- In this video we repair a damaged forward clutch drum from a 4l80e transmission. I am really happy with the way this repair worked out.

Again this Saturday morning I sat down with a hot cup of coffee hoping that Steve had released a new video. One did not appear! So again I scrolled down through my subscriptions list until I came to "Steve Summers". Low and behold he did release one. Apparently because 4 weeks or more have gone by without a video, I suspect youtubes algorithms did not push this video release back to the forefront of my recommended videos.

WOOHOO Steve, You never need to apologise for not being here and this is the greatest thing a fella could ever have happen for/to him. Elizabeth as well of course must have her granny shoes on eh. The baby is such a wonderful thing for you all. She is truly lovely. This is one of those "Why Not Try" projects. Rebuild kits w/clutch parts are still fairly priced and available at most auto parts stores. Of course doing them dose involve more specialty plier's etc but that isn't anything new. After all we need to support the new tools stores eh, LOL.One thing about machining standards is they will rarely/never change. .001 thou per inch for press fits. As with clearances a quick look at our Machinists Bible has those numbers for us too. 2 minutes of time to confirm what we know is a good thing to take a moment. We are supposed to be patient fellas/gals eh. It is always nice to see a lathe with no DRO like mine only mine can be run backwards but this one has served you well for sure.It's one of my favorite type of things that a machinist can face. Taking garbage and recovering it into a polished jewel. Thanks a bunch for today Steve. Now it is time to go and hold your grand baby let her sleep or play with her. Either way is super fun eh, LOL. Steve, I understand your worries quite well. We lost our first granddaughter at full term. I was crushed as I was waiting to spoil her (most likely just as you are probably doing now). We have two healthy ladies now and have tried to spoil them, too! But I will never forget the first and like King David she can't come to me but I will go to her. Hope you have a dozen more. Greg

I live in New England so see a bit of plowing over my 50 years in auto repair and towing. Trucks that plow with the owner operating have a lot less problems than ones driven by employees. The younger the employee the more damage
