    I'm really glad you're still alive and sorry you're going through this. I have liver disease to and it's so incredibly painful. I cry a lot and can barely get out o bed. I'm missing the summer. I only go out to go to meetings and meet my new sober friend and my mother who's real absolute angels to me. I want to live. Sorry one of my typing keys isn't working good excuse the spelling mistakes. It sucks doctors don't have many answers. I'm glad they helped you but angry they weren't taking you seriously at first. What a nightmare. Please keep seeing your doctors. I'm going through the same thing. I can't hold anything down and my intestinal track isn't functioning. I'm getting really scared. I got sent home too and I was shrieking in pain begging for help. I felt like they wanted me dead! My mother lost it threatening to call the news. I was IV-ed for the entire day. I'm hoping we both get better.

      I’m sorry you are going through that. Sounds all to familiar. Congratulations on staying sober! That awesome. Keep going. And I understand not having many people. I’m on my own. I recently made a friend here locally. You are always welcome to email me if you need to talk. Neil12020@yahoo.com Put liver friend in the subject line. Oh and I can’t spell good even with all my keys 😂 but stay positive and hang in there.

    Wow... Such similar stories with you and I. I've had this disease for about 4 years. Meld score three years was 38 and I was only 42. Listening to you brings peace and I'm sure it helps others as well . Meld to date is 11. Thank you for sharing 🤍

      @@Redneckkenobi Yes i hope so my friend. been gradualy getting more sick for a year now, have had blood tests done no more than 3 months back, and they where fine. Doctors keep sending me to cancer scans and tests, and keep saying my liver are healthy and normal. Not sure those liver blood tests will show anything, in all cases? Thank you mate and god bless you !

    I too, have liver cirrhosis NAFLD. I have diabetes, autoimmune illness. But it is true that everyone at some point will be living or dying from something, cancer of various kinds, M.S. M.D. Parkinsons, there's just so very many many diseases. We are bound to be hit by one or another, some people get lucky and live a long long life. ❤ we just keep our love and trust in Jesus and do our very best. ❤

    How much can you see on bloodtests (normal liver pannel) ? Did you ever have all normal NRs, while being sick? Thank you

    Hey Neil, My ammonia was once up to 168 when TIPS failed; 200 can sometimes cause brain damage or death. I believe average ammonia should be 50 . Also, upon arriving to the ER I weighed 249 lbs. Within 2 weeks into ICU I was back down to my 178 lbs self after para's.Yes, 70+- loss of water retention. In short how confused did you become when your ammonia was elevated?

    • @Redneckkenobi
      @Redneckkenobi  3 місяці тому +2

      So most liver doctors will now say they don’t base it on the ammonia level anymore. Because I’ve been as high as 300 once and was acting pretty normal. And I’ve been at 90 and was having mood swings. I forget often, but that’s mostly brain fog. But they base HE on the symptoms now more then the numbers. Some liver doctors won’t even pull the ammonia. That’s why they look for the hand flaps. I’m always at about 60 to 70 but I also spent about 3 months at about 150 normally. I was more experiencing the mood or personality changes. Like I would become angry. Or a feeling of hopelessness. And I used to get the hand flaps 2 years ago but don’t know what the level was back then

    • @ChrisBInPhilly
      @ChrisBInPhilly 3 місяці тому +1

      @@Redneckkenobi Well I guess we are not all created equal. I never experienced flaps, jerks or shakes. MY biggest HE bout sent me to the ER where I didn't even recall the month we in, nor the year, or even the president's name. My body was flushed with saline and other solutions for ammonia build-up,. I was top of my game, say within 3 days. The best lesson I learned was to watch my diet of say fast and processed foods, high salt in general, and to limit sugar the most you can. This alleviated many potential HE reoccurrences. I eat like a bird and as healthy as possible now. Water is pretty much my only beverage. Take care.

      @@ChrisBInPhilly this disease effects everyone a bit different. Episode you had with The ammonia I never had like that. In my case the area that got hit the hardest from the disease was my right lung. It filled up over and over again. I had a chest tube in for a month. I don’t know why it did affect my brain when the number was so high. The liver dr had said that’s why they don’t use ammonia level as an indicator. Sorry you went through that. And I hope you never have to again.
