6:41 I believe the Vanquest may have been less damaged simply because it was tested on a wet surface. Dragging both at the same time, side by side, might have provided a setup that would have made it possible to test them under more similar conditions -- I don't know if that was possible, though. 7:02 Someone has made a test on the Vanquest not too long ago, I think -- I can't find the video right now, but I'll post it as soon as I find it. It was loaded with lead (outside test only) and dragged for a certain distance.
WalterWorld·Vlog I originally wanted to test them side by side, but I had problems with the attachment to the board. Also, I would have needed to create separate rigs so the height difference wouldn't affect each other.
I guess it's one of those "easier said than done" situations :-p Speaking of which, have you ever considered making some behind the scenes (making of) videos? I mean the planning and the preliminary tests, in addition to the bloopers :-D I understand it's extra work, so feel free to disregard my suggestion.
Ian Parry Yes. This test wasn't too scientific. It was meant more for fun. I need to find an isolated track/road that is away from people so I can do more exact conditions.
I don't know how fair the test was, but let me tell you this... the entertainment value was at the highest degree, hahaha. TUB you have been a real inspiration to me, and I very much appreciate all the time and effort you take making your videos and sharing your Agenda with us Urban Preppers. Thank you so much Brother!
CptJohnCougar Thanks! I definitely don't put my personal gear under this amount of stress normally. Under normal conditions, I believe both of these organizers would last 10+ years with no issue. It was fun to do something that would draw attention to prepping locally.
h20fowler2012 Thanks a bunch! Mrs. UP deserves the thanks. She had to put up with the "Just Prepping" window paint and those cans rolling around the back of the car during the week of production.
If you redo the drag test Tactical Temptress or Kid Prepper (more likely) needs to be the designated spotter in case the bag comes off during the test. Easier to find that way. Looking forward to the rest of the tests.
Very interesting test. But for the everyday guy wanting to know the durability of the organizers I would have just done a tumbling test. By putting weight nside each organizer and drag it.
Come on, we already know the winner :D OK, I guess I do have a gear fetish. I'll take big V please, and you can send the Maxi... gear to someone who loves the the brand. Looking forward to the next vid :)
SurvivalTech Nord I enjoy testing these items out in various ways. I suppose I have a testing fetish, even though this particular was more for entertainment than scientific testing.
another great video and testing session as always. quick question though. What was the brand and model number of that knife at the beginning of the video? Sorry if you have said this in another video, Im a new subscriber
Jason Bates Thanks! It's an Enzo Birk 75 Curly Birch. Scandinavian knife, deep pocket carry, business appropriate. I love it. Thanks for subscribing, Jason.
TheUrbanPrepper thanks for the reply! I to am also in the IT field, for work I usually carry the Kershaw Leek in one pocket and a trusty Old timer in the other. Away from work i tend to lean towards a benchmade 710. But i have been in the market for a scandi grind affordable knife other then the Mora's. thanks again for the fast reply. Ohh btw. The Misses has watched a few of Your Misses videos and i think she is back into the "prepper" type of thinking. I tip my hat to you Sir..
TheUrbanPrepper If you would ever consider trading for that Enzo i have a spare benchmade 710 mchenry and williams in black g10. Also I noticed a 2m/440mhz radio in one of your videos, are you a Ham Radio Op? If so awesome. I have been licensed for about 8 years and I love it. Would be happy to share some ideas on a few "ham radio go boxes" I have.. anyways .. let me know.. 73
Jason Bates Wow! That is so cool that you “misses” has been brought back to prepping. That is awesome! BTW, the Kershaw Leek is a great EDC knife. Same with the Old Timer. Sounds like you have a nice setup.
TheUrbanPrepper thanks again for the reply. Wish you would have replied to my other question though. Keep up the great work with the excellent videos and content!!
I do love your videos... However, the water likely lubricated everything and provided less friction on your second test... Also, road surfaces could have been different from the park to the neighborhood.
rgmmfd Yes, lubrication may have assisted. I think the inverted zipper design helped lift the webbing off the concrete surface. On the 2nd test I did reach higher speeds of 20-25 mph. The first test was done more at 10-15 mph due to it being at a park.
Here's the torture test I've mentioned previously. He starts loading the lead bullions at 13:18 and the drag test begins at 16:34. ua-cam.com/video/xAm9jhOwuB4/v-deo.html
TheUrbanPrepper glad you have a sense of humor. I just got a knock off pouch from wish.com that claims it's Cordura but there's no Cordura tag on it. it's functional and looks great. good luck with your channel. unless you still wear that hat...
TheUrbanPrepper Lmfao! Did you succeed? Sounded like you had some admirers talk to ya. Lol. Good vid. Love the "just prepping" with cans and all. Funny stuff. Hate your team tho. ;) go chiefs!
Hey i like the videos from you...but :-) The treatment of both should be the same on the same time in the same condition....Then it would be a good test. Too much tampering...sorry
***** I agree. That was my original intent: test each one in the park using the same distance, route and ground conditions. Unfortunately, I was having paracord problems which delayed production and I don't think the park enjoyed my testing operation. :)
Um...most people keep their organizer in a pocket, pack, or EDC bag. Why on earth would you even want to drag them behind your vehicle? No offense, but I just don't see the sense is this video.

Love how you decorated the car for the test. LOL That was a fun video - looking forward to many more ! You make great videos !
Carol ELek Thanks Carol! It was certainly fun to trick out the car for this video. It sure turned heads throughout the neighborhood.
What a nice way to test organizers. Very individuel and so cool. Love the video thank you for that
CptJohnCougar Thanks! I definitely don't put my personal gear under this amount of stress normally. Under normal conditions, I believe both of these organizers would last 10+ years with no issue. It was fun to do something that would draw attention to prepping locally.
I got the Vanquest for my son to put his diabetes stuff in and he loves it and it looks way cooler then the "medical" bags and way more durable.
I'm excited to start trying out some Vanquest gear. Solid competition for 5.11 and Maxpedition!
Nice done Sir, thx for showing us.
Atb cheers
Mike
This vid took a lot of effort, and I appreciate you sharing.
h20fowler2012 Thanks a bunch! Mrs. UP deserves the thanks. She had to put up with the "Just Prepping" window paint and those cans rolling around the back of the car during the week of production.
Mrs urban prepper is a real trooper!
Canadian Prepper She thinks I'm slightly crazy. :)
TheUrbanPrepper and she is right! :))
TheUrbanPrepper
thinks? We all knew you were nuts when you bashed yourself on the head on the monkey bars :D I love your vids man!
LOL! Not one of my finer moments. :)
If you redo the drag test Tactical Temptress or Kid Prepper (more likely) needs to be the designated spotter in case the bag comes off during the test. Easier to find that way. Looking forward to the rest of the tests.
Holy cow, good stuff man. The connection is now strong enough to drag a zombie.
Well this looked like a lot of fun.
Cool test, thats one way to do it!!!
Great video! Thanks for the testing.
+Roclans Farm Thanks a bunch. It was fun to film.
Very cool test! :-)
Good test.I think it is a bit over kill for this pouch.
Dragging one in the dry is bound to sustain more damage than dragging one in the wet
Very interesting test. But for the everyday guy wanting to know the durability of the organizers I would have just done a tumbling test. By putting weight nside each organizer and drag it.
JimmyGunXD556 I may need to do that in a rematch or in a future gear throw-down video.
looks like someone as a practical joke put two Seahawk flags on ur vehicle. hopefully u took them off ASAP!
you in tacoma bro? looks like the zoo up in north tacoma wa right by my old house. loved that trail you looked to be driving on it in the beginning.
Lol I haven't even watched it yet! But based on the preview pic I know what you're up to.
I just want to see you go through a TSA checkpoint with that!
just why ? i'm sorry but i don't get the point, tsa should stop you only for sharp object
***** I had enough trouble trying to get through the park without incident. :)
You have a nice vehicle. I haven't seen a Honda Element in the UK.
Come on, we already know the winner :D
OK, I guess I do have a gear fetish. I'll take big V please, and you can send the Maxi... gear to someone who loves the the brand.

Nice car,man!
axell26ful Thanks! :)
Point Defiance Park. Too bad they couldn't take the 5 mile drive.
U crack me up!!!! Too funny….Go kid prepper...
How controlled is this test? does this testing have any "weight" to it? Is this just a video I consume my coffee to, and then move on?
This was nothing strange for the Seattle area.
CHARGERDON55 Haha... You're probably right. :)
Omg this is amazing 😂
Here's the torture test I've mentioned previously.

Vanquest seems better all around anyways.
step one for prepping for the world...throw out that hat
LOL!!

6:40 "bitch...big shocker" lol
Waltsnoop LOL! I filmed that portion at 3am and my brain to speech function was not at its finest. :)
Nice weels!
Oh this vid was so funny! 😭😭😭😭
taxlawSEAL Steuerberater It was fun to film too!
Going with Vanquest for now.
Use Chain next time :)
***** Good idea, Joe!
I think you could have just held both to a belt sander.
Matt Rodriguez True. But I really wanted to use this opportunity to piss off my neighbors. :)
TheUrbanPrepper lmao..good point, carry on.
TheUrbanPrepper Lmfao! Did you succeed? Sounded like you had some admirers talk to ya. Lol. Good vid. Love the "just prepping" with cans and all. Funny stuff. Hate your team tho. ;) go chiefs!
Hey man. Love the vids. I was thinking.... could you do a torture test of some backs also. Just an idea :-D Greets from Denmark
QWERQWER1995 I would love to. What bags did you have in mind?
*Packs
QWERQWER1995 Any specific manufactures/models?
I was thinking Maxpedition and Condor maybe?
Absolutely pointless test. But insanely good youtubing. Keep getting wierd!!
The Hunter Report Haha... Thanks THR. I'll try not to get TOO weird. :)
I hate the velcro. I have no need for patches.
use a belt sander..theres no point in using all those resources for such a simple task
+Selkirk Outdoors True. However, driving a vehicle around like this is a whole lot more fun. :)
Hey i like the videos from you...but :-)
The treatment of both should be the same on the same time in the same condition....Then it would be a good test.
Too much tampering...sorry
***** I agree. That was my original intent: test each one in the park using the same distance, route and ground conditions. Unfortunately, I was having paracord problems which delayed production and I don't think the park enjoyed my testing operation. :)
***** THUMBS UP if you would like to see a "Just Prepping" vehicle rematch between these two, or other organizers, and I will make it happen ASAP.
Um...most people keep their organizer in a pocket, pack, or EDC bag. Why on earth would you even want to drag them behind your vehicle? No offense, but I just don't see the sense is this video.
Sorry but that was a stupid test
