I think it is just common sense and should be expected at this point.
You don’t make a massive open world RPG with a cliffhanger ending designed to try to save a dying system and then forget about it when the system dies, especially when the series that the RPG was based on has grown in popularity and the next Nintendo console will come off the back of the most popular console of all time.
Monolith Soft might make a new IP too but X seems destined to be the Xenoblade series that will be made for the Switch 2.
Monolith said they would have to remake X to bring it back and the Switch 2 will allow them to do that and then use the engine of the remake to make Xenoblade X2 to save production costs(just like MPR did for MP4).
I doubt we’ll see Xenoblade 4 anytime soon. Since the story for the Klaus saga is finished, they’d have to come up with something new. Lord knows how long will take.
What I’d like to see personally is a remake/remaster of the Xenosaga trilogy. Giving us something to play until the next Xenoblade installment. But only time will tell.
I think 3 to 4 years, could be in 2026 or 2025

Not only is it stupid to leave X on the Wii U and waste those assets but X can actually be made into a series that can be unique to the Switch 2.
I would love to see a XCX remake for the new console! I haven’t played X before. I do have access to a Wii U and a copy of the game, but since I've heard some of the UI is unrefined, I'm waiting to see if we'll get a Definitive Edition, because I would love to play X!
My favorite is XC2. The Torna dlc was damn good too
If Monolith wanted to sell XC2 remastered for Switch 2 I will buy it.

I think my favorite Xenoblade, plain as it might be, is Xenoblade 1. Naturally, I have a lot of nostalgia for it as someone who owned the Wii version, but that’s not all.
Xenoblade is really clever in weaving together narrative and gameplay. 3 introduces Ouroboros as an inviting incident and plot device, and uses it to justify a class system and Interlinks as a gameplay mechanic. 2 has its world populated by Blades, and resonating with multiple cores is straight up required for field skill checks. (Yay.) X has the crazy mimeosome reveal, and unveils the Overdrive mechanic as a way of pushing your body to its limit (kind of like overclocking a PC). For my money though, Visions are the gimmick that feels most integral to its combat. 2 can be completed just fine with the standard blades without insane gacha rolls and time-heavy character maxing, Interlinking is more trouble than it’s worth more often than not, and nobody knows what the hell Overdrive has going on. But Visions are necessary to save your party from nasty attacks and tricky enemy patterns. Even if the other games were never greenlit, I still would have been happy that we got Xenoblade Chronicles.
No Xeno means Future Xeno for the Switch 2! It's destined to happen!
Disclaimer: writing this before watching the video.
I basically knew, or at least expected, going into the direct that the next Xenoblade, or the whatever the next big thing Monolithsoft is working on, would be a no show simply because I was pretty sure that it's probably going to release on the Switch successor. And, knowing that we were told specifically, several times even, that the direct would focus on Switch titles and that there would be no news about the new console at the direct, we should have all gone into it with low expectations.
Personally, I think that when they unveil the new console, either this fall (October/November) or post-Christmas, is going to be when we get news about whatever their big project is going to be.

I don't think they will continue xenoblade chronicles on the next hardware, they are probably cooking a new IP. But it is probably they will start with a xenoblade chronicles X "definitive edition", because it would be quicker to make to be read at launch and showcase the next hardware, and maybe we can get a epilogue like xenoblade chronicles definitive edition.
Low Key Xenoblade is what Final Fanasty used to be for consoles. It’s an RPG game that becoming a heavy hitter.
Didn't expect it to be there either. Though other stuff wasn't there Either, Monolith soft is already forming new avenues and offices in Japan. Fostering and mentoring new talent. Besides other stuff wasn't their either. Fire Emblem and Kirby. I do suspect Xenoblade X has a shot of coming back.
2010 (JP), 2011 (NA) - Xenoblade Chronicles (Difinitive in 2020)
2015 - Xenoblade Chronicles X
2017 - Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (Torna in 2018)
2022 - Xenoblade Chronicles 3 (Future Redeemed in 2023)
5 years it took from the first game until X, which was really more of its own thing.
7 years thus between 1 and 2.
5 years between 2 and 3.
It's only been 2 years since Xenoblade Chronicles 3 came out. Just a year from the DLC.
It isn't that they're holding out on Xenoblade Chronicles 4 for the Switch 2 (or whatever they call the new system).
THERE HASN'T BEEN ENOUGH TIME TO DEVELOP A NEW GAME!
There was no way they would have announced a new game so quickly.

If they ever port xenoblade X, please give us back the boobah slider AND the Japanese dub.

I think they will make a remake of xeno saga, they just finish the klaws saga and link it to xeno saga but since the games are different in the plot they had to retcon it so that the games make sense like when in X1 DE they make ovious for any player that alvis was onthos by change in his neckless to a core crystal.
With realistic expectations, I'd be glad to see Xeno-anything announced by 2027.
They tend to release xeno games every 3 years or so. So 2025 is very likely
@@OJvdH If something releases next year, it'll definitely be a remaster or port.
I'm counting Future Redeemed as a release, so I'd still lean towards 2026 at the earliest for even that.
If they give us something in 2025, I'm gonna be concerned that they're being rushed again. I love XC2, but it's no secret that a lot of features and optimizations were sacrificed thanks to getting rushed.

Honestly? Its better for these games to have longer productions. Id rather wait a few years than have another series become a yearly series
