My electric bill is high .In order to lower my bill should i just turn it off when not needed OR use the economy leaf.Am i still drawing electricity with the leaf? Are thermostats supposed to run 24 hrs?
When it comes to electrical consumption there is a hand-in-hand act between cost and comfort. As you increase comfort you will increase cost, as you decrease comfort you can save in cost. There are some factors of where you live and what time of year, however while you are gone you can use the eco mode (the leaf). This will reduce your electrical consumption. During the harsh seasons it is never recommended to turn off the systems as it can cause damage to the home in the form of warping drywall or cracks appearing. The system should not be running 24 hours unless in the peak seasons. If it is running all the time check your fan option, it may be set to ON. Auto is default setting.
@@sierracoolsvegas during the harsh season, since its not good to turn it off, should I put it on ECO,or lower the temp. Thanks so much for responding,it helps
Can we setup a schedule that turns OFF (not temp change) our Nest Thermostat every day at 3:55-pm? We have electric time of use requirements in our area, and we need to remember to do this daily. A schedule would make it so much better. Even an automated Google Home routine that does that would also be good. Thanks
Hello, I noticed the thermostat won’t turn on for very long so it gets very cold here before it turns on the heat. So what I want is to avoid the apartment to get too cold and then too hot. How can I fix that?? Can I just replace it for the old one? When I set it to heat at 77 deg, it turn on the heat but the thermostat waits like over an hour to get back on so it gets pretty cold inside since we don’t have good insulation. Thank you.
How do I get the display to light up on approach. I went to settings and it is checked to light up on approach but it doesn't do it. It previously worked and the switch to the furnacer got shut off and when we reset it that feature doesn't work
You will need to ensure that the Nest thermostat is connected to the home's Wi-Fi. Then you will be able to simply use the app to connect remotely. The Nest Thermostat can only be controlled with the Home app. You can also control the Nest Learning Thermostat and Nest Thermostat E with the Home app after you migrate your Nest Account to a Google Account. The Nest app also offers full control and settings for the Nest Learning Thermostat and Nest Thermostat E. Hope that helps!
My nest Thermostat keeps jumping to 50゚ to cool without without touching the thermostat Thermostat keeps jumping to 50゚ to cool without without touching , How can I stop this from happening?Need your help.
Thanks for the explanation man. Yours is the much better one of the 10 videos I watched. But the setup of this equipment is so unconventional it made me pull my hair. You know what I think, I think it is an absolute Bull Shit. My 25 year old thermostat is infinitely simpler to use. So much for technology garbage.
I need your help. I just installed mine today. But when set to cool, its blowing hot air. My original wiring was R,RC > RC Y > Y G > G C > C W > W W2 > W2 I dont know what i do wrong
You would want to go into the SETTINGS, scroll and select RESET, and click SCHEDULE. Depending on the model of Nest you would either select RESET or CLEAR. This would remove any existing programming.
It has taken me weeks to figure out why all of the sudden its 78 degree especially in the heat wave in TX. Because of your video, I have it ready 68 and 72 during the day. Thank you!!!!
How may people get scammed into thinking programing this is difficult as hell. Thanks for posting will be saving this video.

Is it ever a time where it can be turned off? Like spring and fall?
Cooling temp? In the uk we just set the heating temp. What’s cooling temp for ? ...connection to an A/C system?
Yes, that is to connect to your A/C.
I would like to cancel all my settings....I just want total control of the thermostat ....How do I do this....Thank You....
