For example, the halo-halo. Some just start digging in not knowing that you're supposed to mix everything thoroughly first before eating it 😂 So, bravo guys. By the way, if you try to cook Filipino food, just look for authentic recipe video on UA-cam and if some of the ingredients aren't available in your area, just Google what's the best substitute. Oh, fyi, each Filipino dish has several versions depending on which province it is.

I prefer just vinegar garlic and a little bit of salt for the sauce I think it fits perfectly to the lechon.. Or not have sauce at all cuz the lechon itself has so much flavor
I agree, my first lechon baboy was from street vendor in leyte...just clear vinegar in the bag with maybe a little garlic and onion....best I ever had...no soy or chilli or calamansi … not sure if coconut or rice vinegar but was good
One of the disappointments I have whenever I watch foreigners try food in the Philippines, is when of them is vegan or vegetarian. Sure we have great vegetable dishes, but most of our really great food are meat and seafood dishes. So I always feel like they are missing out on the whole experience. Great video guys.
The Juicy Vlog my uncle is a “suki” or a regular, so he had reserved early, we are in negros occidental so he mentioned avelino’s or juan’s lechon haus, but they are not found in malls. Even in cebu they have lechon stores on streets as well. There are stores where in you can call in and order when you want to pick it up. Too bad you missed the masskara festival in bacolod just last month. They have street dancing and food and light parades...sadly i did not even go😫

Lechon is like pork belly the difference is that lechon is stuffed with herbs and spices and cooked whole outside while pork belly is cooked in an oven

You guys chose the wrong restaurant for lechon. Zubu chon is the worst. You should've went to Cebu original or Rico's OR some other restaurants. Mall food are not as delicious as the other restaurants outside the mall.

I like British people when they speak , they sound always talking about food and whatever they approved it surely taste the best. Not just food but generally they are a good judge for anything.
I don't really consider Zubuchon's lechon as Filipino lechon primarily because of how they treat the skin. That to me is lechon macau. Hopefully you are able to try the real traditional stuff, because the texture of the skin is completely different from what you ate.
Agree, as I mentioned above. Skin texture must be smooth and very thin. I think Bourdain compared it to like biting to a candy, a thin hard caramel (but not the taste) like candy. But super crunchy! Looks good though👍🏼

Balot is an acquired taste. We eat it and we are not grossed out with it because we got used to it. Foreigners will never try it.

You were already in cebu and of all places to eat lechon you go to zubu lechon. Cmon! Thats so commercialized and not the real cebu lechon.
I guess no one suggested them where to get the best of lechon in Cebu. Not their fault.
