowing. While chapter 4 could be criticized for having some of the stupid overbearing overdone anime tropes, it actually handles the hot spring scene really well. It foreshadows about Nia and does it at a time when the players guard about plot is likely down. It subverts expectations about a hot spring scene, instead of being cringy like the mythra sleepwalking scene in the same chapter.
This is definitely somewhat surface level, I don't think i could go into great detail about this typing on a phone. (Keeping track of what I am saying is becoming difficult ) Nonetheless, I think Xenoblade 2's foreshadowing is amazing and probably the best in the series. (Although I suppose 1 has quite a different relationship with foreshadowing making this much harder to judge.)
When ever I play or rewatch Xenoblade 2 I always pick up on other details I missed.

Favorite Xenoblade game is 2. The Xenoblade series on the whole has a high bar of quality through most of the series. But the gameplay loop and characters in Xenoblade 2 resonate with me the most. Most of the main cast in 2 feel complex and interesting. And Rex is probably my favorite MC of the lot. The gameplay loop of 2 is also the most fun when i sit down and look back on all the games. Though i cant really say anything on X since i never played it. But thats a different conversation.

Xenoblade 2 was my 3rd blade game and I can confidently say its my favorite and its not even close.
I was always a fan of the series but it was the story in 2 that just moved me so much.
Xenoblade 2 was so important to me that my hopes for 3 were never going to meet expectation and frankly I was let down with 3.
Im excited for whats next in the franchise but I have to make peace with the fact that the story is likely never going to be as good as it was in 2 again and should just be happy with whatever form the next game takes.
X is my 2nd favorite for different reasons. The world of Mira is fantastic and beyond its time (at least as far as Nintendo games go) Its story is ... well its a mess and you really do feel it. There is SOOOO much left unexplained and we have external sources of information that tell us that Monolith had a number of ideas that was scrapped or never got off the ground. Going back to the ideas in X and flesh them out to a new game or a series of games would be amazing. Just please make Elma the main character, the create a character was a bad idea.

If we get Xenoblade Then I think we'll get something like future connected to end that cliffhanger. Of every game Nintendo game that gets DLC Xenoblade is the biggest one torna the golden country and future redeemed are literally better than the main games. It's technically not 100% confirmed, but every future Xenoblade game is definitely going to get DLC, guaranteed
